Today this man called me from this number and asked me for one of my sons by name. I nievely responded that he had been dead for 14 years. This "gentleman" told me if I was going to lie I should make it believable and say 6 years instead of 14, then continued to call me a liar. I was in a state of shock. How could anyone be so heartless? It's bad enough losing a child, but to have it rubbed in so callously isn't human. I get 5 to 6 "no one there" calls a day. Could it be this same person? My oldest son showed me how to retrieve a number, so now I can keep track and if this number shows up again, I will not answer. It's a shame I will have to be leery of answering my phone from now on. And, no law protecting the public from predators like this man. I will pray for him.

It was someone asking for "Mr. or Mrs. Collins".

At first nobody there and blip a call center noise and a voice asking for my spouse.  I asked who he was and I got "Paradise Builders."  I yelled at him that I wouldn't do business with illegal telemarketers and crooks and hung up.

These guys called me again??..home improvement scammers???..will put on my call blocking list.

Dave LB you are correct. But what can we do about these calls. I get them all day from various numbers. I filed a complaint with every agency I can think of. Poor old folks that actually answer these calls.

Folks, please pay attention: if you think that posting your complaints, and making requests to have your numbers removed from any list on this forum is going to work, you're sadly mistaken. These telemarketers don't care if you're on the Do Not Call List; they don't care if you don't want them to call; they don't care if you call them names or hang up on them. They don't care if it's illegal. They are relentless. They will never stop. Best advice? Put your phone on silent, and never answer it. You are not required to answer that appliance. Let it ring, forget about it, and go on with your day. If someone wants to reach you that badly, they will leave a message.

This number has been repeatingly calling about Home Remodeling. We said no multiple times. You need to stop calling. Otherwise I'm taking legal action.

If these people won't stop calling I'm seeking legal action. Called again around Lunch time.

I just don't answer my phone anymore if I do not recognize the number. I believe it is workers compensation insurance co investigators looking to see if I am home.....stupid losers...just wait and see what I have up my sleeve. I have a big bomb to drop on them !!!

This person calls and doesn't say anything, then hangs up. Obviously a mental problem.

they called again and I picked up phone, nobody there, and then it pops on very noisy with some guy asking for my spouse by a name he does not use.  I didn't say a word and just listened as he angrily shouted.  I probably should have gone into a heavy breathing mode or maybe an asthma attack or a dog or cat.  He hung up.  I *69 and number is spoofed.  Proof of criminals.

I do not know who this jerk was. I wish they would stop calling.

Called, went to recorder, they hung up. What I can't understand is that my message says: "Due to a high volume of telemarketing calls we are forced to screen our calls, so if you want to speak to (my name) or (my wife's name), you will have to leave a message and we will call you back."
It's been that way for four months. We never answer, without exception. The message hasn't changed the entire time either. Nobody has had any success contacting us by telephone in at least four months, and still I get 30+ calls every day. Most don't stay on to hear the message, so I know they've called before and already know what it says. Most show up as a number the phone company says is not a valid number (999-999-9999, etc.). Some with area codes like 001..., fake numbers, most show the caller as unavailable, not available or it shows the name of the state the call originated from. And these are just the ones that stay on the line until my recorder beeps for them to talk, the rest don't wait that long and I get no information at all about the caller or where they're calling from.
This goes on all day, every day. Months ago when I used to answer my phone, 90% of these calls hung up on me after I answered. They were still on the line, I could hear them breathing or other voices in the background, but they would never say anything, they just hung up.
I can't figure out any logical reason for anybody to do that - it's just bizarre, but after being told that we don't, and won't answer these calls, and knowing that we can't call them back unless they leave their name and phone number, and getting the same result every time they call after months and months - this is beyond weird. These people are psychopaths!
I can't block them because I don't know what numbers to block, I can't block numbers without caller ID because they have caller ID, it's just a fake number and a fake ID. I'm not going to change numbers because I've had this same number for 30 years and too many people know to reach me at this number.
I'm at the end of my rope. The phone company says they have no way to stop them, or even identify them, other than the call blocking features I mentioned earlier that are useless for this situation.
I may have to take them to court for harassment, negligence, not delivering the services they are contracted to provide, whatever. I'm not a lawyer and I know I'll lose, but maybe they will eventually get tired of sending their lawyers to court and pay attention. I'm afraid it's going to take a lot of complaining from a lot of people before they get off their a***s and do something to stop this crap. So don't just write a note here where nobody sees it, send your complaints and any information you have to everyone you can think of. Phone companies, law enforcement, gov't agencies at all levels, friends and relatives. If we make enough noise it will be addressed. The phone companies could stop it in a heartbeat, they just don't see it as a big enough problem for them to get involved, yet. Let's make some noise and get our phones back!

They called and left no message.  Googled the number and no info online.  Called back and number is probably spoofed.
