We also received an order from a person claiming this as his phone number 718-553-8740. Actually it's a web order. The address he mentioned was little fishy, so we had gone through checking process & we are unable to reach that number. Furthermore, we saw some threads about this number. Finally, we canceled it until payment gets settled.

Again, Aramex is a shipping company providing a shop and ship service for its customers in the middle east. Many online websites ship only locally or to certain regions. By using shop and ship account through Aramex customers like myself ( expat in UAE) can purchase any item through ebay/Amazon etc. and provide a local us address (given to me by Aramex). After paying through my card or paypal the order gets shipped to ARAMEX ware house and then they forward it to me for an additional charge. The benefit of this to us is 1) I can buy items that are not shipped internationally.
I dont know if some sellers got scams/fraud through this, but I know that there are hundreds legitimate buyers using this.
YOU MUST PUT THE CODE WITH THE ADDRESS code is usually something like AUH1006 or KWI234 etc. This is the client number. If you miss putting the code then your shipment will not get delivered to the customer and will get stuck at the warehouse. This is way you might get it back reversed shipment because the ARAMEX warehouse cannot know the clietn without the code.
To verify what I am saying visit the wesbsite. Shopandship.com or Aramex.com
If you still dont feel happy shipping to these addresses JUST DONT. After all its the individual small sellers who complain. We are already using this with Amazon and Microsoft and apple etc. ASK THEM. Its called freight forwarding!

Requesting a carbon copy of this is BS.  Why take the time and once Aramex has your goods, you are screwed. Would you really trust a scammer to send you docs after the goods were shipped?  Please.

We had an order from  an Arabic name.  Large order, he was in a "hurry" which is usually the first FLAG.  We didn't have the correct amount of items he needed and offered a substitute.  He was quick to accept and then order even more.  Again, with the "rush" that he had an event in a few days.  Then when we emailed asking to confirm order changes in writing, nothing.  Didn't hear from him in 3 days.  At first he was replying within minutes.  the shipping address was: 82-21 150th Avenue Springfield Gardens, NY  11413.  After reading about the charge backs and speaking with the card company, we realized it smelled worse than rotting fish.  The card issuing bank is NOT part of the AVS system and hence, while they approved the charge, we would be liable for a charge back.  Knowing it is a foreign issued card and he is using a NY forwarder address is all we needed to know.  Charges refunded, order cancelled and we are safe from another scammer on the web.  Be warned.

We just received an order from someone (different name than any listed here) coming from UAE using the Springfield Gardens NY address for both billing and shipping. They paid using PayPal. I just got off the phone with PayPal disputes department, and they assured me that it would be ok to send the items because the NY Aramax used was a verified address as far as PayPal was concerned.  As long as I ship within 7 days and provide a tracking number showing the package arrived at that address (no signature is even required under $250) that I would be protected.  If a claim or chargeback was attempted with PayPal, the buyer would not win if I did those two things.  If a claim was made w/ her credit card company, PayPal would intercede and most likely that would not go anywhere either.  If it did, PayPal would pick up the cost.  So I am going to go ahead and ship it.  The company has a history going back to the 80s, so there must be legitimate customers even if there have been some who have abused the process.  In this case, with the assurance of PayPal because the address is verified in their system, it seems like it will be ok.  I'll come back and update if I find out differently.

I found this phone number listed on other websites and all of them were reporting it as being used in fraud transactions including Amazon, credit cards, and Paypal.  They always ship product to a freight forwarder.  They're actually in the Middle East.   While that's not illegal, all those people were reporting that the payments were reversed after the product was delivered.  That's fraud.

The name used varies from transaction to transaction but the phone number is the same. Most of the time the ship-to address in the freight forwarder in Springfield Gardens, NY

I received an order today, paid by Paypal.  After seeing all these notes I decided to find out what protection I have, if any, as this is a Paypal transaction.   What I learned is that the address he's shipping product to is NOT a verified address.  As a result, Paypal offers NO protection against chargebacks.   The offer protection if the person claims the product wasn't received at that location AND you have a signature, but that's it. They don't otherwise protect you from the customer reversing the charges from the Paypal account.

Just had an order from this person. For some reason the order didn't sit right. I am so grateful for this string of posts. I googled the address and you appeared. I immediately reported it to ebay and canceled the transaction. He is using this name and address now:
Mustapha Zehana

Springfield Gardens, NY 11413-4028

What I want to know is how he has such a HIGH positive ebay score?!

Why don't you just use your real address? As a merchant, I will gladly ship to a real address I can Google to make sure it exists. Because of the possibility of fraud using these PO Box companies, we don't ship to them anymore. They are only hurting themselves by not vetting their customers thoroughly.

Load of crap. We ship internationally everyday. We slipped and shipped to the NY address. Customer did a reversal. We are out the money and someone in Kuwait has the product. If we cancelled and shipped direct to a real address, we would have had more of a legal stand to keep the transaction.

These are good companies, I'm sure, but they are also fronts for credit card scamming.

