Just received calls from a guy with a thick accent named "Michael Watson" from American Finance, He stated "You have been approved for a loan up to $3000 payable in 5 months and how much do you need?"  I told him $500. then he asked "are you sure. "How about $600?" I told him I only need $500.  I heard a woman in the background of the phone yelling in the background--very suspicious! He repeated my address which is scary as I have never signed up on their website. Then he processed to give me his full name, name of company and his phone number (718) 619-8585.  Mr, Watson stated that "because of the hard economic times we are unabel to do a direct deposit to your checking account  and I have to go to a Western Union to pick up the funds". Then asked if "I am near a KMart." I said no and then he said "I put you on hold while I check for nearest location."   A red flag went up and I googled the company name with the phone number and it led me here. As I was on hold he came back on the line and asked "What is your postal code mam?" I stated  07856 and he said "One moment. He put me on hold a second time and I hung up the phone. He then called me back twice in a row and left voicemail. Now I can see it is a scam and so I am reporting this fraudulent company and blocked the number.
He is calling me again!!

THIS IS A SCAM. Demanding fees of any kind for any reason (poor credit history, tax, shipping, registration, insurance, secure handling, processing, etc.) in advance of actually receiving the loan is *ILLEGAL* as described in this FTC's warning http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/telemarketing/tel16.shtm which states: "It is illegal for companies doing business in the U.S. by phone to promise you a loan and ask you to pay for it before they deliver." A fee is legal if you pay it *AFTER* you get the loan. If you agree to a $125 fee for a $1,500 loan (not that I agree with or recommend it), what should happen is the lender should take $125 out of the $1,500 and send you $1,375 but you should *NEVER* have to pay the $125 up front before you get the loan. Report to the Internet Crime Complaint Center http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG http://www.naag.org/current-attorneys-general.php as appropriate.

I was called from this # 3 times I finally answered it was a guy named JAMES FORSTER stating I  was approved for a loan up to $1000. I asked what's the process this fool stated to me that the only was is to ganrentee the funds if I would send $129 showing that I could be in good standing for paying them back. I asked what was the website www. americanfinance.com. This website states noting about payday loan, so I called the company and they said that it's people in SPAIN that's stealing money from people and do not listen to them. If you get any information from them to report it...

I just got a call from them today too while I was at lunch about getting an $1800 loan payable in 10 months at $210/month. Kept listening for the "catch" because of course this sounded too good to be true. Then I get hit with the Western Union thing about paying $210 up front and then I will immediately get a control number to get the 1800 plus my 210 back. Told him I didn't have the money today but would have it tomorrow so I could go back to my computer and do some research. Warning bells going off in my head, since he said his name was James Foster and had an accent from somewhere in the middle east. Not going to risk it. Has anyone thought about reporting them to Western Union to since these people are using them to scam people? And couldn't find a thing on the internet by using company name "American Finance". Only got this info by researching phone number.

Name of Justin Long the most heaviest accent in the world! I somewhat went along with it just to see what he would say once he starte talking about going to give him 210 dollars up front first and I said no that it sounds like a scam and that I've already been scammed before he said okay great! And hung up! What a jerk glad I didn't fall for that!

The same thing happened to me. Before I sent that first payment I tried to check them out and I only got legitimate information of a company with the same name that actually does financing. They get you wrapped up after that because you're at the point all you wanna do is get your money back. I didn't even want the fake as* loan anymore. This happened to me just this past weekend. Now I need a REAL loan to pay people back the money I borrowed to send these schemers. Please save yourself the heartache and don't Fu** with these animals

I rec'd a call from this company telling me that I have been approved for a loan that I applied for online. I did not fill out an application that I know of and assuming because I had a payday loan that my information was out there. Well first I had to make a deposit of $260.00 via Western Union with a fee of $10.00. Then when I went to collect the $$ I was told I had to pay the taxes on this loan because it was international.  The first payment went to the Phillipines.  Paid $360 again via Western Union, this time it went to Spain, Today I called because I hadn't rec'd my loan on 12/'7/12 because it was so late, They told me that it would be in my bank account 12/7 after midnite, well that didn't happen. Since a new control # had to activated I was to send another $200 which I didn't do. In order to refund all that I sent they told me it would require a deposit of $150 boy was I screwed!!   American Finance   DO NOT  deal with them. Big SCAM!!!

Same thing happened to me on today. I applied for a loan with these fakes && I sent $115 the first time && $220 the next time. I was SUPPOSE to receive both payments back & the loan I applied for. Called back spoke to "Michael", spoke with him & his so-say manager but seems like something wasn't right. He told me he was going to call me back in 10 mins && I never received a call & neither did they answer when I called back. I advise ANYBODY who apply for a loan with "American Finance" that it is a SCAM & you will lose money!!!!!!

I received a call this morning and the man on the other end said his name was Michael Armstrong.  He wanted to talk about my property and what was scarey he know the address.  I told I was not interested in speaking with him and in a language I could not understand he started yelling at me.  I immediately called my attorney and she is reporting them to the FBI.  How do these people keep from going to jail.

Just got a call from them. Told them to remove my number from their list and the little jerk on the other end asked why and laughed. Sounds like a really professional company. Or not...

Got this call and when called back to see who it was, someone with a heavy accent answered the phone and just kept saying hello.  Could not understand anything other than that, but it did sound like the creatures who continue to call saying am being sued for non-payment of a Payday Loan.
