These morons are using legitimate companies to hide behind, that's the reason for all the different caller ID's  This sounds like a scam   Best bet is to get it in writing!

I received a letter from Daryle Porter from The Andersen Group and did some research on him.   He has a mug shot online in Dade County, Florida.   He was arrested for fraud.    Don't let him scare you.

I keep getting phone calls from 800-257-5786 (x5726) and (800-300-6715) from The Andersen Group, by a Mr. Daryl Porter, who is rude, arrogant and threatening in his attempts to collect money.  He says his "client" will be advised to "move forward" legally for a debt that I owed.   He instructs me to send payment within 5 days or they will forward "this claim to a Commercial law league attorney (what is that?)."    Well, this is one big SCAM because the debt they are referring to is being handled through a local attorney and all payments are being made on a payment plan and the payment plan is current so I know he is just blowing smoke.   Don't let these bozos scare you - they are just trying to scare people into sending them money.   DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY!    Oh yes - I got the letter too that said they have "completed a preliminary asset & Liability investigation of our company and it has been determined that there is sufficient assets to warrant proceedings."   What a bunch of BS!    It's all just scare tactics and nothing more.    I have never answered any of their letters or called them.    When I answer the phone and it's Daryle Porter I tell him to drop dead and never call me again.    He did stop calling so frequently, but the threatening letters still come in hopes of scaring me into sending him money.    After ignorning all his threats and phone calls, nothing has ever happened.    DON'T LET THESE PEOPLE SCARE YOU.

We received a call from Kevin O'Brien telling us that he would be coming to our home to do an "asset and liabilities inventory" and that he was hired by Dan Walker at Alazander Associates.  They both acted without really saying that we were being sued.  We were given an 877 number.   Sounds like dirty collection agency tactics.  Bottom dwellers!!!  Please post any outcomes to the threats by Mr. O'Brien or Alazander Associates.

I got a letter from Daryl Porter from The Anderson Group (800-257-5786, Metairie, LA) stating he was trying to collect money that I owed to his "client" and that I needed to call him immediately to settle the debt.    But I had already settled the debt months ago so I knew these folks were lying.   I called Daryl Porter back and tried to get some information out of them to confirm my suspicions.   Sure enough - they are a bunch of thugs out to scare people into paying up on a debt.   They will take the money and run with it - don't deal with them.   When I confronted him and told him the debt was already satisfied so how could he be "hired"  he hung up and I never heard from him again.  Thugs.

This Kevin O Brian Called me today said he was with C.S.I  And was hired  By James Bocman And He was coming out to To inventory and to asset  properties. I told him to come on out. My Dog will be glad to hang on too them until the Police get here.

Wow! This guy mike is a real smart guy. He called our church office saying the same things, such as he was representing a company named RAP, and that if we wanted to know what it was about and how far they were in their investigation were, we  could give him or the supposed guy who ordered this assets investigation Mike Wigman a call. When I hard his voice an alarm went off in my head so I got on line to see if this fella was legit of course thats how I found all of your complaints too. I think this man is working a illegitimate ring to get gullible and easy targeted people and  companies and ministries to rob in the name of the law. Well all I can say is that the last time I was illegitimately contacted by a so called collection agency, I found an attorney who sued them, and I won the case and they had to pay me and my attorneys. I think think I will look that attorney up again and post it when I find it so all of you guys can sue him for illegal collection practices as well as have him arrested for impersonating a real debt collector by means of defrauding. This guy called our church again and said he was with one of the billboard companies we advertise through. So now he has changed his story as to who he represents now. I think he targets people that he thinks has money and preys on them. Well he better pray that he leaves us alone because I will take it to the media in the likes on major media platforms such as CNN, Fox and the like. Hope this helps you guys out.

My sister works as a debt collector and she said they HAVE to give you something in the mail or fax but if you request it they have to give it to you. I would look at the Federal Commission site about debt collectors and your writes.

My husband just received a call and he can't remember the names because he had no idea what this guy was talking about. This first time he called he has been blocking his numbers so we are unable to see the numbers. He told my husband that he was so and so a PI collecting a debt for so and so (hubby can't remember the name) he told the guy he has no idea what he is talking about because we have never received anything in the mail. Well today he calls and say's is this (my husbands company name) and my husband thought it was a job so he said yea and then the guys ask do you have a fax number and my husband says yes and he says can I get that. My husband gives him the number and then the guy hangs up on him.  I have not got anything from this person.  My husband thought the guy said the last name started with a "P" and it seem so similar to what everyone else is saying. I am worried but figured if they are going to sue me then I would get paperwork from a sheriff at my house. Let the guy come here he will regret that!

Has anyone ever heard from the collection folks since they "talked" on the phone?  If you ignored the first phone call and you ignored their claim of you owing, has there been any small claims or civil lawsuit since?

Also, the collectors in the first contact now say "the outstanding debt is being reported to credit agencies".  Has anyone noticed their credit reports being harmed since you heard this?

And, regardless of phone calls and emails, aren't the collectors required to notify us in writing of the credit report consequences BEFORE they report it to the agencies?