Guys, I know there are scammers out there but not all of them are. Aramex is equivalent to US' DHL, they are a trusted company, however, whether the buyers are trustable or not is for you to decide. I'm not sure what you could do to avoid being scammed but try to get the buyer to send a carbon copy of the Shop and Ship email they receive....yep when a package arrives at Aramex US designated to a particular account say AUH 143, the Aramex company then sends an e-mail out to the person associated with this account with tracking number and details of shipment. As a seller, you can ask for a carbon copy of that e-mail message as proof that the item is going to be shipped to the buyer so later if the buyer says he never received, you could track the number through www.shopandship.com simple as that.

Hello Everyone

The address provided is not a scam I also is a customer of Aramex and using same address with my specific code. Customer using this are mostly for Middle East, like me im residing ing Riyadh and my Code added in the Address is RUHxxxx, so if you track the IP address of your customer mostly it will be ip loated in MIddle East,  This is also reason why you found different names with same address but with different codes.
You can the link provided by Mr. Abubaker for more info.

It is not scam it is Aramex address to be used to shopping online and forward it to us and this is their website:

https://www.shopandship.com/faqs

Aramex website:
http://www.aramex.com/News/item.aspx?ID=deddd5f8-4d34-4b0c-9748-ffb04ee577de

The problem is the customers who are using this service do not have full information about how to use it and how to write the new address in USA UK  China correctly and i think that should be cleared by Aramex to all their customers for example we are using this address:

USA
----------------
MY name
My number in Aramex
182-21 150th Avenue
Springfield Gardens, NY 11413
Tel: 718-553-8740

UK
----------------
MY name
My number in Aramex
Aramex House Old Bath Road Colnbrook
Slough, Berkshire SL3 0NS England
Tel: 01753-210399

China

MY name
My number in Aramex
1618 Yishan Rd Building C 1/F Minhang District
Shanghai , 201103
Tel: +862 (1) 6163 5511

So do not be panic and you can contact Aramex and they will explain every thing to you.

We just cancelled an order where the billing address was Aramex's address;

adel buhasan
kac
147-29
182nd street
springfield gardens, NY 11413

Phone: 718-553-8740
Email: abosombol@yahoo.com

We cancelled it due to many red flags. The shipping address was actually an apartment complex in Newark Delaware, but that's just a little different spin on a common fraud. The IP Address was out of Kuwait. Based on our many years of ecommerce experience, this is 100% fraud.

Watch out merchants!

Scammers, scammers,
These people are not very smart.  Paper trails, delivery addresses, IP addresses, so like all criminals, it's just a matter of time.  The inconveinance to so many others along the way is simply a taste of what these people have coming to them.  To those who have been scammed, look for a positive return somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 fold.  Karma is king.  You get back exactly what you put in so don't do anyone wrong cuz I sure would hate to be on the receiving end of this guys future.

Ethics is very important in business.  It also has a greater, longer lasting return on your efforts.
Thanks for letting me vent my experience.

Hi All,
This number and address is used by ARAMEX users (www.aramex.com). ARAMEX are a UAE based courier company and this US address is registered to them.

Any registered user under them is able to ship US online store products to this address, and in turn ARAMEX then couriers the product to the user's address in the Middle East

The address and the phone number aren't fraudulent, however some people may be misusing this address

Seems to be a "fraud," and the repliers here are trying to get readers in on the scam.  I took the liberty of searching the Aramex website...they have a press release which assists sellers with "scams"

Press Release from Aramex (12.10.09)
Protect Yourself from Online Fraud

Published on: 12/10/2009 5:02:00 PM

Aramex builds bridges of trust with clients all over the world. To facilitate business and provide our customers with convenient channels we have utilized electronics tools for communication and interaction over the Internet. As helpful as the Internet can be, many parties engage in fraudulent activity in an attempt to deceive clients into disclosing personal or financial information, or providing payments unrightfully. To give credibility to their actions, the fraudulent parties often cloak their identities under reputable brands such as Aramex and other respectable organizations.

Aramex does not send any e-mails to request payment or cash transfers in advance for a shipment that you have not requested and has not been delivered to you.

How to spot fraudulent e-mails?

Most fraudulent e-mails share common elements, such as:

? Distorted Aramex logo, such as having a disproportionate size or appearing different from what is shown on aramex.com.
? Lack of contact details or phone number; the e-mail asks you to use a website or click a link.
? Mistypes ?Aramex? or uses the name in combination with other words, such as: aramexupdate.com or aramexinvoice.com.
? Statements asking you to make a payment-in-advance for a shipment that you have not ordered and have not received.
? Unexpected requests that urge you to take immediate action; such as transferring money or checks to an unknown third-party via a trusted brand, such as Western Union or eBay.
? Requests for your contact information or bank account details.

If you suspect receiving a fraudulent e-mail, you can report it to Aramex by contacting customer service team, or by calling us at the number listed under your country on aramex.com. You will find this number by simply visiting aramex.com, then clicking the Office locator, and then choosing your country name. We take these e-mails very seriously and continue doing our utmost to protect your interests against illegal and fraudulent activities.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We found ours through ebay as well.  We will be refunding the monies.
When requested for him to send us contact information (via ebay messenger only), he did not give any email address nor telephone number.  We just received a strange generic email which claimed it was sent through pay pal with a whole bunch of hyperlinks.  We did not respond to this letter, nor click on the hyperlinks.
We will be advising the proper authorities on our actions.
