I got a call with a message from this #.  The message was directed at, I think my nephew,who I've only talked with once in many years.  I called the number back and the person on the line refused to tell me what his business was.  He kept insisting that I give him the number that he called.  I would not so he said we'll just keep calling the phone # you called from.  He then repeated my cell # and hung up.

They use different numbers, including

They are rude and threatening.

I have started receiving harassing calls from this company, but have never received any legal paperwork or documentation. I have paid off several debts over time, and am pretty familiar with the way a reputable company works. I spoke very calmly with one rep over the phone, but then he started getting abusive, screaming at me that they were going to sue me. I've been there, done that, not a big deal. The debt they say I owe is not large, but I believe I paid if off long ago. In fact, when I asked them the name of the card or company I owed money to, the rep started stammering and couldn't give me a definite answer. Anyway, i quietly hung up, and have spoken to a state and federal agency that will investigate THEM. Most places I've owed money to have contacted me directly, no games, written information, call back numbers and company names that were obvious, nothing like this place.

this guy named Chris Myers calls asking a zillion question about someone that doesn't even live in my home. He won't say where he is calling from or what he wants.  Very nasty I have contacted my states attorney and I'm filing a complaint.

Mr. Brown wouldn't give me any of his information and refused to fax or email me
the information he had about me and what I owed.  He said he was going to send a
sheriff over to arrest me and then they would take me to court, garnish my wages
and stick me with the legal bills.  He said he would do me a favor and only
charge me $1000, but I had to get it to him by the end of the day or else!  He
said he had been trying to contact me since 2006, at my college dorm!  He said I
knew what I was doing by purposely avoiding him for years, when I never even
knew I was in trouble with my credit report.  I never received any notices
saying there was a warrant out for my arrest.  He said that it was because I
never updated my address on Experian or Equifax which isn't true.  I got scammed
and I never want this to happen to anyone else.

We have been getting calls from a guy named w.Brown saying he is going to come pick up our car, put a lien on our house and tap into our bank account.  He says he's from WWR and Associates [we think, worldwide recovery].  So if you get a call from 714.380.5857 - it's the same people that you are describing in your thread.

This company is calling my job two or three times a day.  They have been told to stop but continue.  I have 9 counts of violations against them and after I send them a certified cease & desist letter today, if they call one more time I am suing them.  They break all kinds of rules.  They threaten to sue and don't, illegal.  They call your job AFTER it has been made clear that it is not allowed.  They pursue disputed debts that have never had a cent paid on them. They word their letters in such a way as to imply a court case has been filed against you, ILLEGAL! They are doing everything against the law and I'm not only sending them a certified letter, but also a copy of the letter to my congressman and to theirs.  These type of companies make it impossible to try to legitimately settle with a company and actually end up causing people to never pay debts that they may have otherwise paid. I think these hoodlums get a kick out of intimidating people, but I think they just sound like a bunch of loser thugs & other than them bothering my co-workers I'm kind of enjoying toying with them, like a cat toying with a mouse before it moves in for the kill. I'm telling my co-workers just to hang up on them but they get kind of upset about it.  They think I'm in trouble.  I tell them I never paid that debt because it was cramming of a phone bill to begin with and I will never pay it so just hang up on them. If it's not my family then I don't want to talk to them anyway, so just hang up.

I was contacted by this man as well...who claims his name is Henry Long and he is going to "take my property". Little does Mr. Long know this is harrassment and he can be fined for it. I don't know anybody anything and will be ready for this freak when he calls back! I am soooooooo glad we have forums like this to keep others aware of these dirtbags.

I was contacted by this number and was told they were Worldwide Recovery in Santa Anna, CA - I explained their lead was incorrect (not my debt) and asked to be removed from this spam list, but was told all I could do would be to change my name.  Someone with my name about 700 mils from here is claimed to owe someone some money in that state, but my name & phone number has been passed around for about 10 years.

This number is from a purported company calling themselves Worldwide Recovery.  They are a debt collection agency and seem to believe that threatening to sue and take someone's home is going to recover their money quickly.  They will not return phone calls, like to avoid answering questions themselves, but love to call leaving harrassing messages telling people they are going to sue them.  They refuse to give a physical mailing address and follow the proper protocol of debt collection agencies.
