We have been receiving calls from a Johnny Hawk who is in prison.  He has been calling since 4-12-14 that day alone he called 9 times.  When my mother answer the 3rd time he call it was a prepaid call that is why she answered the call. This man ask for the last 4 numbers of her number, she told him he called he should know the number and she isn't giving the number. When I answered the call I press 4 to block the number.  I do have my brother that is in prison he doesn't know anyone by that name.  He called my other brother also.  Today he called again my husband would just hang up. At 7 PM tonight I answered the phone someone ask for me by name, I spoke with him he told me that Johnny Hawk will be call me. I told him to tell Johnny that do not know him and I didn't call the Sheriff dept. yet but i will call Monday.  So for he hasn't called. I hope that worked.

Didn't listen first time, cost me $1 in phone charges.. Called back and they said Welcome to Paytel. Please enter your 10 digit phone number. I figured it would stop them, so I did. They said thank you for calling Paytel and disconnected. Now I see they are a prison or fraud? Calling for money? Maybe, but they're sol. I'm on a prepaid phone! lol

Funny the call I got from this number said it was from the Montgomery County jail in Ohio. The recording is obviously changed based on where we live!

Tried to block through their menu via a four digit PIN they gave, but it would accept it - several times. Tried customer service and gave up after 20 minutes hold.  Came in on my cell. Probably robodialler since number is private. Illegal to do that to cell!

Called me more than 30 TIMES over a 3 day period! Always leaving the same "press 2 if you'd like to speak to an agent, 3 if you'd like calls to stop" Had to turn my phone off!

Received over 30 calls from this number in the last 3 days. Reported them all to the Do Not Call Center so hopefully there's a nice fine coming someones way.

I keep getting calls from jail inmate(s) for collect calls. This is incredibly annoying.

Got 34 calls within minutes of each other and my TrapCall says its from Craven County Jail.  I googled it and North Carolina has such a jail, but I don't know anyone in NC, or even anyone that would drive through that area.  S C A M ....

I just got a call from this number stating it was a collect call from "Vincent". I hung up.  I have had this number for over 10 years and have never gotten a call like that. If you get one, don't answer!

Got a call from this number 10:15 at night  no message left other than to accept press 1 to decline press 2.

Have gotten over 25 calls from this number. Difficult to understand but have picked up a few times and have gotten voicemails from them several times as well. I know nobody in jail and need the number to stop calling.

I'm a Police Officer and nobody in jail has my number or would I give it to anyone in jail. It's just a stunt to get money!

I got 2 calls today from this number that I did not answer.  After googling and finding out that it was most likely from someone in jail.  I was concerned that someone I know needs help.  I called the 800-729-8355 and after several menus and a long wait I was able to speak to a person that was able to tell me the city and state.  This is helping me figure out who and where they are.  I thought I would post this info so that it may help someone else in finding out if and who is trying to reach you is someone you know.

have been receiving 10 to 15 calls a day from this number. It says I have set up an account with my number it asks for a 10 digit pin to get to the next step. I looked it up on line and the number belongs to pay-tel alright. No one to speak with no way to speak to anyone. I faxed them a letter letting them know that I do not have an account and that my phone number is my personal residence number. I wrote to them to stop the calls or I will have to take further action. 2 days later and I am still getting the calls. Call it back and It is completely automated and no way to stop the calls that I can tell. I don't know any one in jail and no one that I know has my number except my significant other. All I can do to keep my sanity is to shut my ringer off. any other ideas would be of great help.
I think it is a scam. Tying to scare you into paying them money. There are so many new tricks out there. There are machines that people are buying to to make what ever number they want to come up on your caller I.D. You cant trust anything you once knew to be true. lots of scams and I believe this is one!!!!!

I have a new number and started getting these calls. No one has the number so  it must be a wrong number. Please stop calling!
