These dummies called me from 714-276-1233 and was yelling and fussing about I owe a payday loan. Didn't say when how much or anything. But he did have all my info. He said his name was John Smith. Now I'm a fool from way back so of course the ghetto in me popped up! Needless to say they got what little piece of my mind I have left. Don't let these dummies get to you!

They called me on my cell phone demanding money for a payday loan that I did not have. He was had an heavy accent and said his name was Paul Jackson. LOL!!!. I had nothing but time today and turned the tables, I request printed information via email or regular mail. They told me that the police would hand deliver the summons on the next day. I told them to call the police back and tell them to come that day and the the man got rude and told me to shut up. I told him to come and shut me up and a few choice other words and he hung up in my face. I called back about thirty time most of the time they would hang up or sometimes they would tell me that they are going to report me for harrassing them. OK, money scammers, reporting a person they are trying to scam. I called about twenty more times they finally block my number, just for the heck of it I started calling from my home phone. Nor they are hanging they are hanging up on me.

I was igonring their calls until they left me messages about a law suit. Then i answered the phone and the Indian individual kept yelling with his funny accent! lol!!  And I thought, yeah they are lying. Then this morning I got a call from another number but same voice and said the same thing about the loan i owed and he had my social security number, name and my bank info. Now it makes sense why they have this info, I applied for a loan maybe a year ago and that's why they keep calling. I came online to look up the numbers and found others with the same situation which made me feel less worried and I actually answered again and imitated their Indian accent! lol!!! I had a good laugh!! I told them I was tracing their call all the way to India! lol!! the lady was saying "what i don't understand" lol!!  But since i have time...now it's my turn to mess with these scammers!!! lol!!

I had this guy call me a month of so ago many times.  I told him he was a fraud and not to call my number of work number again or I was reporting to the authorities with the numbers he had left.  He has been Peter Black, John White and now he is Kevin Brown.  Last week there was a different guy who was Albert Smith.
He stopped for a month and now he is starting again.
They are a fraud -- don't even talk to them.

Wow!  I am so happy i found this site!! I got this exact same phone call today regarding a PayDay loan I received many, many years ago.  I told them that I NEVER received any information that I owed anything either through email or regular mail.  He even had the audacity to say that he was with the State Attorney's office of California - his name was Craig Williams (wow, Craig Williams has a strong Indian accent and there were a LOT of other voices in the background!)  The scary part is that they have my social security number and my email address.  I will ignore the calls and even use some of the tips given in other posts - I especially like the one about working in a slaughter house or chanting "I summon the demons upon you" :)

SO HAPPY THIS ISN'T A REAL THING!

This Indian man has been calling me for a while now. he says i have took a payday loan on line and now i owe. i have not done this but he is threatening me with legal issues if i dont PAY. he has threatened to call my job. and says  if i lose it because of this call that will be my fault. he has called me with the name john, james, and creige. he has all my info from my SSN, bank info, E-mail and so forth. I have even asked him when was it done he tells me i know when i did it. He is very rude and threating. Ive called the numbers which there has been 5 and they never answer it with a company name till today. It sound like he said hopkins lawfirm but I am not sure it is hard to understand him sometimes. so everyone one says dont give them any info but that is hard when they already have all of mine. I have also been writing down all the numbers from which they have called me. Best of luck to everyone hopefully they will get caught soon.

I received a call at work and on my cell phone. I called the number several times before I actually spoke with someone, only to have them hang up on me several times, claiming the phone line was an issue. Finally a foreign lady answered the phone without identifying the company, when I asked what business is contacting me she stated, "Hawkins Law Associations". The lady stated that "David" would be calling me back in 10-15 minutes, I have not heard from him as of yet. If this is a third party bill collector make sure they identify the debt being owed, I would recommend reading the FDCPA, Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I believe in paying my bills but there are guidelines that debt collectors have to follow. I won a small settlement from a collector because they violated every rule in the book. Make sure you understand your basic consumer rights. You can pay your bills without feeling and being harassed.

