I get the feeling most of us getting called are in cali. They probably have a bunch of phone numbers calling people, set up so they all show up as a different number.

I just got a call from this number. I do not answer unknown numbers so I just let ring. I found out that my cell phone can block unwanted numbers. I was looking in the menu of my phone just because of this call and found that option so I add this number to the list 717-200-8989

7172008989 - no msg. Called back - number not in service.

Called, left no message.

I got this call today and when I called the number back I got a recording that it was disconnected.  It was less than one hour after receiving the call.

717-200-8989 called. then hung-up. tried to return the call and received message that the number is nolonger in service.

i got a call from this number and so did my aunt and a friend of mine......NOT GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!

This number (717-200-8989)  calls my phone all the time, I've never answered. Caller ID says it's a number from Pennsylvania and I don't know anyone from there. They never leave a message.

Called my cell phone and left no message.

Same as the rest, tho no message left. Call to cell; didn't answer as I don't know anyone with that number.

Got called by this # last night. Missed the call and listened to some message left in spanish. My Mom, whose plan my phone is on, keeps getting odd #'s too, and if she answers it is always someone speaking spanish and when she asked where they got her # they told her from the internet. She's offered them another # to call- which is to the sheriffs- but they wont take it and hang up.

called and left no message. a return call gives "been disconnected".

called at 3:30 pm EDT. Said "attenzione" I immediately hung up. is my cell phone. When I looked at the c alls received, it said "no name" for caller ID

Rec'd a call from this # today. No message when I called back, message stated no longer in service. I wonder how they get our cell phone #'s?

I received calls from this number and several others.  Always a Spanish recorded message.  They called 4 times on Memorial Day.

I keep getting phone calls from 717-200-8989 on my Navy Issued BlackBerry! They never leave a message so someone has to be monitoring pick ups.

got a call just now, didn't answer, they didnt leave voicemail either.

I got a call from this number today, I'm in Indiana.  I also didn't answer it because like a lot of people on here, I simply don't ever answer my phone unless I recognize the number.  I got the spanish message too, of course have no idea what it is saying.  I didn't bother trying to call it back.  My number is on the Do Not Call Registry, and I did report it to them.

Got a call from it on my Google Voice number! No one in the world has my GV number---the account hass not even been activated. Well done scammers!

just got a call from this number, i dont know who it was and so called right back to a disconnected number. does anyone know if this charges your bill or anything?

Same thing happened to a friend. When I called back it said it was busy.

This what I was learned  Sir, after coming from communist
country in Europe -  legally, earning  citizenship in 10 years.

This is the work of scammers working from a list computer-generated phone numbers, fishing for bank account numbers.  They say you've won some money and need your account number to send you your prize.  Out of the thousands (maybe even hundreds of thousands) of numbers they auto-dial, a few hundred will fall for it.  Still a pretty good payday for the scammers.
