Thank you for letting me know who this is calling from this number!! They have called 3 times in the last 2 days. The kicker is the Easton Police Department of PA just shot my puppy in the back of his head as he tried to run away and get under his fenced in yard. The puppy wasn't even facing in the direction of the trigger happy cop!! Now I can't wait till they call again!! Thank you all.

Thank you for the info! When I see that number come up, I try to waste their time by answering it, AND saying nothing and putting it on mute...it gets them every time. Or when they ask to speak with someone in the house, I will say, I will get them and keep them on hold until they hang-up. Have fun with them for disturbing your peace.

I received a call from them. The phone rang two times and they hung up. I thought it was a call I was waiting on from the same area code so I called back. They answered hello and when I said someone called from there they did the FOP script. The FOP is a legit organization and it does use the funds donated to assist injured police officers and their families. I used to donate back in Missouri. This is not how they conducted their business there. They sent out mailers requesting donations. Much more professional.

Yep, also got call from FOP for donations. They are so poor at reading their scripts, it's
laughable and hard to believe they are anything real, much less operating on behalf of
a real organization.
They ask for a name and address and I just make up something, give it to them and
send them on their way. They don't even know who they are calling.
Even as far as scams or questionable donations go, they are pathetic and give
other con-artists a bad name ;-)
Who do these people fool exactly? Those people I feel sorry for!
BTW, the FOP is an organized labor union, it's not a charity, which makes me believe that
no FOP would ever solicit money in this way. Did you ever hear of donating money to
The Teamsters or the Local Electrical Works 906?

Also, when you do give to a charity make sure you donate *directly* to the charity, either through their web site or by sending a check to them through the mail. Telephone fundraising is almost always through a third-party telemarketer who takes a hefty share for themselves (most charities don't have the money or personnel to do their own telephone fundraising).

They called on June 7th. These 'charities', such as this one supposedly raising money for the F.O.P., are notorious for spending 95% of the funds they raise on salaries and fund raising. The intended beneficiaries get the remaining 5%. Before donating to any organization, check them out on Charity Navigator first. That site details how legitimate charities disburse the funds they raise so you can make an informed decision.

This showed up with number only, they did not leave a messag. I called back this number it is the Pennyslvania Fraternal Order of Police and they are soliciting donations.