Just called me and it had been a month since I got a call from someone similar to this scam.  I just post the number here and on the FTC Claim site just so they have record of what's going on.  If it got worse, I move it up the chain of command (working in a federal court and yes they call me there to and forward it to one of my staff attorneys and let them record their conversation and forward that conversation to the secret service.  But these suckers always change the number and move on.  As everyone has noted, never verify or give them any information about yourself or make any payments to these losers.  They can't serve you by fax and if they try to serve you, tell them you'll be waiting at your office for them to serve you in person.

i got a message from a female with a very heavy indian accent saying to call the second i got the message and that if i didnt call she wanted to wish us good luck for everything that would be unfolding and that we owed on a loan...when i called a man with and indian accent asked for my lawyers information stating that we would be going to court next friday that i would be recieving a subponea monday that someone would be coming to my place of work....they were rude on the phone said i was a criminal and was going to be charged with larceny and a few other charges... at first they did not ask for money i asked for the phone number to call the people i had "borrowed" the money from they game me the same number my phone echoed on both numbers and both had a heavey accent. i asked for them to send me information via fax and they said they were not aloud to because i was a criminal and it would all be settled in court.  a few minutes later the man from the first number called back and said i was making a huge mistake letting it go to court and that i could resolve all my problems by making a payment.  (they knew my soc, my bosses name and two of my sisters)........ i found this web site on line and feel much better! thanks

The number 714-276-1233 is a SCAM, do not give this Indian accent individual any information. They have gotten your information from a payday loan if you have applied over the months. He will threaten you with taking your to court, etc. It's a SCAM. I took out a loan sometime ago but has paid it off since then and have the paperwork to prove it. The payday loan people tell me that somehow these people have hacked into their system and this is how they get our telephone numbers. It's a shame that they have nothing else to do but sit in their country and SCAM Americans. People please be careful out there and give these people NO information on you. They will try anything. I've gotten calls at work but I've notified my human resources office and I'll forward the call to them. Don't let these peole SUCK you into anything. It's just a SCAM. Now they will keep calling you but I don't answer them when they call me on my cell. I started to change my number but I'm not letting these people scare me. Be careful and just don't answer their calls.

These idiots keep calling me from different numbers, so each time they do a new one, I am going to post this under that number so that people can "fight back".  This time the number was 714-276-1233.

OK, first off, everyone CALM DOWN and don?t freak out about these guys.  No matter what they say or what they threaten, they CAN?T do anything to you.  I know every one of us has tried filing reports with law enforcement, FTC, FBI, ic3, etc.  It doesn?t seem to work, because these guys aren?t even in the USA.  So take a deep breath, relax and don?t let them ruffle your feathers.

Now, I started getting these calls about a year ago.  I have personally used all of the tactics below, and they do stop calling me for about 6 months?so the way I figure it, a little time out of my day to give them back a taste of their own medicine is worth it for 6 months of peace and quiet.  Keep in mind, as well, every minute you spend screwing with them on the phone is a minute they are NOT able to scam someone else.  (And the only way they will ever stop is if nobody pays them any money ever again!)  And now for the fun part?how to screw with them back.  I will start with the easiest and move up the line with the more time consuming:

If you have no time to mess with them:
a.    Just don?t pick up the line.  Let it go to voicemail and delete the message.
b.    Pick up the line and immediately hang up.  Keep doing it until they stop.
c.    Pick up the line and use an air horn or police whistle blown straight into the mouthpiece of the phone.  (I personally like the canned airhorn the best.)
d.    If they call while you are driving, turn the radio up as loud as possible and answer the line on speakerphone.  Don?t say anything, just let them listen to the blasting music.  Heavy metal music works best, but I personally have a CD with Star Spangled Banner on it, so I play that as loud as I can.  Just leave the line open with the music blasting until they hang up.

