Some solar company. The same scammer yesterday was selling credit card interest rates.

They changed caller ID and called again. I blocked them again, same old scammer as another name GCI SOLAR.

This people call relentlessly.  The caller Id on my phone reads "Intermedia."

Whenever I see an out of area call (714) is out of my local area, I don't pick up and if the ID says (GCI) Solar, I know they are trying to sell me the moon.

It's probably useful to report them to all of the DNC/agencies. But the problem is that these callers use spoofed numbers. They can changed their number anytime they want. Also, very often they are calling from a different country (like India) where they don't care about other countries DNC lists.

The best way to get them to stop is to not answer and to block them whenever you can. I have 5 free blocks on my cell service and I rotate the numbers as needed.

There are also new devices on the market to trap the calls.  There are too many to list, but you can view them on amazon. (under call block devices)  Unfortunately they aren't available all phone services, but I've read that they will be at some point.

Call from 714-362-3737  Caller ID said "GCI SOLAR" This telemarketing company calls frequently. They often lead you to believe they are "related to" Southern California Edison Company (which they certainly are not). Asked for me by name and address. Asked one question "Is your electric bill over $100?" When I said "No", they hung up without any further comment.
Would like to know if I have an unlisted telephone number and have been on the DoNotCall list since it began, how they get my info? When I have been able to in the past, I get in "please remove my number from your list", but usually they talk over me. I report every single telemarketer call to the DoNotCall website. Takes less than 1 min and maybe they'll get tired of all my submissions and do something! Makes me feel better. Generally receive about 15-20 calls/week!

I just got 4 Robocalls within 5 minutes to Campbell, CA from 623-552-5039, caller ID only shows Phoenix, AZ
I called back to request to be removed from their list and it was a Solar power scam.

Within 5 minutes they called back 3 times from another number with different Caller ID Info:

Called this morning, April 7, 2014, caller ID said GCI solar.  Didn't leave a message.

I have received numerous calls from this number at all times of day.  The called ID shows "GCI Solar."

Typical scammer, using different numbers called again and again. There is no doubt to block them.

Auto dialed call with dead air when answered.  Call is likely spoofed (meaning phony caller id) and blocking will likely not work.  Caller id was GCI Solar

Can't tell if there is a number to press to be removed, but don't, it just confirms your identity to these sleazeballs.

Do not give any personal information.

Contrary to what the slimeball caller said, they cannot call you to make offers -- this is still marketing. More importantly, they are required to remove upon request (not that they would do so).

Three things that need to be passed along people who get unwanted solicited phone calls.
1. Complain to FTC.gov
2. DNC list. Just like door locks. It keeps honest people honest. Those that violate it are those who did not pay to download the software and list.
3. Go to www.nomorobo.com. It is honest, it is legit, it is sported by the gov and it don't cost nothing. Follow directions. It keys in on numbers complained to FTC.gov. Often times I don't even know solicitors have called until I check my recent calls.

Until then I block calls using my 250 number blocking Panasonic.

Pass this along every chance you get.

Unless you know anyone from Orange County, just block ALL calls from the 714 area code. Orange County is home to hundreds of ignorant contractors who use telemarketing, unaware that they are losing business with they repeated phone harassment.

10/24 15:25  These creeps don't want to take no for an answer.  Refuse to answer any calls and have blacklisted number.  The only good thing to say is that they identify themselves.  Thanks for that!.  Background noise is only message.

Got call from 'Bill' who identified himself as rep of GCI Solar at 10AM.  I asked him if he were a criminal scammer.  He said he sold solar installations and was not a criminal.  Asked if he ever heard of DNC list and he said his bosses 'do the screening.'  Told him he and his company were legally liable for calling DNC listers.  Told him never to call again and reported him to FCC and FTC websites.
