We are a survey research department here at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. We do many different studies pertaining to people's opinions about public health issues. We appreciate people's input and opinions and we do pay participants for their time with many of the studies. This is legitimate scientific research.

A myth about survey research is that it pertains to the 'Do Not Call' list.  This list does not apply to us because we're not selling anything or asking for money.  We're just asking for opinions and, for some surveys, paying you for your time and participation. Also, the numbers we call are created through random digit dialing. We don't know who we're calling initially.

If you are receiving calls from this number, please give us a call back and allow us tell you about the research we are conducting.  Your opinions contribute to important health related decisions that are made by your public officials.

Oh yeah, I suggest anyone else getting calls from these nitwits call them back at one of the MANY numbers for the company listed in another message in this thread. Call them frequently. Like every 5 minutes. Flood their phone lines. DDOS all thier phone lines til their system locks up or they go insane, like they have tried to do to all of us. These creeps are running a phony survey scam. Called `em back ,told `em not to call again .Of course these criminals made a point to disregard my telling them to stop calling!

Further research indicates these dirt bags are claiming to be taking a survey for the health department- waht a scam ..pay you  20 bucks if qualified -  yeah right, when pigs grow wings and fly!
Dirtbags are not only nasty, intrusive , inquisitive but  have no respect for people`s intelligence! Wish teleharassing was a crime that was punished by the death sentance!

Who are these dirtbags? Supposedly Sen, Schmuck Schumer is trying to get a law passed to make ignoring do not call lists a FELONY. Hopefully there `ll be a death penalty for teleharassers, damn them!

SRDAR, why in the heck do you call people's cell phones when it costs them minutes and or money.  That is not right!!  I told one of your callers to put my number on your do not call list, and they hung up on me.  So, I hope your company calls me back, because you will get an ear full from me!!!!!!

I got the same call, but they told me I would only get $10.00.   I told them to remove me from their call list because they called my cell phone.  They just hung up on me.  It was a survey on cancer, call came from Buffalo NY.   I hope they call me back because they will get an ear full from me.  I guess they offer $10 to men and $20 to women.  Ha Ha

They've targeted my cell phone too.  I'm sure this is not the "Dept. of Health," because their alleged survey is on a completely topic that hasn't been controversial or under study for a decade -- secondhand smoke.  And the questions they asked me were on the order of  "Do you have a fax?"  "How many phone lines do you have?"  
I'm guessing it's  Verizon.

I keep getting calls from this number on my cell phone and home number

I told them i don't wanna participate and they still say that they'll pay me the $20. That's really scam. I smelt it from the start. He insisted to pay me the $ but how. yOU WILL HAVE TO GIVE YOUR REFERENCES, Name, account number, address? Not that stupid

Same experience as others below.  A woman from this number (as well as 716-845-7748 in FL) left a message on my cell saying this was a dept of Health survey.  I live in CA.  As mentioned by others, she said they were paying $20 and left a number to call (which I deleted.)  They keep calling.

They have called me every day so I picked up asked if they had a number to reach them and they gave me this one 1 866 337-2779

got 10x phones in course of an hour. No answer no message. This is harassment. I am in the process of pursuing Verizon as it is a Verizon # and will make it my business to post negative information about this number on every web site i can. It is about time that we fight back and make the callers answer for their deviant behavior. We must keep reporting these numbers until the harassers find they can no longer tolerate the antagonism they have created.

Department of Health "survey"

This number has called my cell 3-4 times in May claiming to be from Dept of Health doing some sort of health survey of adults in NY.  For those "who qualify" and "finish the interview" they claim they will pay $20. Only my close family has this number, so it's not likely to be any gov't agency.   I have also gotten calls for a previous owner, mostly collection type calls.  I don't want to waste my minutes either!

called yesterday, and left a message saying it was the dept of health doing a survey of healthy adults in new york, left an 877# to call back but left it so quick and mumbled that no matter how many times i played it back i couldn't get the #.  really don't think the DoH is sitting there calling adults in NY!!!!

If it goes to an unlisted number or a private number, it HAS to come from a number generator attached, probably, to a computer !

This number called my phone number at least 10x during a 1 hour period. No answer - no message. This is harassment. This number should be noted as a source of annoyance calls and proper legal action should be enforced. I have contacted Verizon and will continue to forge a campaign against any and all numbers such as these. Please pass this info. on and make the owner of this number regret the day they chose to pursue deviant behavior! FIGHT BACK!

They are callking my cell phone, which is a per minute phone.  I do not know who this is or why they are calling a number that is only known to family and friends.  Whoever it is always accesses the voice mail.  They call every day about 12ish.  It's darn annoying.
