CAN YOU PAY MY BILL TO THESE PEOPLE, YOU SEEM TO HAVE LOTS OF MONEY THE WAY YOU ARE POSTING

The lady Barbara called me during business hours left a irate message on my cell phone i have it for my lawyer , I returned her call, she did not read this is an attempt to collect a debt , she told me she was going to garnish my wages, I said in NC they do not allow that , she argued she would . She was the most rude person I ever dealt with. I said I have to go back to work, she said I thought you were not working today i said how do you know when I am at work and not at work She said I called your job , well I said you are in violation for that. We record all calls at my workplace so it can be pulled into court. She is too stupid to do research the debt is time barred  I called back for the address of this company and she would not give it to me. Well she said she would see me in court no Barabara I will see you in court for fair debt collection act violations.

They did the same thing to me. Caroline Cook called and left a message that she was a parallegal with the Hoffman Weinberg and obrien law firm.  She said there was serious allegations and a pending court summons.  When I questioned her she would not answer and then hung up.

This is a collection agency that called me looking for someone else.  The caller identifyed herself as "Carolyn Cook, a paralegal with the firm Hoffman, Weinberg, & O'Brien" looking for a Mr. Luc Nguyen.  I asked the caller for their business' address.  She hung-up on me.  I located them through the upstate New York Better Business Bureau as having the following address:

They have an UNSATISFACTORY rating according to the BBB.  Other than being lazy and calling the wrong people, they engage in the following improper tactics:

- they falsely imply they are attorneys (name of firm, caller identified herself as a "paralegal", and a message left on my answering machine said something about a court summons).
- they misrepresent the involvement of an attorney in collecting a debt.
- they harrass, call and hang-up (has happened at least 6 times)
- they would not properly identify themselves (refused to give me the business address of the firm)

They called and harassed my mom and said they were going to take me to court on a debt I already paid and they refused to give me their fax number for verification on the paid in full balance. Very rude. Do not not trust.

I work for a legal firm and these people are now harassing my family I have put in a claim with the BBB and am waiting to hear from the Distict Attorney of Arkansas.   I have had enough of these people. They also called my work and threatened me, when one of my attorneys instructed them to cease and desist they hung up on them.  I do believe we should all file complaints with our District Attorneys in order to get them to stop.

This company has called relatives and harassed them, they called and said I was in non compliance but when asked to supply thier address and what company they represent they refused

They have harrassed me at work, they called my employment and actually told the receptionist I was "going to jail"....they contacted other employees to track me down for a debt I have no idea what they are talking about and they will not give me information on it! They actually said to my boss I wont be in on Monday I will be in jail if I dont call back...my husband gave them "the call back"..Mr. Thomas will be sued for "defamation of character" if he persist...we need to fight back with these people, they have NO RIGHT by law or morally to state your going to jail...enough! If they wee a law firm that they claimed to be they would not be telling everyone you know your "going to jail" and that "you cant run from the law"...seriously? We need to tell them that they are going to jail..sooner then us!

Do you realize that this is a forum that helps others??  SOme of us DON"T OWE ANYTGHING!!!  and these people keep calling & harassing us.  It is really difficult to deal with when they call all the time!!!  I have no idea to get them to stop calling...if you have any advice on getting them to quit when you don't owe money, please enlighten us oh great one!!!  

Had I not googled & found this site, I would have no idea of the issues with this company.  Not everyone who complains owes money.  There are tons of credit fraud issues and this company seems to be one of those threats.  Thanks to those of you that have posted  helpful comments :)

Did you even bother to call back? Or did you just come here to complain? Perhaps if you'd honor your commitments or at least returned calls to work the matter out the poor slob wouldnt have to call relatives to try to contact you. Quit blaming the world for your problems and pay your debts!

He raised his voice to you so now you don't owe it? Insane! Call him back now and pay your bill so others dont have to with higher prices!!

Then for god's sake PAY IT. You coming here to complain just highlights the Amercian way of thought that if you cant afford to pay it, you dont owe it and shouldnt have to talk to anyone about it. Anyone calling you about money you owe is "harrassing" you. At least look up the word before using it. Quit making honest people like me have to pay your debts with higher prices deadbeat!! Moronic!

Misrepresents themselves as attorneys. THEY ARE A DEBT COLLECTOR.  

