Got one of these call-and-hang-ups. Caller ID said "Printronix" . So spoofing the ID, to try to be something that someone will pick up. NOT... I no longer pick up the phone for numbers that I don't recognize... people who actually want me will start talking to leave a message and I'll answer if I'm there. Maybe if everyone is aggressive in the use of caller ID and their answering machine, the spammers, having little success reaching anyone, will give up. (Spam email has become less recently, too easy to send it to the junk folder. Wish the same could be done for phone calls...let the carriers provide an opt-in feature for specific numbers the first time they call, the rest go to junk)

I thought this call was unusual because it started with 1, such as the old long distance prefix, but showed our area code. No "1" necessary. No message fr whomever it is.

Wanted to know abt doing construction work. He knew my husbands name. I told him we are on DO NOT CALL registry & to please take us off his list.......he rudely told me he is just trying to feed his kids & did I want them to starve. I hung up!!

Similar number with my school. A guy called himself Bill Collins and asked "is this (my father's name)'s home?" I answered yes thinking they wanted a parent conference but asked about home reconstruction. As soon as he knew I am not the home owner he called me stupid and hung up. Although it is true I was stupid not to make sure that it was from my school, I found this man very disturbing. I believe he insulted me because I do not have a white name.

My grandson has 714-271/. Caller ID said Cell phone 714 271-1761. I picked the phone up and said Hello, thinking it was my grandson. Man said my name is David Lange, is this etc. I immediately said take me off your list, I am on the DO NOT CALL NATIONAL LIST and hung up. Hope this guy does not call back.

This came up on my caller ID as a cell phone number. He knew our names, but then he hung up after asking for us. A tad creepy to me.

Got one at 4:43 pm today. Left no message. Telemarketing slime for sure. Guess they have a relatively new number. I have given up trying to block, I fill up my blocking list but they just spoof new numbers. I just never answer. But annoying nevertheless.
