Annoying phone calls with no one on line when picked up.

I received a message from the same Terry Cox, and I was wondering how she/he was scamming people, but now I know, Thanks for all the posts.

I received the hole in the heart sob story to get Avon products. Please do NOT respond to these, except to direct them to Avon directly, as they have a much more detailed/secure sites.  Maybe Avon can be the hero, and catch these thiefs!!!

I also sell Avon and received a message from Terry Murphy at 718-303-2156 wanting to place an order.  I live in SC.  Immediately, I was cautious of a New York number, but replied anyway.  My suspicions were confirmed when they stated they wanted to order 120 bottles of Haiku and 50 gold ipods, an order totaling more than $4,000.  I googled the number just in case.  Thanks for all of your input as well.  I have notified my district manager.  Hopefully, with sites like this one and management being in the know,  noone in our company will fall for this.

Received a "Contact Me" from this number.  Name is now TERRY MURPHY being used.  Wanting to order a large quantity of products from me.  Also, stating that they have a credit card.  Advised them to use direct delivery since they have a credit card.  They stated they would not do that...that they didn't trust putting that information on my website store because of fraud.  Asked if I would have products sent to my home or office and they would arrange to have a pickup done.  YEAH...RIGHT!  I wasn't born yesterday!  Beware of this everybody

This is like my 10 request form these scammers.  I got one today and the name on it was Janet Harold, amenjanet154@gmail.com, 718-303-2156.

I just got an email from the number listed in this message thread wanting me to submit a large Avon order and ship it to my home. I am glad that I googled the phone number.

Is there a way to report these types of scams? If so, how???

This person now goes by Steve Morgan also wants 60 bottle of the d. jeter cologne,60 sport,and 60 U. He gives two master card numbers. Stay blessed as well whar an A***OLE!

this phone number is now being used except for their "assumed name" they are going by now is Toni Millan and the email is t.millan10@gmail.com (as of the end of December) I always look at the contact # and if it isnt local I delete them and don't bother to contact them at all.

I am an Avon eRep and received a request from a John Ayensu at johnayensu2000@gmail.com asking for me to contact him at 718-303-2156. When I looked at my website there was only the name and email address.  No other info what so ever.  I always google new eCustomers for this reason. Also, anyone that does a google for your own search and find something like this, please report the information so others can beware too.

I sell AVON as well and I just got a request from a person with this same number. I didnt recognize the area code so I searched for it and it was in New York. Then I seen all the complaints about the number so I just wanted to add that the name I was given was Tony Millan with an email of t.millan10@gmail.com

the "person" now goes by Tony Millan.  I did call the number that was listed on the 1st email but got a voicemail. Here's the 2nd email I received.....

I am SO glad I googled this phone number.  I also received the same email requesting to purchase AVON. I am contacting the unit director to make sure she warns all the reps in her division.

This is the second scam email, I have received lately. I was foolish enough the last time to look up prices for the scam artist but halted when they didnt want to place the order online. I am considering to stop being an ERep as I get more scam artists than I do customers.

Thank you so much for posting this. I just recieved the e mail asking to place an order and have it shipped to my house. I am new to avon and I have been getting alot of these requests. Now I know that they are fake. His order was for $1500. Thanks again.

AAAHH!  I almost got taken by the same ***hole!!  I actually have 4 boxes of Haiku and Amari products that were going to be picked up today, but thankfully the AVON customer service dept called me this morning and told me not to process the order because nothing matched.  THANK GOODNESS they called me before the items got picked up.  This happened with my very first order as an AVON rep.  I will be MUCH more careful in the future.

I am also an Avon Rep and received the same request for 240 units of fragrance as Christine did from a Terry Cox. I received two diferrent emails : one stating that she wanted to place an order for her daughters graduation and then another about needing christmas presents.
    I live in California and placed an ad on Facebook so I assumed the order came about from that. Well, I got the feeling that it was a scam, it would total over $5,000. I did some research after this person sent 2 credit cards upon which to split the order up and a billing address in Ossining, NY. I looked up the address only to discover that this person DOES NOT live there. Next, I considered getting the authorities involved suspecting credit card fraud because of the request to have them sent to my home and then she'd arrange pick up via USPS.
   I really knew something was amiss when she totally disregarded my questions and didn't just go to the Avon site and do direct delivery. I also tried calling the number they provided and got the voicemail, no one ever answered AND the voicemail voice had an English accent. I'm glad my internal alarms went off.

That message is almost identical to the one that we just got except that it was 60 bottles of the haiku and 50 bottles of the spray.  Rest assured that it is indeed a scam.

Just for kicks, send him/her a message about how important it is that they change the direction of their lives through belief in Jesus Christ.  That would be cool if we all replied with a message like that.  :-)

YES IT'S A SCAM.

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING.  THIS JAMES LORD CHARACTER IF THAT'S EVEN HIS NAME, IS PART OF A HUGE SCAM.  MY WIFE IS AN AVON REP AND THIS JAMES LORD GUY JUST TRIED TO ORDER $1,634.40 WORTH OF AVON PRODUCTS AND HAVE IT SHIPPED TO OUR HOME.

REST ASSURED THAT IT IS A SCAM.

I ACTUALLY JUST REPLIED TO HIM AND TRIED TO GET HIM TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN THROUGH SOME HEARTFELT CHRISTIAN EVANGELISM.  THAT SHOULD KEEP HIM AWAY AS HE PROBABLY ISN'T EVEN AN AMERICAN.

Also received an Avon "request for contact" from kingmurphy09@hotmail.com with the name Terry Cox and this phone number.  Of course my instant reaction in scam and I googled this phone number.  It's interesting that the person is stating credit card when they usually will send a money order.  I think they're catching on that no one will do a money order for that amount.  I really hope no one has had their credit card number stolen to be a victim of these jerks.

I had an someone contact me with this same number named James Lord and the email was identical to the one above.  I have forwarded it to my district manager this morning but I have not heard back yet.  I am glad I googled this.  It looks like someone is dealing with a stolen credit card scam.

Unbelievable!  I also sell Avon, and I received a "Contact Customer" message from my website, from "Jenn Cox"...so I proceeded to e-mail this person asking where they saw my business card or brochure, and this is the e-mail response I received:

Hello I am Jenn Cox and I work at  Amkor Technology, Inc. CHRISTMAS is just around the corner and I would like to have some AVON products that I would give out to my family and friends.  I would like to keep the order as a surprise for my family and inorder to make this a success I would like you to have the order shipped to your home and I will arrange for pick-up via USPS from your end.  I will be sending you my Credit Card details for you to run all charges involved including tax. Below are the
Items and quantity I would like to order.

1) Haiku Eau de Parfum Spray {102-972}....I would like to have 120 bottles of this product

2)R.P.M. Intense Eau de Toilette Spray {463-169}....I would like to have 120 bottles of this product.

As soon as I read the e-mail, my gut feeling is that it was a scam.  The "Contact Customer" request I received also had this phone # (718-303-2156), so I decided to Google it, and I'm glad I did.

E-mail solicitiation to place a $2600 Avon order using a credit card and have someone pick it up from the residence.  We're in CA, name and phone number of scammer is Terry Cox AKA Jen Cox with an email address of terrycox101@gmail.com

I just received an email from Terry Cox wanting to place a large Avon order. She said to place the order, have it shipped to MY home, she would then give me her credit card number, and arrange for "someone" to pick it up! Yeah, right!!! No way