Joshua, an employee with his company, represents himself as a paralegal and they are consistently in violation of the Federal Trade Consumer laws. There are several complaints pending with the FTC and the BBB against this organization.   I encourage people who are being harassed unlawfully to log all calls, if you have a cell phone bill and they call that number, log the number of calls and dates.  File complaints and make similar postings. They advise of  false docket and case number and they call you from 7165970889/716-597-0887 and leave you a number 866-450-5702 to call back at. They say there is legal action pending against you.  They call repeatedly back to back and they calls at times which are unlawful.  They also yell at consumers when and if you call back to say they are violation and to contact via mail.  If you do call them and record the conversation make sure you advise them you are recording the conversation. Posting this for other consumer information.

They were going to have a summon's deliveried to my door the next day and gave a docket number. That I must return the call by 4:30 that day On October 2,2009. Even called my mother who is elderly worries about every thing and her number is private.

you shouldnt pay any of your bills in collection ...then maybe our country will be in better shape

they call me non-stop.. they are calling my family members, too. the are threatening me with legal action. if they are are going to sue me, then they should do it properly. all of this just to collect a $900 debt...

Received a call from this number with the following This Lucette saying she was a paralegal with the Hoffman firm and there was a summons to be filled out in my county for me and I needed to return this call as soon as possible. They also called my mother and husband and they were highly upset. Myhusband returned the call and the lady was very nasty gave him all my information he did not have to prove who he was. She said if I do not call her back they will get an attorney in Florida and sue me. My husband ask why they would spend $50000 to get back 1500. I will not be calling these people.

Received a call from this number a few different times asking for my brother in law we have told these people numerous times he does not live here has never lived with us and we dont have contact with him then hung up the man on the other end called  right back he swore at me told me to stop running my mouth to shut up and listen by the end of the call he said some very sexual explict things to me. These people have to be stopped this is total harassment I don't owe anything and should not be subjected to this kind of calls (or anyone else) let alone my 13 year old which he swore at also.

I received a phone message from Carolyn Cook @ HOffman, Wienburg and O'brien
about a relative and said I need to get in touch with them because they could
not get in touch with the person they need.  I have not phoned back. They

I have been receiving call from a Mr. Lopez supposedly about a debt that my son in law owes. He is very rude, and arrogant. I told him my son in law doesn't live here. But he still keeps calling. This is the third day in a row. He hangs up when he doesn't like the way the conversation goes. He has asked for information, that I would no way give him. He presents himself as an attorney. But when I ask him if he was an attorney, he hung up on me. I think I will call the Pa. Attorney Generals office..

I was called also by them.

They did know about an old debt.

They wanted my credit card number.

After he raised his voice to me, I cursed him out and hung up.

They called me ironically after I had pulled my credit report and had already taken care of two old debts.  They said this was for one of the debts that shows paid on my credit report.  I was scared and nervous about the legal suit they threatened and set up payment arrangements with them.  I paid $204, stopped the second and third $204.  How they are calling yelling and threating to triple my debt.  I just got off the phone with them and thought I would check them out on line and this is where I wound up.  I was going to call on Friday and pay the balance but I dont believe I will.  Is that additional $200 going to completly sink my credit.  I own my home just bought a new car so I'm set for awhile, and it obviously didn't stop me from doing that....Good Luck to anyone who has to deal with them...

They called on two different phone lines and said the same messenge a Paralegal named Josh called both times. I just remembered this call because it was 3rd time that morning October 2, 2009

Oh, thank you!  How could all of us have been so stupid?  I guess if a debt collector calls me, I must owe money because everything they have on file is 100% accurate.

If all you people just paid your bills, debt collectors would be out of work! Think about it.

I recieved a call from this company today at 2:01 pm. They asked for a Martha "my last name" and I said they had the wrong number, the man then asked if i was "my name" and I said yes. He then started asking if i was related to or knew a martha and a list of other names. I said no and hung up.

I have received numerous calls from this number from a guy who will not identify himself.  He proceeds to tell me that they are sending me a summons from my county of residence and are going to sue me.  I told the guy that I need documentation of the original debt and he got rude and cussed me out.  They call me every day, sometimes 3-4 times.  I am so sick of them calling! I have decided that every time they call I am going to blow a whistle in their ear!

Yea this number called and just left a message on my machine saying that I was Norma Dunn's contact and they needed to find her because she is a person of interest in some crime...wtf? I sure dont know ne Norma Dunn and I ve never even been to NY. What a do***e bag!!!

A rather aggressive sounding woman indicating that her name was Ms. Harris calling regarding a summons in Sacramento County, CA.  Did not even have my name right and was attempting to sound so official that her words were slurred.  Took the number off of caller id.  I just wonder how they get an unlisted telephone number.
