Careful with the State Police thing.  It is illegal to impersonate a law enforcement officer.   I'd refrain from that.  Seemingly not a big deal, but I wouldn't leave it up to someone ELSE to make it a big deal.

Just talked to Kevin, btw.  I was picturing "Peggy."   Ignorant jerk who hung up on me.

Each  and every time that someone calls, the name of the person is "Kevin".  He never gives his last name and refuses to do so.  Something else VERY INTERESTING is that no matter what (male) caller it is, his name is ALWAYS "Kevin".  Obvious SCAM!!!

I have reported these scammers to the DO NOT CALL LIST Organization well over a dozen times and they obviously do NOTHING about it!  So it's time for some creative thinking....

THIS USUALLY WORKS FOR ME.... When you pick up the phone, in your deepest most commanding voice say the following:  "STATE POLICE, WHAT IS YOUR EMERGENCY?"  Usually, these scammers wait until they hear the word "Hello" before they actually connect with you and they will not even bother to listen to you the first time you say this because their first action is to "connect" the line with you.  They will start to identify themselves (probably "Kevin") and then ask who you are.  Then, as before, in your deepest most commanding voice say once again: "I JUST SAID THAT THIS IS THE STATE POLICE, WHAT IS YOUR EMERGENCY?!"  This will catch the caller off guard.  They might hang up and possibly not call you again (for fear of retribution), or you might have to tell them for a THIRD time and that it is illegal to call the state police without a LEGITIMATE emergency!!!  Tell them if they ever call back they WILL be arrested for harassment!!!  This usually works for me.  Give it a try!

Every weekend, no one there, I have on the do not call list and to be honest I don't think it works.

So I don't pick it up when I see this number in the beginning they said nothing.  Any one by chance have the number for do not call list???

The police do not call for donations over the phone.

THE POLICE DO NOT CALL PEOPLE ASKING FOR DONATIONS!! IF THEY CALL YOU REPORT IT.

This number kept calling my house. no message.  I don't know who it is but when I called it back it had a recording that I was calling after hours and that if I wanted to be removed from their calling list to leave the phone number and they would remove it.  I did so and haven't heard from them since.

I too, received the same type of call from rude "Kevin" with the same comment. He actually hung up on me.

This place called my home yesterday and I did go through with making the pledge until the girl told me it wasn't tax deductable.  I just called this number back and the gentleman just picks up and says "hello".  He knew who I was obviously from my caller ID I told him very promptly I won't be making a donation and take me off their list.  I'm going to assume this is a scam.  The more I thought about it, why can't your donation be tax deducatable.   They won't be getting my money

Agreed Rose!  This is thed biggest scam EVER.  What is ANY police organization soliciting MONEY for?  They are paid with our taxes, and their unions are supported by union dues of their members!  This would be like your local teacher's union calling and saying, "We need you to send us money!"  GREAT, says I...  End my property taxes, and I'll be HAPPY to send you a couple of dollars!  This is a ROYAL scam, attempting to intimidate people into coughing up their dough!

This number is affiliated (supposedly) with the Pennsylvania Police Chiefs Association.  They called once before with a "215" area code.  The man identified himself as "Eric Miller".  When I told him I was on the "Do Not Call" listing for solicitations, he became rude & said their organization was not under the "guidelines" of the Do Not Call list.  He said the PA Police Chiefs Association, had their own "do not call listing" and that he could put my number under it.  I told him to please do so.  He rudely said for me to "have a nice day and perhaps some other time you can help us out".  I just received this call at 2:11.  The other phone number that was harassing me was 215-795-3038.  My next internet stop is to lodge a complaint on the Attorney General's website for Consumer Protection.  If anyone reads this, I suggest you do the same.  Also, look up "215-795-3038".  Some comments about that number listed it as a fraud.  Think about this:  if your local police department needs help, then help them!!  No one should have to give to this association---put your money locally!!