If you have a little more time to mess with them:
a.    Ask if they are related to the deceased (insert your name here as the ?deceased?) or just a family friend, because ?the viewing of the body if for family only, but the memorial service is open to everyone.?  Ask if they would like directions to the funeral.
b.    Simply tell them that you have read all about their scam on the internet & seen it on the news on TV, so you aren?t paying anything.  Don?t listen to any response, just hang up on them after saying this.
c.    Use this one only if you are willing to be as crude as they are:  Using the name they gave you (i.e., ?Officer Mike Taylor? was the last one I got), say, ?Is the this THE Officer Mike Taylor I read about on the internet?  Is it true what the posts online say, that you have such a small d**k that even camels won?t have sex with you??  Then hang up on them.
d.    (For this one, I must first apologize to PETA and all vegans, but it highly offends the scammers because they consider cows to be divine beings.)  Tell them you don?t have time to speak with them, because you work at a slaughter house and you have over 100 cattle you need to ?kill off? before the end off the day.  Then hang up on them.
e.    Are you good with theatrics?  Then try this one?it was actually highly effective for me:  Put on your deepest, scariest, growliest voice and just whisper into the phone over and over, ?I command the demons to come for you, I command the demons to come for you, I command the demons to come for you??.  Just keep whispering it over and over until they hang up.  I think this one worked well because they are quite superstitious.
f.    If you know a foreign language, answer the phone in it and just keep talking in unintelligible phrases.  The more obscure the language, the better.  Don?t know a foreign language?  Pig Latin seems to work just as effectively.
g.    Ask if they are calling from the convenience store, and can they give you last night?s winning lottery numbers, because you are sure you have won.  For any response they give to it, just keep yelling over and over, ?I won! I won!?
h.    When you answer the phone, ask them where your pizza is and tell them because they didn?t get it to you in the ?30 minutes?, you?re not paying for it.  Hang up.
i.    Tell them you are at work right now, but to call you back on your ?home? phone, and give them this number: 202-835-0778.  (This is the scam and fraud reporting division number at the FBI.)  Hang up.

If you are REALLY p***ed off, and have plenty of time to screw with them:

a.    Go on to Craig?s List and post an ad in the wanted section or services section  saying you are looking for a payday loan company because you need a loan.  Ask they call you right away.  List the scammer?s name and phone number as the contact information.  (This sends the scum-sucking bottom feeders off to call the other scum sucking bottom feeders?LOL)
b.    Go online and look for every free daily horoscope, free insurance quote, free mortgage lending, etc., and click on the ?have an agent contact me? link.  Type in the scammer?s name and phone number.  Viola!  Now they will get flooded with telemarketers as well.
c.    If you would like to blow off steam, and have no problem with swearing, just keep calling them over and over pretending you have Tourette?s Syndrome by just screaming obscenities in the phone until they hang up.  This works pretty good in the car, because no one else can hear you and it is a good tension reliever.
d.    Log onto these payday loan sites and enter all of the scammers? information on it.  This way they might even wind up on their own list!
e.    (Do NOT attempt this one unless you have state of the art spyware & virus protection, and even then, you still are taking a risk):  Go into your spam folder on your computer.  Find every email you can about ?you won millions of dollars? or ?the Nigerian lottery? or something to that effect.  Send it back with all of the scammers? contact information.
f.    Research for the phone numbers to both local and national TV news stations ?breaking news desk?.  Again, tell the scammer on the phone to call you at your ?work number? and give the number to the news station?s phone number.  (Hopefully, if the news stations get enough of these calls, they will start airing more stories about it, reaching more people and reduce the number of victims that fall for this.)

Again, before sending money to ANYONE, stop. Think.  Do you have any paperwork showing you owe money?  If not, ask for paperwork.  If they refuse to send it, they are scammers.  A real collection agency will always: 1. provide paperwork; 2. never yell or cuss at you; 3. never require you to pay first before receiving paperwork; 4. never identify themselves as an officer of law enforcement; 5. never threaten you with jail, arrest or physical harm.

I was receiving calls from this guy from another number a while ago. He speaks with a strong Indian accent and says his name is Thomas Sorrel, John Johnson and James Smith... I seriously doubt that any of those are his real name. He states that he is from some legal service and that you need to pay off a loan that you owe or you will be taken to court and put in jail...lol... I let him know thta I have no outstanding loans and that they need to stop calling me. Did I mention that they call me on my work number and cell phone? I believe they have my work number because my job is extremely public and comes up on a search of my name. This is atleast the 6th number that the same people call from. I have searched other numbers on here before and many people have had the same experience. They must have just gotten a new number. Beware of giving them any info, it is a scam!
