I too received a call from someone with a heavy accent who asked me when i answered if this was a business. when I told him no, he told me a Windows computer in my house was having problems. I let him talk and asked about the company he represented. I asked how he could know that MY computer was having issues & he said they could see that there were problems. I explained that I had several Windows computer at my house, could he give me some information to explain which one it was?i think his response was that it was the one "nearby" to where I was located. I asked for a serial number (surely if he could see that there were issues he could see the serial number) or an IP address for my computer (definitely he could see the ip address if he could see that one of my computers was having issues). He avoided the serial number question but said he did have the IP address. when I asked him to verify it for me, he said he was not allowed to give it out, that only a supervisor could. i responded that i would have to talk to the supervisor then and he quickly told me that he was not allowed to let me talk to a supervisor. i responded that he was not helping me wih my computer if i did not talk to a supervisor. i kept him on the phone as long as I could (with the idea that as long as he was talking to me that he was not scamming someone who did not realize it & might be taken in by their convoluted presentation). However at that point I was pretty pissed at how he was trying to push me into getting some help & trying to make me believe he was legit. so I gave him a piece of my mind & told him there was NO WAY that he or his company would be able to help me with my computer and he promptly hung up the phone.

The caller ID on my phone came up Jade Knights. I answered on the off chance it was the Karate studio I was waiting to hear back from. Nope, some guy with a heavy accent telling me there was something wrong with my computer. I simply informed him that there was nothing wrong with my computer and he could shove his scam up his a**. And hung up.

Nearly identical details as 1 computer tech just happened to me. The company name given is TEQFLY at www.teqfly.com.  They gave me a callback number of 1877 764 5405, but the caller ID had a "No name and 000-000-0000" in the info. It's clearly some sort of scam. The caller started out by saying they were an authorized Microsoft Tech Support group, but when I was connected to a Teqfly technician who wanted to control my computer, he quickly, but clearly said they were not associated with any software company.

Call came in from Marietta NY 315-636-5875. Thought he said Techsoft was company name and my computer has problems they have diagnosed and he would show me what the bad internet programs were that were ruining my computer.  After going to Start>Run:event vwr he showed how the (Local) Applications had yellow and red flags, those were these files that cause my computer to slow down, and now he would take me to their website and they would show all those problems can be fixed.

The www.esup.me is not a local company (Montenegro), and I Googled it first before going there.  While this is a green site as okay from Google, it does not mean this isn't a company that wouldn't be out there scamming people into thinking they need some $$$ "fix".  He offered me a six-digit number to enter their website to show me all those nasty files.  I balked as the company was Tekfly when I thought he said Techsoft in the beginning.  This ruse to be helping ALL certified Windows users where 7 out of 10 need this fix came apart when I asked what diagnosis they have already.  He wanted to show them to me, but I wanted him to tell me first.  Yep, this is a COLD CALL company trying to tell you kindly what to do to give them the information you provide them to sell you some un-needed products.  If you got slow computer, some COLD CALL company will only take a lot of your money and give you some palm-reading fix, and they probably will steal your identity too!

Take care of your computer.  Hang up on Tekfly!

Paid shills are funny. IT solutions is not legit.  Microsoft does not get involved in this and computers do not send error messages to Microsoft.  Besides, how would they know your phone number?

Got a call from Fraudster - 253-802-0308.  "Fraudster" sounded suspicious, so I acted and talked like a not very experienced user.  Her accent was very hard to understand.  She wanted me to go to Event Viewer (eventvwr.exe), which is safe, then to Application Log, and had me tell her how many entries (over 2000).  Then she claimed that those were problems that needed to be cleaned up.  (As an experienced VB applications programmer who has coded to put entries into the Applications Log, I became very suspicious.)  Then she wanted me to go to www.esup.me.  Now I'm even more suspicious!  I ask her, "Isn't ".me" a country other than the US?"  "Is it Mexico?"  (only country that came to mind --  turns out it is Montenegro, see: http://domain.me/about-me/)  She kept saying that "esup.me" is something that their web designers had built.  She then suggested that I go to "www.teqfly.com".  I challenged her as to why she wanted me to go to a ".me" web site and now she wanted me to go to a ".com" web site.   She finally suggested that I call 877-764-5405 to confirm her info and that she would call back in a few minutes.  She didn't call back.

I kept her on the phone for about 50 minutes and I figure I kept her from about 10 other computer users and protected them from her.

