Called himself Officer Daniels from the Crime Investigation unit know my name and my husband's name.

I have received few calls with different numbers to call back.  Today it was jack smith from crime investigation bureau 7178265958.  Caller I'd is irs number ends on 1040.  Prank call.  

I got the same call from 717-826-5958. Claiming to be from Criminal Investigation Department. I called police officer but the said its just hoax. So next time anyone calls like this just don't give out any information

robbed me of my thousand of  $ an interpeter named komal patel ....they are preying on indian people in indian language i first talked 2 some officer having a thick acent named max wilson ...........
no need to worry for me coz i have reported them 2 f.b.i and fbi have traced them they r calling from india using a majic jack no. 717-826-5958 an some where in gujarat as they speak gujarati m also a gujarati and i m sure they r from surat or ahmedabad or rajkot...................

I too had a voicemail, very wierd accent. He identified himself as Officer John Stevens from Crime Investigation department and he had some kind of affidavit and I need to call them back otherwise they will initiate legal proceedings. I took it seriously but the accent did not make sense so I just typed the number and I get this. thanks for the postings. I am surprised he is still giving the same phone number 717-826-5958 and no action has been taken against these scamsters.

I just got a message on my phone calling from 734-847-8658 (caller-ID) and left a message pretending police officer having case filed against my name and to call him back at "soun wa soun eh two se fa nie fa eight". I have to listen several times to catch that phone number 717-826-5958. He sounds like Indian from India. This site helped me to relax and saved my time not calling him back. So many scam and spam that we have to deal now a days.

No one calls to give you a heads up that they're going to arrest you.  And if the police truly had an investigation going on you, they'd just show up too.  These are scammers trying to scare people into paying bogus debts or pay a "fine" to stop legal action.  Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  They can't really do anything because the callers are not in the US, however, your experience can help other people know that this is a scam.  If these people call back again, let them know you've reported them and that the FBI is monitoring, recording and tracing all calls they make to you.

My wife received a call at home. There was a lady with Asian accent who was yelling and demanding to speak to me as they have a sexual harassment case against me. I was not home. They told my wife that I must call them back immediately or they will send an arrest warrant. When I called back the number the first time I got a message that the majicjack customer I am calling is not available. That was weird and I immediately knew that it was a bogus call. Out of curiosity when I called back again some one picked up and said it was crime investigation department, that he was officer William and they have started a legal proceeding against me. For what...... they cannot tell me without me giving further personal details to them. NO WAY! Phishing scam or Prank.

I received a call some one who call himself Eric Paul left a message on my voice mail that he is calling regards of state investigation dept. and this message is making me aware that my name and my identity under investigation, time is very short for you and matter is very sensitive, so call me back asap, 7178265958. if i don't hear from you,he  will start legal procedure against my name and my identity. This crazy person called 3 -4 months ago did same thing I report to the local police, said just ignore...they want some instant money.

The person or persons are using magic-jack and their accent is typical one from India.
I called and threatened them that I will track and will inform CBI (Central Board of Investigation in India) to check on them. The guy immediately hung up.

Since they are probably scammers calling from another country, there's not much to be done about them.  You can report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General, although they won't be able to do anything either.  If they call back again, tell the callers that the FBI is monitoring, recording and tracing all calls the scammers are making to you.  Hopefully, this will help stop them from calling you.

They said some crap like they were investigating something. Said they were from the investigation office of Pennsylania!! The number they gave was 717-826-5958. my caller id showed 734-847-8658 Temperance Michigan. So this needs to be dealt with. They did about 6 or seven months ago. The guy who calls has a weird accent. Wen I threatened to report him he said I should talk to his superviser. A woman came on and I asked her her name and she wouldn't tell me. I asked her for her number and she gave me the 717 number above but my caller id showed another one.

Would appreciate if these peole could be investigated since they have been doing this to others and trying to cheat them.

I received a call from 717-826-5958 claiming his name is Officer Aritpal and that he has received affidavit against my name and identity threatening to take legal action if I do not call him back. On calling back phone goes straight to a messaging system. This is guy is an a** and a fake for scaring people like this.

Received exactly same call.  Just ignore.  After the call I called my local police and they asked me to have fun with them waist their time with nonsense until they stop calling. As per police, any tax agency will never call directly until they follow all the legal procedures by USPS. Screw these guys if you have time to have fun. I hate these calls.

Just received a 'threatening' call. Quote - "Officer William from State Investigation, You are in legal trouble. Call me back. If I don't receive a call back from you, I will take legal action". Actual Caller ID - 734-847-8658. (Temperance MI)

A scam to take your money from you. The caller claimed to be an officer calling from the  Criminal Investigations Department, PA, working from the IRS and threatened to initiate criminal proceedings against me, and left many messages on my voice mail. He left this callback number : 734-847-8658.

I received a crazy call from this number as well. This person claimed to be "officer william" about starting legal proceeding.

This is some crazy number. They say they are from the IRS and want to take all your money.

Losers. It is from some international country using magic jack.
