Also just received a text message although it was at 10am. Is it legal to telemarket via text message?

I received a text message at 2 AM from this phone number, which reads: "Do you have 10k or more in credit card debt? Our debt relief program CUTS your payments and total debt by over HALF. No upfront fees. May we contact you?"

I know there are rules about calling after 9pm at night, but are there laws regarding text messages? I'm super annoyed...

Have recieved numerous calls with a pre-recorded message stating that they can reduce my debt/give me a loan. Is there any way to get off of these lying scumbag's phone list?

I also cannot stop them from calling me.  Here is a little research that I did on the company and some number to call them at.

It seems to me that from reading a number of the comments above that the option of the calls is not to get your business or to help you out of your 'debt' but to get you to call back so that maybe your personal information becomes all the more accessible to possible identity thieves.

They call here over and over and have repeatedly ask them to remove us from there call list and they just hang up me!!! This is very rude and time consumming.

This number keeps calling my phone like 4 times a day! When I called back a different person answers and say's would you like to reduce your debit and then hang up on me. I blocked the number and they will find ways around the block by calling from other numbers! My phone answers saying if you are a solicitor please remove this number from your list or press 1 to get through and they are pressing 1 because they get through I let my answering machine answer and they leave a recording asking me to reduce my debit. I don't understand why in the world they would even think I have debit and why they think I need this service. Stupid hackers!!!!! So annoying!!!! If you block there number they will call back from 603-214-3506.

I have a business line and have tried to get the party to stop calling me.  The recording claims his name is John Stevens with Debt Solutions and I qualify for line of credit of $2500 and press 1 to speak with someone.  When you press 1 you either get someone that will hang up on you or you get disconnected.  They do not even giv you a chance to accept the offer.  If this does not stop, I would considder hiring a hacker to hack into his system and down the server.  I do not think many would be upset with me for that.  If you call the number, you will get hear it dial and then a busy signal.

QUIT CALLING ME!!! Calling during dinner, HOLIDAYS ( July 4th @ 2:56 PM)RIDICULOUS!!!!! I know all of the other phone numbers related to the same one showing up on my caller ID. I will seek legal counsel if you call me again..from any of your affiliates.

These calls come 2 a day. they hang up when i ask to be taken off their list. when I ask to speak with Robert Parker (who leaves me messages) i get hung up on too.

I just filed at complaint with the FTC and BBB.  Everyone do this and maybe we can stop them. I am filing with the BBB here in Arkansas and see if they will contact CA to get this to stop.  I also registered on the national do not call list.  I have to wait 30 days before I can complain on there too.

This took only 5 minutes.  We can all do this to shut them down.

spent money to get an unlisted number and they still got thru. after asking how they got my number, they hung up. called back and got the same person, asked again, and he hung up. called one more time and told him not to hang up on me and was told to go.... "breed" myself. SO being the game was on i called back and asked for "branden" was told he was not available and that he would handle my case. after telling him that i had 7000$ in creditcard bills he asked my name. sadam hussien was my answer. you have no idea how hard it was not to loose it when he asked how i wanted to be addressed. then went on to ask how to spell sadam. got thru that ok, but when he asked for the spelling on the last name, i cracked up and had to hang up. can't say that i've ever had that much fun with a telemarketer!

This person calls atleast 4 times a week and never left a messege untill now.
This person IDed himself as "bob" from "debt solutions". This voice claimed that I had credit card debt that they knew about that they could help salve. I only have ONE credit card and I'm less then 23 years old LOL....I've never had debt ever in my short credit history.

BTW ( by the way ) .....the "voice" on the phone sounded computer generated

When I call the number back,someone answers if I want to reduce my credit card debt and when I state that I want my number removed from their calling list they hang up!!! Think this telemarketing place uses different cell phone numbers as I repeatedly get this same company calling several times every day from different numbers.What can we do to stop these incessant calls?????

Bob from "debt solutions" called to help reduce my debts. I asked to have my number put the do not call list and the connection was dropped. This has happened several times a week for at least a month.

I get this call at least 2-3 times a week. I am a receptionist at a business and I have no idea who they are even wanting to speak with or whose name they have listed as this telephone number. Anyway I just wish these calls would stop. It's right a long up there with the ones concerning my vehicle warranty about to expire and one that calls all the time and starts out with the sound of a ship horn and a voice says "this is your captain speaking" and wants you to stay on the line about taking a cruise or something. VERY ANNOYING!!!

Over and over I have been getting this call from a very cheerful and concerned 'Charles' from 'Consumer Solutions' or 'Debt Solutions' He claims that I'm eligible for a 1000 dollar line of credit, that we've talked before, that he's looking through my file, and that he wants to help me reduce my debt.  When I called back 10 times in a row, they hung up on me as soon as they understood that I was a disgruntled and angry at being called under false pretenses.  When I played along and appeared interested in the services, I was not hung up on. Finally I made it all the way to someone who agreed to take me off the list.  When I said how fishy and shady all the hanging up was, she assured me that they'd been having difficulty with the line.  (Miraculously, the phone worked fine when I appeared intrested in their help.) ONe QUestion: Why does this site have links to Debt Solution type places?

We are receiving approximately 3 calls a day from Bob at Debt Solutions with a caller ID # of 714-682-8393.
As soon as we mention Do Not Call, the caller hangs up.

The telephone prefix is in the santa Ana, Garden Grove area of California.

Perhaps if lots of people started emailing or calling the California AG's office and request complaint forms or actually file complaints this would cease.

These people keep calling me to lower my credit card debt - I DO NOT HAVE A CREDIT CARE - NEVER HAVE!  When I asked very nicely to be removed they hang up on me.  Today they called - it's Sunday - what is wrong with these people.  I asked who they were looking for and they changed the subject - I think they are just fishing trying to catch someone in need of help.  i just wish they would be kind enough to remove my number from their call list - i have called them back several times and as soon as I asked to be removed they hang up on me.

We get the Bob and we have dept etc.etc. In realoty we dont even have a credit card just an ATM......I would like to see someone be in dept with an ATM card....lol. We too have requested to be removed numerous times and they rudly just habg up on us. This should be prosecutable......

Getting this call for months

This number 714-682-8393 are also the same people from 866-203-9231.  I think they recognized my voice, because when i call, i say one word and they hang up.  I told them to stop scaming people and get a real job,  they didnt like that.
