I received an email from this guy "Scotfred Paul" , he told me he saw my resume and offered me a job. I though it was real at first, it didnt take long for me to figure out,,scammer! He said he couldnt talk on the phone but wanted to send me money to buy foster kids presents and it paid 400/week. What benefit would he have in this scam??? anyways, putting this out there in case he emails anyone else..

A guy also with the name 'Kelvin Curt' kcurt10142@gmail.com tried to scam me through a babysitting add on craigslist.  Luckily I trusted my gut and further researched internet scams before giving out any info.  I found the exact same e-mail this person tried to use on someone else.

The name of my scammer was Kelvin Curt and the text message AND the email came from a hotmail account.  Same deal... sending me extra money and I need to pay the "shipper".

I FORWARDED THE EMAIL TO ABUSE@CRAIGSLIST.COM  

I feel bad for elderly people who don't know better than to do this sort of thing.

I don't know who it is, but I'm trying to sell an item on Craigslist in St. Louis and a scammer sent 7163815517 as their phone number. The name on the E-mail says ruse jones.

Thank goodness this thread is available. I received the same sort of response to my craigslist posting. This one was from Ruse Jones. In God we Trust-all others pay cash!

Ruse Jones emailed me about my item on Craig's List in Tampa, FL  Same story other posters have documented.  Thanks for putting this information out for potential "suckers".

Did you ever get back with Nuchler Swifer? Is it a scam? I got an email from a Nuchler Swifer too, and have not replied. He just asked if the item was still available. I think if he was interested in the item, he would have asked for the particular item, so I haven't replied.

Same thing is currently happening to me but I have not provided squat and glad I looked things up first.  I don't need problems.  Any way to report this person?  If so to whom?

hahahaha i got the same phone number (which is who i found this thread), and the guy (who now apparently goes by Andrew Stevens) has offered the same $50 extra to hold the item for him and take it off craigslist. as with everyone else, he/she/it requested my name and address. ya right!!

Got someone on craigslist trying to buy something from me here's the name and email address it came from Nuchler Swifer <swif101@gmail.com>, they gave this # as a contact as well.

I got a mail from this guy too.  He wanted to buy the item I posted on Craigslist and was willing to give $50 extra if I put down the add.  He asked my name and address and phone number which I stupidly provided.
On the next e-mail he said that he hasn't paid the shipping company and would send me a check that includes both the shipping fee and my item price.
I replied to him no thanks.
I asked my bank and was told that if I were to cash in the check he's going to give, I will be responsible for the amount. Meaning I will not get my money plus I will actually be paying "the shipping company".
Do you know what kind of information people can get simply from name and mailing address?

I'm getting the same thing.  A guy calling himself John Dipsy is using the phone number 7163815517 and saying he wants to buy something from me off Craigslist in Portland and then offers to pay me $50 extra to pull the listing off and wait for him to send a money order.  Says he needs my name, address, and phone number.  Definitely sounds like a scammer.

I am got the same thing.  Unfortunately I cashed the check he sent me.  I waited for CHASE to clear the check, which they did, and then a week later took the money out of my account.

Take note of this as CHASE is trying to tell me that even though they cleared the check they are not responsible.

I have the same problem. I'm seelling on craigslist and this Lioniel Mason (lionielmason@gmail.com) with phone # 716-381-5517 is saying that he will pay an extra $50.00 if I take my ad off and that he needs my name address and phone #. these people need to be stopped! I have not received any calls though I have my # listed on the ad.

He's going by David Wudson.  Just got the same song and dance for a futon I'm selling.

I posted in Chicago and have been hounded for the last two days by Lioniel Mason. Zabasearch brought no information. I, however, told him everything that was already in my post: my name, number and address. He never signs the emails but he returned with this email.

I got an email from two fraudsters about a posting on craigslist. ruse jones rusejones01@gmail.com AND john williams yuoterget@gmail.com. I wanted to add this new John alias to the list, since it wasn't yet in any Google scam searches. Same song, assistant will send check, extra money, etc.....

We've just received the same type of info from the same email, the cashier's check today, from Brooklyn, Mi, sent from CA yesterday...HUM? how does that happen?  I looked up the address that the check was FEDEXed from and it was just a bunch of Apartments for sale in Hayward,CA.  I'm willing to proceed with Federal presecution for mail fraud and Felony Forgery, since the check this individual sent was for over 2K.  What info do you have?

We've got this guy on the hook now and  I want to put this individual in jail.  I'm retired from the Kentucky State Police and have the contacts I need from the Federal Government to investigating this matter.  Same scam but this struck the wrong individual, so the sting is on.  What info do you have.

I POSTED AN ADD ON CRAIGSLIST AND RUSE JONES REPLIED. HE TOLD ME TAKE MY LISTING OFF AND WOULD PAY ME $50 MORE THAN THE ASKING PRICE IF I TOOK MY ITEM OFF, ALSO WANTED PHOTOS. HE THEN SENT ME A CHECK FOR $2,450.35. I TOOK IT TO THE BANK AS I KNEW IT WAS A SCAM. I WAS HOPING THEY COULD TRACK THE CHECK, BUT WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I CALLED UPS AS IT WAS DELIVERED  BY UPS AND GOT NO RESPONSE. IS THERE ANY WAY TO STOP THIS PERSON! I KNOW THIS IS A SCAM BUT THERE MAY BE PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT WILL THINK THIS IS LEGIT.

I received a response from this individual as well.

Wanted me to pay moving company if he sent a check to me to a total expense.

I'll play him a little while longer then drop the hammer on him.

I actually got the check from this guy.  It was a total fake.  I tracked the the packege he sent from Marietta, ga.  I will track this dumb f*** down
