At 2:00 AM on December 21, 2012, I received a call from PECO in Brooklyn.  Why are they calling me?
This company is a telemarketer for electric companies looking for Con Ed customers in NYC and Westchester.  There are no Con Ed customers on Long Island.   In addition, I am on the DO-NOT-CALL List.  Why are they allowing the call to go through?
The callers must be mutes or of very low intelligence since they do not speak when people answer the phone.

I was reading your post and was wandering, how did that switch in service work out for you now that several months have passed?. I guess what others might have also wandered what is the name of the company that contacted you, that's the million dollar question. You see the purpose of this site is to help people find out who the people are that call our phones and do not provide any information  and annoy us, so that we can report them or contact them. Why ? you may ask, because it is the law they are not allowed to contact people who are registered on the do not call list  for the purpose of solicitation or people they do not do business with.

Received phone call from them today at 12:15 and no one was there.
I guess the call-center's computer is still working, but the staff is at lunch :)

I recieved a call from this number 1/27/2012 and I signed up. I then called my utility and they said I had the choice and I went over everything I was told from my phone call and the Utility Customer Service even told me it would REDUCE MY RATE! I couldnt believe that the Utility confirmed everything for me.  I think you might want to re consider your judgements and research how to save money on your electric bill.

I work in the Energy Field but not for this company and I would like to inform you call that there is something called an Energy Choice Program in the state of NY and it saves you money on your Electric and Gas Bills.  And like most Call Centers they are probably on an Automatic Dialing System and that means numbers are automaticly dialed thats why some of you get a call and dont hear anything is because they were busy with other customers.  If a call center is busy with other customers that usually means they have a lot of business.  Thats looks good on the company to have too much business.  Though I do not agree with those of you who were hung up on.  I must say I have an Energy supplier and I have had them for 6 years and I have never been happier with my bills. :) Good Luck to you all!

Call date:  1/31/12 at 1:41 PM - Brooklyn, NY:   A man with a strong Jamaican accent called.   He said he was from Con Edison and that an application for "Lifeline" - a reduced rate service -  was approved.   Had all details of application. Scary.

I received a call from this number 718-233-3851 today, January 20, 2012.  When I said hello, no one responded.   I said hello again; and again no one responsed nor hung up the line.  I just hung up and googled this number because I never call back the phone number that calls me.

i just received the call but it was silence.

Today was the second call I got from this number.  There is no one there when I answer and a call back does not go thru. Search on line gave me same address in Bklyn that others have posted.

Just got called, machine picked up, no message left. Good to know about this.

Now I was just called by this number again. I answered after a few rings and heard silence.

Just got a call from them. Said "hello" a few times. No response. Did a reverse lookup and found this page. Called them back and am on hold. "Estimated hold is currently 15 seconds." Talking to the guy now. Told him I wanted to give them ALL OF MY MONEY. To his credit, he said they don't take money, but his mom has a website selling e-cigarettes if I wanted that info. When I said I'd rather just give it to him in a giant pile of cash he laughed and said he'd take me off their call list. So, yeah, scam or not, I haven't a clue, but hopefully I won't have that number show up again for a bit.

Got a call from this #, they left no message.  I called back and got a recorded message, apparently I am a very important person and my call was important to them, and an agent would be with me shortly because of an estimated wait time of 15 seconds.  I wasted 3 minutes of my life waiting for said agent, and then hung up.

Got the call. A  woman said, "I'd like to speak with the person who pays the Con Ed bills." I hung up and Googled their number. How long before someone actually goes after them?

I just received a call and there was no one answering then a woman said Hello and hung up.

I'm in PA and got the call yesterday.  When I answered no one responded so I started searching and the white pages says this is a landline in Brooklyn.  Based on prior messages; this is weird- some in NY, CT, PA.

I have been getting this call also and finally called the number.  He claimed he did not hear me when I said hello.  He acted as if I was calling his home not a business.  I told him to put me on the "do not call list"  I am tired of this call coming in constantly.  He told me he would put me on the do not call list.

Got a call on 11/23, day before Thanksgiving, around 4:30pm. I think it was the same condescending b***h as the person above. Asking if I'm the one who handles the Coned. Wouldn't explain why she was calling, just was argumentative when I tried to explain that I no longer had a Coned bill in my name. Then she hung up on me.

I got a call today at 11:55am, caller ID shows new york 718-233-3851 I answered thinking it was someone I knew. A male voice came on the line asked for me by my last name he identified himself and said he was from fox fuels. I asked what company he replied fox fuels so I asked what he was calling me for he mentioned something about a letter I had received along with my con ed bill and had I had a chance to review it. I responded I do not receive bills from con ed, the phone went dead and the call was terminated.

some fool woman calls me saying "i'd like to speak to the person responsible for the electric bill"...i said speaking...she rambles on & on about how i missed the mail advising me of some PROGRAM that will save me $30 a month on my bill..."grab your last month's bill & yada yada...nope dont get paper bills & who are you again?!...never said her name...she got all condescending on me bcuz i must b some sort of an AZZ to NOT WANT TO SAVE $$...she didnt say that in words but her tone did--i told her the convo is over & hung up...b**** picked the wrong one...
