Same thing her says they need a statement  or talk to my attorney. And also says they have papers to file They said they were from America Holding. I have no idea who these people are or why they are calling. It sounds like it is scripted and alot like another number that calls and leaves messages but when answered there is no one on the line.

I too recieved a call from a Jay  Scott about an old pay day loan account i forgot about.  I wanted to do research before I pay Did anyone else have to sign that letter thingy ? I thaught that was a little strange i never had to do that before but it made me feel better about paying this gentleman.I was told to never pay with out a letter because of scams. He was nicer than other jerks from collection agencies thats for sure.  Anyways... did anyone pay this guy? If so was it removed off your credit report?

I just recieved a phone call from Jay Scott and i wanted to look up his # to make sure it wasnt a scam. I was in regards to an over draft with my bank. He was acually a pretty cool guy  he saved me 300$ and sent me letter even before i  paid. I verified with bank as well and his company did have my accunt.website is northamericanholdingsny.com .   It seems like most of you guys are just tryign to find an excuse not to pay your bill.  Stop being a drain on the economy and just pay your god damn bills !!!!

j scott called me from 716 235 2361 said  he was collecting money that i was being sued for he told me i should pan handle,pawn valuables off,beg or borrow money from anyone i kno the only thing he didnt tell me to do was prostitute myself.was very rude and argumentive made threats i would be sued for frueding a bank even tho i have got nothing in the mail.asked about info about my son got pissed when i would not give him the info he wanted.also threted to turn me into the irs for babysitting and not filing a 1099

Yup - I'm sure you're correct!   I am sure the scammer would love to have the SS# "corrected" by the intended victim!  But the possibility still exists that his random digits are, in fact, someone else's SS#.

Could it be that he has the name and... 9 random digits that aren't necessarily *anyone's* SS number? (Of course, he'll be happy to correct it if you give him your real SS#.)

These people are criminal scammers, probably not located in the US.  Do not give them any information or money!  If they claim you owe a debt, then insist they mail you a debt validation letter.  They probably will not do that.  Learn your rights under the FDCPA and don't let them scam you!

What was the outcome

They called me too and said they were getting ready to file a judgement and I paid them.  I am fighting it out with them and my bank now.  I think I will let them go ahead and file a judgment and see them in court.  I am giving thier number to the attorney general's office in my state.
