who are these people?

THIS IS AN EXTORTION SCAM. Scammers pretend to be law enforcement (police, sheriff, Feds, AG's Office, fake cop agencies with made-up names) and may be using bought/hacked loan application data to extort money or personal info for fictitious crimes.

A guy just called and left a voicemail saying this was an "extremely urgent matter" and if I, or my attorney, didn't call back, then he couldn't be responsible for what was about to unfold on me!  I tried to call back, but it has been busy.  The number he left and the number on my caller ID was different so I called the caller ID number and it was a recording saying, "Emergency Management" and to leave a message.  This guy has called several times.

This person called saying that I was named in a law suit against me.  I told them if I were going to be sued, that papers had to be served in person.... I hung up.

have received several calls on my cell  phone and ignored them since I didn't know the number.  I did not return the calls then the guy started calling my work place.  He finally got me there and said papers were going to be filed in court the next day and I would be arrested  if I didn't send a payment of $1000 to a company who supposedly sent my money as a loan.
I told him I wanted proof of this loan since I did not borrow any money over the internet.  I told him I would not send money to just anybody who called especially money I  never borrowed.  I told him to send me proof, etc.

I received the same call...except he said he was sitting w/an attorney.  he told me if I didn't cooperate then he would prosecute me to the fullest extent of the law.  he was screaming at me and had the nerve to call 2 times.

This guy called and my husband started getting angry after the 8th time calling and told him to stop and we were going to report him and he threatened to F*** his wife SO ... at that point we knew it was a SCAM!!!!!!!!!

Yes I want to get these people for  harrassing me. they wont stop calling my phone its non stop. What should I do

i recviced a phone call from this number and they told me that if i didnt respond to them then they were going to throw me in jail. they also left me a voicemail and i have saved this voicemail. I dont understand how they get information from us or anyone else.

These people have stolen personal information of mine, like everything, by hacking into some websites. I have notified the FBI and their partner that works with internet crimes, www.ic3.gov, as well as my local police department, per the instructions of the FBI agent.  The local police stated that, yes, these numbers are coming through a voice bank (this is what he said it was called), and that these people are most likely in another country.  Once the call goes through "the bank,"  they are able to use these fake American phone numbers.  Unfortunately, the officer told me that because of this, catching them would be nearly impossible.

These people posed as a "crime prevention agency" and had an individual also pose as an attorney "in their office" that they transferred me to.  I asked for some proof and told them to go ahead and fax their information to me.  The information never came OF COURSE.  This was only one of many phone calls. I have received calls from other phone numbers, same people!  This was verified between my bank as well as the police.

this guy called me like eight times.  I told him to stop calling or I will notify authorities, he got the hint real fast and hung up.

Every time its the same Mid-Eastern guy asking for different people.  

He will even go as far as to say he is sitting with an FBI officer.
