Hung up after 2 rings-nice!  I love this website :-)

When I answered, the woman on the other end said she was calling to verify funds on a check. I asked where she was calling from and she responded, "this is Jan calling from Buffalo, NY." No company name or anything, but the caller ID said "Niagara Frontier." She even gave me a checking account number she was referencing and, when she sensed my confusion, she went on to explain, "one of our customers does check-by-phone, so I'm calling to verify funds," which actually explained nothing. I put her on hold to check with someone else in my office to see if they knew anything about this. In the meantime, Jan hung up. Sounds like a scam.

Called my work.  Hung up as soon as I answered.

As of 6-15-11, I've had several calls over the few weeks from 716-874-5335 (Niagra Frontier) and 716-875-3311 (Services).  No one ever answers, only hangs up.  I've called back several times and the phone connects and then disconnects.  DO NOT CALL list does not work if the caller can't be identified and or prosecuted for violations.  The few ruin it for the many!

Anyone knows who this is?

Woman was very rude!!!!

This the 2nd call that I have received from this number.  1st time didn't say anything.  This time giving away mags to women for $60 per month just shipping and handling.  I informed them that they could not call a place of business and that I was going to report them.  They hung up.

This is the second phone call I've gotten, and it actually came through as a legitimate phone call! How do I cancel?? There's no Caller ID, and they have my info. No payments, but this is ridiculous! They made it sound legitimate! :( Help!

this number called and hung up on me yesterday, then today called and said nothing until i said hello 3x. then it sounded like teenage girls who said "you should really read more. yeah, it boosts your brain power", then hung up. when i called them back they continuously hung up on me.

I just got a hang up from this number. There is a do not call list for businesses or so I thought. They can continue to call if you have had prior contact.

I just called the "Niagra Publishing Company" in NY and notified them the 716 services are using their # as a Magazine Scam. The poor woman answering the phone thought it strange, I also gave her the telephone # from the caller ID and told her to check the computer for what Scam these people are pulling on them. She seemed clueless. I hope she passes it on to her boss!? that was my deed for the day.

I just got a call and I gave them a false last name. now they have my cell phone #. But I have not heard from them. Where do we report them in WISCONSIN? I can add my # to the do not call list.. I can also contact someone in my area for Harassing calls, but I do not know who... I have not sent any $ they used the excuse: since we cannot sent to companies, i would need your address.
Caller ID was: Niagra Frontier Publishing Company. And  the "Supervisor" gave me the address:

I have received calls from that number along with a call from 716-875-3311.  I am sure it is the same place.  They hang up right after I say hello.

They have called our business 4 times in the past 2 days offering magazine subscriptions for working women.  When I ask them to please stop calling, they immediately hang up on me.  I agree, what jerks!

I got a call from Ellen at this number offering me 5 free magazine subscriptions. After I accepted and gave my info, then she tells me it would cost 13 a month for postage, so I asked about cancelling and was told I can't. Then I said no, take me off your list, and I'm just hoping I don't get any more calls or mail from this company. Luckily I did NOT give them any payment. Phew!

They said they were calling men at their places of business to offer them magazines.  I interrupted the woman who called and began to say that they should never call a man at his place of business and they hung up on me.  Where do you report these types of issues.  It is bad enough that they were rude enough to call me at my work but then they hang up.  wow

Have called my business at least twice in the last two days and hung up when I answered both times.  Scum!
