Got a call from them and they didn't leave a message. Just came up on my calls missed log. Called them from another phone and asked, 'are you with Bank of America'? She said, yes, we are. She was rather rude about it. I contacted the local BOFA branch and they said all my accounts were fine. Said if there was a problem it would come from an 877 number or from a local branch. Scam artists. Catch and lynch....

Debt Collector
I ignored the call the first time, they called right back I'm from southern California and 714 is a normal Irvine number so i pick it up thinking this might be a emergency (why would a random number call me twice back to back)
I pick up the phone to a guy saying "hello......" its like uhh who's this? he says "Douglass" again just goes to silence. I just hung up at that point, for one I am at work i don't need to be harassed well i'm working. Two, why do they randomly call a bunch of times and be all shady.

I confirmed this is a debt collector for bank of america.

I have been a B of A customer (by default) for 20 years (They swallowed up my original *reasonable* bank 15+ years ago).

Up until earlier this year when I went completely broke (unemployed, no job, drained all of my savings and 401K), I had never missed a payment, and had paid off my entire balance multiple times - then all of a sudden I am absolute scum.

On the rare occasion that I answer one of these calls, the simple explanation of, "I am broke, unemployed and would gladly pay you if
I could", seems to fall on deaf ears.

It truly boggles the mind when I think about the number of calls, threatening letters, etc. that I get from these guys.  All over an original balance of around $900 - now upwards of $1400 (according to them and their 30% default rates and penalties).

Simply astounding.

I remember one time in the late '90s when I was working for a prosperous .com start-up, as part of a revenue forecasting project, we calculated how much it actually cost to make the phone ring (incoming / inside sales) based on overhead, etc.  Answer: $100/per call.  And that was regardless of a sale - just as many sales inquiries came in as general questions, complaints and billing / accounts receivable issues.

Blood sucking, scum sucking, bottom feeding, sub human, soulless retards.

B of A can rot in hell.

Debt Collector
I have gotten out of everyone about 6 months just telling them I'm filing for bankruptcy. "Bank of America"... Right.

So get this, we closed the corporate account and do to some glitch $2 was left in the account. So rather than to send the check, they said that they couldn't close the account (Mind you this is being told to us 6 months later) and that because the account was not closed properly they filed with ChekEx and canceled out our ability to get a bank account. The best part about it was that the cehckex thing requires that the balance be $150.00. So the +$2.00 gets an account fee of $15.00 charged to it. Then a $35.00 NFS fee.

It is truly amazing BofA how you couldn't have a Teller call us during our move and get it straitened out. You couldn't close the account until you took care of your $2. So BofA, FuK YOU and the $250,000 I owed you. May you and your families family live forever in convalescent homes.

a scumbag is someone that doesnt pay their bills.  yes it is B of A - trying to collect a DEBT!  that is what they get paid for - amazing how irritated people get when someone wants collect a debt that they are owed.  but at the same time - if you consider the pres./ceo of B of A was paid 25 million last year to run the company in the ground - well, i could have done that for a mere 5 million - and with the other 20 million, paid off all the outstanding debts/debtors. :)

Consistantly calling at all hours - must be cyberspace beings with nothing else to do - annoying to say the least.

Why can't this stopped??  Who do we contact??  I noticed, mostly cell phones are being called.  Changing your number doesn't help.

It is spam, harassment, whatever you want to call it..
1000 calls in the last two months..  all hours of the day.
All different telephone numbers

don't believe me?
The reason they can do this is that no one can track their calls/ catch them, like one could do with an IP address to a geographical location.

Do you to think it's actually sprint, verizon, and bank of america?

Then read all the s*** that people have posted on this site.

I know how frustrating it is getting these calls.

They should not be asking you for your whole SS#. I am usually asked to either:
1. What are the last four digits of my SS#
2. What are the last four digits of my telephone number (this one gets me, they just called me and they want to know the last four digits of phone #?)

Hang in there Hot Rod, I know exactly where you are coming from. These people are always calling my cell phone, so now I just screen my calls, if it is a 714, 216 area code I won't answer.

It's Bank of America credit card collections, if you owe money, or are late this is one of the numbers that they will call from. Other number can be 2158766187. I have a BoA credit card that I have to admit I messed up, due to being laid off and no work in my area. They call non stop, sometimes over 10 times in a day, and even on Sundays, they are relentless, so I finally just told them that I no longer live here, and that I don't know where I am. They still called but the class slowly stopped over a week. I go one day without a call from them and then I get the above listed calling me twice today so far. Looks like I am going to tell them the same thing.

Here is a link to the other number I listed:
