Just got:

"Homeowners, we can lower your mortgage payment by doing a Loan Modification.  Late on payments OK.  No equity OK.  May we please give you a call?  loanmod-gov.org"

The phone number is registered as a cell phone in Orange County, CA (Fullerton to be exact).  There is no website at the given domain, though a Whois search indicates that it was registered with GoDaddy, and no additional info is provided.

Got a text offering mortgage modification

This is the second time I have gotten a text message from them.  I have sent them a reply back asking to be removed off their list but I have also complained to the FCC.  It's time the FCC stops these guys from operating.  I recommend that anyone who receives a text from them go and file a complaint on the donotcall website.  Hopefully this will cause the FCC to look into it and actually do something.

I got the same text.  What I did was replied back to the text saying I want to be removed.  Then I reported it to the FCC.  This is exactly what I think we all should be doing.  This is unsolicited call essentially.  So I hope the FCC finds out who is doing this and fines the crap out of them.
