Interesting, you added that the "name of company" is "CitiServe"...  You mean, creators of "The Orange Box"?  So, what's the threat; they're going to send a kiosk out to get you?  That would be fun to watch.  I wonder if we could request what they send after us; quite frankly, I'd rather have a vending machine full of Snickers instead.

I read your post and one thing sticks out that makes this a shill post. You went to court without the "debt meditation service" show proof that the debt is yours. <smells shill like to me>

Don't bother making coffee for them.  Report them - see Tamianth's post a few messages above ours.

BTW The only official notification of a debt is a written document delivered by mail or a process server.  Phone calls, emails, & faxes do NOT count.

This BS story of yours it way too long.    A story ten times longer than it has to be is the  hallmark of a con artist.   Volume doesn't make the con more believable.

As for posing as a "satisfied customer" when in fact you are no doubt being compensated to post this drivel as either an employee, associate or agent, you are  in violation of FTC false advertising regulations, which I suspect is an old story you and  with your bosses.  Really, stop embarrassing yourself with this transparent cr@p.     Either learn to lie believably  or don't do it at all.  Expecting us to believe this is downright insulting.

I received a voicemail from a no caller id number saying I would be served at home and at work for something tied to my social and my name. No other specifics... Then tells me if I want to stop proceedings to call the 716 number and gave me some 5 digit case number...the voice was very robotic.. They also said if they can't get my 'signature' they will have to turn it over to my county court... I call fake...

Nice try shill, but I call BS ---

1. You certainly know much about this company, their "rights", etc for a consumer who was called and threatened by them
2. On the other hand, you show little knowledge of your rights as a consumer under the FDCPA (e.g., verification, the FDCPA violation of them threatening to serve you)
3. This thread is less than a week old and you make this posting extolling their virtues.  I wonder how many other "consumers" who were jacked around on the phone by some weasel making threats would then make such a posting here?

To quote your eloquent testimonial: "as you can see, the collection agencies have beefed up their approaches and terminology,"  Well, they may have changed their approaches to shilling, but you will find the regulars here have not.  If you try and deceive consumers, we will call B.S.

No, because the caller is a scammer.  BTW, debt is civil, not criminal, so no one would be arrested anyway.  Also, NO ONE gets a heads up they'll be served a court summons - the process server just shows up.

Let's play - "NAME THAT COMPANY" giving details such as address. phone, website --  you should know  that since you obviously work for them.

BTW No one believes your wonderful testimony.

You sound like a shill for the scam. You do not ever pay a debt that is not validated... by law, they have to provide proof of.  You can not be arrested for owing a debt either.  The OP indicates there is a violation of the FDCPA laws..

If this company is so great, post up the real company name, address, web site, BBB page so they can be verified..

Debt Collector
They called me stating the same.  This is actually a "debt mediation service" (i.e. - a collection agency).  They have been hired by some agency to collect o a debt that they feel you owe.  They do have the right to take you to court and have a judgement entered against you, put it on your credit, garnish wages, etc.  However, this is the best time to negotiate a settlement if you can.  I called and the guy went from threatening to show up at my job, having me served with papers that force me to appear in court (which I learned is actually civil court) and having to pay over $7000 on a debt that he said was $1630; to offering to give me a settlement of $1030 and 3 weeks to pay; to if I need to make a payment arrangement and want to make a counter offer on the $1030, he would speak to the original creditor on my behalf.  So, as you can see, the collection agencies have beefed up their approaches and terminology, but this can actually be a blessing in disguise.  Because you can negotiate a settlement, and have them put the negotiated amount in writing.  Then you remit, with your payment that "By acceptance of the agreed upon settlement amount, this payment constitutes a debt paid in full and that no further action will be taken by the original creditor or any entity hired by them to collect on this or any debt."  Upon receipt and cashing of the check or verification that they have received payment with this letter and no response after 30 days, you can submit a copy of said letter with your proof of payment and it has to be removed from your credit report, thus increasing your credit score.
