I just received a call saying I won $ 250,000 and they needed $299 to send me this check. I told them I needed to verify this first, I call Bank of America and it is a scam.

I recieved a call from Bank of America and was told by a Jamacian sounding man that I won second prize in a random drawing "sweepstakes" that I entered long ago (couldn't really remember). My second prize winnings were tax free, payable cashiers check for $550,000.00. All I had to do to get the check delivered via courier, was to take a $475.00 check to Western Union, payable to "Kayann Darby". After I returned home with the receipt, I could call the 716-200-4951 number and have the $550,000 check delivered...how easy, wow!

"James Miller" called and said that a branch of Bank of America wouldn't know anything about my sweepstakes winnings (that I don't recall entering) so I shouldn't contact them for information, and that I could only pay my $475 insurance fee at a Western Union and not a Bank of America.

I'm getting these calls too, also from "Bank of America", but I got the Jamaican version at extension 204.
Variety must be the spice of fraud.

They claimed to be Bank of America and when I asked what branch they couldn't answer. They wanted 375.00 for insurance and transfer fees for a sweepstakes win. It was a James Miller and the transfer was to go to a Clifton Turner 07106..........a Trisha Johnson then came on the line.
