Some Indian guy in a call center claiming he's from GREEN ENERGY SOLAR trying to set up an appointment for solar panels. I strung him along pretending not to understand him and making him repeat everything he said for about 8 minutes until he finally gave up. Whenever I'm bored I like to waste these idiot's time.  :=)

Just got a call from this number but didn't pick up.  I read it's a scam number so I didn't call back.  No message left by them.

From what I understand, the call blocker blocks the number on caller ID.  The spoofed number.  I supposed there are ways to defeat a call-blocker.  

In any event, while imperfect, the call blocker is better than nothing.

The spoofed number is the number that is blocked, at least on my call-blocking device.

Just wondering - when people say they "add this number" to their call blocking list ... if the number is spoofed, and the caller is really calling from a different number ... how does call blocking help anything?

Faint hello? at the other end with random background noise.  I hung up.

Called today again, did not pick up. Thinking of answering and saying NYC Police, your call is being recorded.

Same situation; accent , boiler room background chatter, silence etc however: this SOB indicated he represented a solar company offering free service. I HATE THESE CALLS. What does being on Do Not Call mean?

I only have an idea - have separate answering machine - hit a button when U pick-up and a recording gets on that says "U reach a non-working #" or hit another button and deliver a hard shrieking sound

Just a tip for you.   I also turn off machine however, I tell all family members to call before 7 pm on  my cell phone and also turn that off at 7 pm

Just received a call from this number, I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message.  Added to the block list.

You can google call blocking devices - some of those block up to 1500 numbers and whole area codes. Most run around $60.00

Cindy....I erase all my saved block numbers when my phone gets full since these "organizations" change their phone numbers often.

I got several calls from this number and had a friend who was going to call me from a land line in New York- so I answered thinking it might be her- a man asked me if i was the homeowner- and proceeded to tell me that he was calling from ???? Solar- I could not understand his accent- but he proceeded to tell me that they were installing solar in my area- and then I asked him why they were NOT using the "Do Not Call List" and he then hung up on me- terrible manners- even if I was interested in solar I would not want his company to sell me anything- so I called back and got the recording that this number is either not working or not allocated
what a shame to have missed such a fantastic opportunity to harass this guy

The real problem is that Republicans will not allow any real teeth in the DNC list. It would not be business friendly.

Phone carriers, both the big and small, make too much money of of these calls, and have no incentive to police themselves.

You can go to nomorobo.com and follow their directions to block these calls. The number being discussed here is probably a robot caller because it always cuts off after the 1st ring. I signed up for this and it is terrific and free. I despise these callers too

Same V 414 number as well as The (718) 362-8024.  Does anyone know of a service or gadget I can use to block the jerks that keep calling me?  My blocked numbers list is full and am unable to add entries!

  Same story, call comes through a few times weekly and either no one reponds, or else a foreigner who can only say hello??...eventually they will learn more English. Hopefully they have unlimited long distance calls on their plan since they continually make the calls.What a waste of time!!

They call everyday around dinner time, I hate it .

Call your phone company ask for "selective call reject" and you can block any number you want.  They will get a polite message informing them that your number is not accepting calls from their number.
