On Caller ID, this number shows up as "HEALTH CARE LEG". These folks claim to be representing the hospital or medical entity, in this case Kaiser Foundation Hospital. They represent themselves as "The Outsource Group". They claim to help you fill out the Long Term Medi-Cal forms (a.k.a. Medicaid, but in Calif it's Medi-Cal) and submit them for you. Generally people in this field want to know what your house is worth and what all other assets are worth FIRST, because the big problem with LTMC qualification is assets NOT income. These folks wanted to know detailed bank account info and then wanted detailed pension info. Red flag. The call was for my mother because my father is basically on long term life support and is back and forth between the convalescent hospital and the big hospital. I listened in. Yesterday, same company, different person, called and in conversation left my mother a number to call back; the number was actually for a fax line, and my mother had asked them to repeat the number twice. If you go to the website of "The Outsource Group", this is what you see:

SO, THEY ARE NOTHING BUT A COLLECTION AGENCY HOODWINKING YOU, AND/OR YOUR ELDERLY & SICKLY PARENTS, INTO SUBMITTING DETAILED FINANCIAL INFORMATION TO WHICH THE HOSPITAL OR MEDICAL ENTITY IS NOT ENTITLED.
