714-245-8000 is the centrex line for the Santa Ana Police Department, it is just an outgoing line.  You can call the non-emergency number for Santa Ana PD at 714-834-4211 or 714-245-8665.  Only use 9-1-1 if you have a life or death emergency.  Numerous hang-up calls are received daily from cell phones.  It may also be an investigator calling from the police station, where the outgoing line will also show that same number.  If you are concerned, ask for the officer's name and badge number, then call the non-emergency number to confirm that they are indeed calling from SAPD.

I got a call but missed it twice. I have tmobile. No message was left. Should I report it

I was calling my brother and someone must have called me at the same time and got my voicemail.  A message was left.  I checked my voicemail and all you can hear is someone hanging up the phone which sounded like a office desk phone.  I selected the option to check the phone number that the caller called from. It was 714.245.8000.  I googles the number and saw several post and decided to leave one myself.

? I wonder if they needed tickets :-)

i called 911 because some people were fighting outside my apartment. but then i hung up instead. i got a called from the same number 714 245 8000. It was from the santa ana police department it was a nice lady. She said what is the emergency i told her, theres some people fighting outside, and im alone with my son, she said, how many men fighting, i said 5. She said, dont worry, we'll send someone, and 3 minutes later , two officers arrived and handcuffed them.I was very glad. And it is the santa ana pd. theyre located in  civic center drive.

At 1:30 am I got a call from this number.  By the time I got to my phone they had hung up.  No message was left and when I tried calling back it just gave a busy signal.

Rec'd a call from 714-245-8000 @11:34pm EST. A woman left a message stating they she was calling from the Police Dept. and rec'd a 911 call from my phone. The woman asked to call back and stay on the line so that they could ensure everything was ok. Because we are on the East Coast and 714 is a West Coast area code, I was suspicious right away.  Googled # and saw these posts. We have Verizon.

Rec'd call from 714-245-8000 @ 2:30 am - left message that they were from the Santa Ana Police Dept. & that my phone had dialed 911 and I needed to return the call ASAP. Tried to call them number back - just got busy signal. Hadn't used my phone all night and was sleeping - obnoxious!!!!

I got the same call when I posted on Craigslist.. a guy saying that he was a detective seeing if I had been robbed 714-245-8000

i got a call from this number and the man stated he was from the santa ana police department and he had recieved anon. info that i may have been robbed? ... WTF? ... i told him i dont know who may have given him that information but if i had been robbed i would have called the police myself. i decided to try and google the number because that was just too weird and i came across these posts... soooo WTF?

I received a call on my cell from this number stating the same thing- the gentleman was from Santa Ana police department and someone had called from 911...I know that there was never a call made from this phone, and yes, I do have verizon.

Mine was the same call however I called 911 and verizon to report as a criminal offence

I got the same call from 714-245-8000.  The man said, "This is the Santa Ane Police Departmant, making sure everything is ok because some one dialed 911 from this number."  He also said, "You have Verizon right?"
He called on our house phone, I *69'ed to get the number.

According to the caller from number 714-245-8000, I dialed 911 from my cell and they just wanted to make sure that everything was okay. How funny, I didn't even touch my phone.