I got a call from these guys this morning, same method of operation but now using a different name and phone number -- something like "Edwin Wilson" (but Indian accent, a bit hard to understand) and volunteered his phone number as 315-616-5875, for which I later did reverse lookup and found it's actually the landline for a mobile phone company in upstate NY. He led me through finding all these error and warning messages on my computer, but when he tried to get me to go to www .esup.me and let their technician have access to my computer I Googled it while talking with him and discovered these posts and hung up on him. Thanks for the heads-up.

I also got a phone call like these.  The caller I.D. number did not show up, but I got a number as the name: V11716503300025.  The contact number they gave me was 1-877-434-5285.  I did give them access to my computer, but did not pay them when I learned about the fee.  I had been talking to AT&T about my computer problems, and thought there as a connection.  I was uncomfortable.

call from IT Solutions....Indian accent....insisted I log on.  Told him I could not but if he told me what to do....which he began to do and then asked question.  I said," I told you I could not log on right now and you were telling me what to look for when I do."  He said, "No, no! you have to log on now!"  So I blew a whistle into the phone and hung up.  I do not have caller ID but sound like exactly what I'm reading about here.

Yeah, I can confirm that those guys are not legit. They tried telling my computer had malware and spyware on my computer but since I knew quite a bit about my computer I went ahead and played along with it. After telling my what seem like legit information I quickly noticed most of what they were talking about was a load of bs.

Then they as me to go to esup.me I knew at that moment they were looking to remote access my computer. I told them I would report their scam if they called again and they hung up. I am still planning to report their website and make sure people are aware of this scam.

Received a call from 971-217-9514 (I couldn't understand the name).  He said that they had received reports that my computer was infected with Malware.  He had me go to the event viewer and confirm that I saw errors.  I played along and eventually, he sent me to esup.me.  I told him that I couldn't understand him and he put Peter on.  Peter confirmed that they were authorized by Microsoft, that they received error logs from computers, and that fixing my computer would start at $119.99.  Again, I played along for a while until I got tired.  I finally told him that it would have to wait until Mommy or Daddy got home because I was only 15 and did not have a credit card.  He told me to have them call 718-310-3935

Yes,  I got a call from one of Peter's underlings claiming that my computer had been sending error messages to Microsoft.   He guided me through various logs to prove that I have numerous error messages;  and I have had trouble with an "instable" computer for some time.  After determining I have an 'infected computer'-- no virus name or details....  I was suspicious.  Then the young man put Peter on the phone and he wanted me to allow them access to my computer.  I asked for their phone # in case we were disconnected...   it was the number listed above and I did a quick internet search and  saw your posts!!  THANK YOU ALL FOR POSTING.  I told him I need to check this out before I go further.

Yes,  they had Indian accents and did claim to be from Microsoft.  My computer is VERY unstable, but I dont think they are the answer.   I don't have time for this nonsense!!

Got a call from this # just this afternoon, the caller's name is Peter (just as in the case of Yvette). He said he was from Windows tech support. I asked for his #, he didn't give me, but another guy gave (this should have been a red signal). Later Nigel came online and asked for access to my computer, downloaded RegClean and showed me how many errors with yellow and red sings are on my computer. He said for onetime fee of $298, they will delete all the files, fix my computer.. I kept askign these guys, if the tech support is from Microsoft, why can't they send a patch to resolve the problem. When they said $$, i just hung up the phone. Uninstalled Regclean right away - feel bad that I was almost taken for a ride!

I got one of these calls today.. freaked me out.. I said I was on a "do not call list" but was told that this was informational only and that the caller company was  a division of  Microsoft. I spoke first to "sam" and then his supervisor "Michael".  Their accent was such that I understood them to be from Asia (likely India). After showing me thru my computer management screen all the bad stuff that is in my computer, I do want to do something about it. I asked how much this would cost, and he said "money comes later", I said I would not continue until I knew what it would cost. Told it would be $50, $100, $150.. depending on what they found. I said I would talk to my IT guy and depending on what he said I would pursue it (Hah!). End of conversation.

They wasted a lot of my precious time when I was preparing dinner.

I just got the same call from ITT solutions.  I listen to him walk me all the way through my computer checking for errors.  The whole time I was questioning the legitamcy of the call and was constantly reassured it was safe that they were trying to help me. When Peter  wanted me to go to this web page www .esup.me  I refused to do that because I was suspicious.  He made a big sigh and hung-up on me.  I called the phone number on my caller ID and got a party that wanted me to leave a message.  I called the 718 310 3935 number and Peter answered so I hung up.  Immediatly after hanging up, Peter called me back.  I am really suspicious about this call and I felt really uncomfortable.  I hope I stopped at the right point and that I did not allow a stranger with bad intentions remote access to my computer.
