This is so funny. I now for a fact that I do not owe what this company says I owe. I pay my bills. I have a good job and I am not on goverment assistance. my credit score is in the 700's. Trying to talk to the UNEDUCATED piles of s*** that work for Robert James & Assoc.is an absolute joke. Do what you want, threaten, harrass, whatever. I will just sit back and laugh. Got a call on August 3, 2011, stating that my son owed 2,000 in pay day loan, and they will settle for $600.00, and if they don't receive any money that they will sue my son.  I  then paid $150.00 with my sister's visa card (I did not have one then).  A month later, they took 260.00 out of my sister's visa card without permission. I then call 716-242-7591 and spoke to someone called Bobby Craw (I don't think that his real name).  I asked him for paperwork, but he insisted that he will fax and mail it but he never did. By this time I had a credit card.  He then insisted that will file court papers against my son if I don't pay something down.  I then paid $50.00 down from my credit card.  Couple day later the same person called (Bobby Craw) me back an insisted I pay $400.00 or else my son will be taken to court.  I then paid $250.00 from my credit card.
When I did not received any paperwork I  realized I was deceived and scammed.  I alerted my credit card service and cancelled my credit car.

I got a phone call (716-748-7339) saying that I was facing a lawsuit for a loan for $900. The lady said it was done last year. She had some of my information correct, which makes me nervous and other information was completely incorrect on my banking info and current job. And they was calling family members that I never gave out there numbers.  I don't know how they got their numbers. She said she was basically from a third party collection agency. Said I needed to make a payment of $75 or get sue. She ask we for a Credit card #. These peoples was calling me at 6am. Told her to sent me info on this debt and she never did. And she keep calling me after I told her to send me info on this debt that they say I owe. She never gave me an account number to this so called debt.
I think I just got scam.

My experience with Robert James and Associates wasn't horrible. Yes they called a few of my family members which sucked but they didn't give out my SSN or any of my info, they just basically gave their number and asked me to call them. I didn't and they finally called my job and I did end up speaking with them. They told me I had an outstanding debt of 900+ for a payday loan that I took out about 6 months ago. They said if I can come up with a plan to pay them back as soon as possible then they would see what they can do for me. I told them I could pay 350 before the end of the month ($175 on each of 2 pay periods). They said if I can do that then they can settle my debt for the original amount of $465 which means I would only have to make one more payment after that of $115 -GREAT. Honestly, they didn't come off as scammers at all. The company they said I owed was correct and yes I did owe the debt. Like a lot of people I fell on hard times but it was nice that I could speak to them without them making me feel like a do***e bag for not paying my bills. They even messed up the amount on my last payment (they were saying $165 instead of $115) and the guy immediately called me back with the correct amount.

I do NOT work for this company, nor do I care about the personal lives of it's owners. If you do owe the debt they are calling about I highly suggest you work it out with them.

Wow, if that guy posting in all caps really works for those people, I understand all too well what worms they must be.  Well, I, for one, want everything in writing.  True legal debt collectors have a paper trail.  They send letters with information from the original creditor.  Calling me from unknown and fake phone numbers makes me think you're shady.  Lying to me and not being able to tell me anything about my original debt makes me think you are shady.  Telling me you're about to sue then when I don't respond and then you start stalker calling me again (why don't you sue already??) makes me think you are shady.  The payday loan I had had rolled over on me like 20 times.  I've paid that money back and then some, particularly since the loan is actually ILLEGAL in my state.  That don't have a leg to stand on with me.  They might as well give up.

Anthony Coppola and Roy Hamilton started the company together, Coppola runs it and Hamilton just put up drug money to fund it initally, he doesnt work there so you will not succeed at getting a hold of him.,  Both have been arrested on more than one occasion for drug related charges, Coppola for dealing heroin and cocaine and Hamilton for conspiracy charges related to a cocaine ring in Lockport.  However... both "cooperated" with local drug enforcement agencies... aka they are SNITCHES and their arrest records have been brushed under the rug.  In fact Coppola snitched on his BEST FRIEND... rat b*****d.  Both are low life scum-bags from Lockport.  If you read their company's website it is actually quite comical because they uphold the highest possible ethical standards, yet if you know them you would know they are both untrustworthy criminals.