(For myself, a legitimate business submitted a phony debt to these collectors for work I did not authorize or buy)

Whatever happened with this? I just got a call from Kevin O'Brien saying the same stuff, however the company who hired him is LCJ Consultants. I googled LCJ and found they are in Bogalusa, LA. We live and our business is in SC. Would I still report these two to the LA state police? When Kevin called it was a Private number so I don't know where he is located. Thanks for the info in your post, I won't let them bully me.

This time he is calling himself "Kevin Elliot"...  But Paul Brinks with the Ethan Company hired him, and he assumes that I know Paul Brinks...  He left an 877 number and a reference number.  I will be calling Mr. Brinks to advise him or his team of investigators not to come on PRIVATE PROPERTY in Texas.

Got a call rom Kevin O'Brien today also he is a P O S if he comes to our location he will meet a high caliber hand gun he can count the slugs in his torso

Our shop received a call from this Kevin O?Brian today as well, said he would be onsite Thursday to do an asset inventory, no problem, we have some of our local Police Officers that work in the shop.. looking forward to meeting him!

I received a call this morning at about 7:16 on my cell phone.  The caller by the name of "Kevin O'Brien" left me a message stating that I was to call Shane Scott and that he would be out to my location Monday at 1:00.  I called this Shane Scott with Alazander Associates (http://www.alexassocfamily.com/) and he told me I personally signed a contract with this equipment company (which I NEVER personally guarantee anything).  He also told me he was an attorney and that he would file his case today if this was not settled.  He offered no settlement amount expect the full balance.  After hearing that, I questioned him to find out who this attorney was that he worked for and he quickly told me Kevin A. Schichel.  I then asked what states he was licensed in, and he told me LA, MO, KE.  I went to each states BAR association to check his license, and no such name existed.  THIS IS A COLLECTIONS AGENGY (even says on their website if you read it completely).  Shortly after my discovery, I called my local Sheriff's Department and they told me that in no way was anyone allowed on my property to conduct any investigation without a proper court order.  Now enraged, I quickly found out where this "Alazander Associates" office was and I called their local police department.  I had them cited for non-compliance of Federal law which states that debt collectors are to advise you that you are calling a debt collector, and any information will be used for that purpose.  I also advised the police department that they are posing at attorneys and I let Lacey there know what they had done.  Lacey (disbatcher of the police department) filed my pre-lim report and is putting me in touch with a Deputy.  I called this Shane Scott back and told him I didnt appreciate being lied to, and that his collections practices were unethical and low.  I am working on getting this company shut down.  PLEASE BEWARE EVERYONE!!!!  Dont fall for these low and out-right dirty collections practices.  I am not a fool, and I am also not one to be messed with.

I had this same guy call me today and leave the the same message " I'm Kevin O'brien I'm a PI hired by Nick Fox I'm sure you know who he is. We are conducting a behind the scenes investigation into your Company and will be sending an investigator into your Business on Friday at 1pm to a***s your stock value and business. I have the number here for Mr Fox its 888-830-3170 and your claim number is @*#^$^$. I called and spoke with a Mr. Fox who proceeded to tell me I owe a small amount of money to a Canadian Supplier. I asked him to email me the info and a mailing address. He did and I proceeded to question Mr. Fox about this PI Kevin O'brien and his associate that was coming to visit me. I requested what Company Mr O'brien works for and what his PI license # was. At that point Mr. Fox then said he couldn't give me that information. I then called the LA state police to report this and they are investigating the matter.

These tactics are not legal and are unethical if you get this same call then call the Louisiana state police.

Times are tough and we are behind on some bills. There was no statement that they were calling as a collection agency. To me, Shane Scott acted as if he were an attorney and his "client" was going to file suit in court and they were needing to obtain this information in preparation for a court case.

This is a collection scam, and I fell for it out of being terrified that I was going to be sued.

The same thing just happened to me, little information was given except Ethan and Assoc. Seems like a scare tatics.

I received a call from Kevin O'Brien saying that he is a private investigator and was hired by a Paul Brinks, and that an investigative team would be coming out to our 2 properties to do an asset and liablility.  We told him that they may not come out and if someone showed up we would be calling the police.  He told us he was hired by this Paul Brinks and gave us a number of  800-830-3170.  When we further questioned who his company was he hung up. When we called 800-830-3170 It was a company called Eathen and Associates located in Mandeville LA.  When we called them, they said they are a debt collection, and we told them also not to send anyone on our property. They said the were going to send them and they would be calling our banks, and have every right to take pictures of what ever they want to.  Obviously we have contacted an attorney, we will see what happens.

I posted earlier in this thread.  This guy is a creditor and (in my opinion) is trying to use scare tactics to collect monies owed to them.  Check your credit report to see if you have anything outstanding or if someone has been using your name/credit.

Followup to earlier post: made a police report (at their suggestion).  Attorney says that this O'Brien character is calling from Missouri and has no authority in Michigan; if he shows up, have him arrested!
