Same Guy called me as well. Told me I was going to jail if I didn't take care of this has been calling for months and is so annoying. Nothing has happened I'm not paying a dime either. Calls my work and tells them I'm going to jail unless he talks to me.

Called today from 716-235-2759.  Similar story.  Claim to be investigators and that I was the victim of fraud.  Claimed they were "Northeast Litigations."  I wasn't able to find any results for the number listed; this thread was the closest and falls right in line with what everyone else has said, so I suspect they are the same people.  They asked I call back at 855-817-0705.  (855 is a new toll-free area code.)  If they call you, ignore them.  They're going on my block list immediately.

Been calling me for months with threats.  I know a POS debt collector when I hear one.  They wont get a dime out of me because they arent licensed in my state.  If they were a legitimate collector they wouldnt have to break every law in the FDCPA when they called.

Received a call today From Lead detective John Capole.. Telling me that my social security number and bank account have been compromised.. According to the message i must call immediately with this account number(yes he said account number vs case number)..   Isn't impersonating a police officer against the law...?
Should i file a complaint with my local law enforcement?

I am having the same problem! I have a cell # that someone else used to have. This JEC group is constantly trying to reach that person, eventhough I have told them several times, I am not that person! So frustrating!

JEC Group is actually a part of a company called Northtown Capital. These guys are simply people who purchase debt and then try to scare you into paying.

This one clown actually tried to ask me if I was calling because charges were being pressed against me. I laughed and said that if he was really an "attorney" then he would know that threatening criminal prosecution in the process of collecting a debt is completely illegal..

got a call that said I was the victim of fraud on an old bank account with Brotherhood bank back in 2008. I never had an account with this bank...ever! gave me the #716-235-1006 ex 607 to call back and a file # to ref. I don't think so!!!

Ok, so 8 days ago they called pretending to be process servers.  THEN they called pretending someone stole my identity.  NOW they call back AGAIN pretending to be process servers yet again.  I swear, if one was to gauge the IQ of this company it would be about a 3.  I mean, if ONE process server didnt come to my "place of business", why the h**l would another.  These guys are laughable.  The true laughing stock of the debt collection business.  Ooooooo Im soooooooo scared hahaha!!  Im shaking in my birkenstocks hahaha!!!  Look JEC, the BEST thing you can do is throw my file in the trash because I can PROMISE you that you will get NOWHERE with it...you are wasting your time.

Look, these guys call me about once a week or once every two weeks or so (for some stuff I was never involved in and can prove so and have proved to them many times but it makes no difference)  and have called me for quite some time..I use it for a bit of comedy or light humor in my life  now, after receiving calls for so long, as they are always "within" a couple of days of "sending my case to my county court" LOL...after nearly 2 years of the same threats man, it dont bother you anymore hahaha!!!! They pretend to be "an investigator" or a "law office" or even a "process server" and to the contrary, the fact is that they are NONE of those three things.  All they are is a debt collector, trying to pretend to be Johnny Law to collect money from you.  Dont give them ANYTHING.  No bank account numbers, shoot, dont even give them your real name.  Tell them you are John Doe or something.  The reason these scam companies are even able to exist is because people keep paying them money out of fear, so DONT PAY THEM ANYTHING!!!!!!!!  If you dont believe me, GOOGLE the name  "BUD HIBBS"....ask Bud, he's a LAWYER, a real lawyer not like these clowns, and Im sure he knows all about "JEC LAW FIRM", which is really NORTHTOWN CAPITAL (a debt collector) and ICS (another VERY shady collector)...google anything about this scam and you will always come back to the fact that these guys are fakes.  Please lay a lawsuit on these guys if you can for violating the FDCPA...we need to wipe them out.

We purchased a cell phone and had the misfortune of the phone having been used by someone who "JEC" is trying to reach. Even though we told them we are not the person they are looking for they continue to leave threatening messages. This company harrasses innocent people and needs a class action lawsuit against them!

I recieved a call from a Mr Davis who told me i owed a debt with a payday loan company and that i had to pay now told i cant, they said that i will be sued if i did not pay in full... i google them and in fact they are a collection agency out of buffalo however they did give me everything in writing and i paid the debt and they sent me another letter that it was paid and then at that time i was able to update my credit reports...SO THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS ... people just pay your debt  and stop trying to get out of it my motto for 2011 is to get  out of my parents house !!!!

that's because they don't have any. they need proof such as real signatures, receipts,copy of the assigment from the  original creditor, etc.  if they do try to sue you, you will need a lawyer because defending yourself is like doing an operation on yourself. so, if you get a judgment, don't ignore it. immediately call a lawyer. if you can't afford one, try legal aid in your area.

I received a call from 716-235-1006 extension 633. They have been calling me about a payday loan and said that they were going to subpoena me for fraud, etc. if I don't call them back and pay them what I supposedly owe. What should I do? What numbers should I call to fight against this JEC Law Office. I know they are not legit because they refuse to give me any information about my alleged debt.

I received a call from 716-235-1006 looking for a family member claiming they are involved in a check fraud case.  They left their phone number and a case ID number saying they are about to serve a warrant for my family members arrest and that they should contact them.

I received yet another call at my place of employment from JEC Law Office, stating that I had 48 hrs to respond to their phone contact before pursuing the "case" against me in COLLINS court.  So I guess it doesn't matter about a cease and dissist letter.  They still call, they think that trying to embarrass me is going to make me pay up?  Really? Such idiots.  Intimidation doesn't work for me.  Since when do you get a heads up via phone that you are being taken to court.

I got a call this morning from (716) 235-1006, it was about a medical bill from 2005 that had been written off in 2006. When they called i was told by a "paralegal" that i was being sued and prosecuted in January if i don't pay 1,300 dollars  by December 31st( i live in California, they said i had to go to court in buffalo new york..made sense because i was in the hospital for 3 weeks in Pennsylvania in 2005)... Well im 22 years old, so when she told me i was being sued i started asking a thousand questions at once and she started stuttering over her words and said miss hold please im transferring you to my "attorney". When John Davis attorney for JEC law firm got on the phone he told me that i was being sued for my past medical bills just like the girl said before, i told him there was no way in hell that that could be true because i bought a car this year on a clean credit, he replied with yes, i see that you purchased a car on may 1st, that freaked me out big time, so i told him i couldn't pay that i would get back to him in a few days he then told me that the IRS was going to garnish my wages through Starbucks, (i had not told him my place of employment.) he told me that my soon to be husbands credit would be ruined when we get married if i didn't pay as well.(i didn't tell him i was engaged but i am...) so then i started to panic and said okay fine you can have my visa card number, he then transferred me to his "Secretary" Helen White, she took my visa number then she told me i would receive an email, she told me my email address (i had not giving that to them) and it was correct and that the payment will go through on Dec 31st. we hung up i sat there for a few minutes called my mom who works at a hospital and on the same floor as the hospitals attorney, she told my mom that i have to be served with papers long before a court date and that i was most likely a victim of fraud to go to my bank and police station right away, she was right i was a victim of fraud. this company is fake, they are not real attorneys, they purchase old write offs from third party companies for as little as a penny and try and scare you into paying the non-existent bill.
