I don't think you can blame any one company. They are robo-callers, like spam. Don't ever answer the phone.

These 'energy' companies call daily using a multitude of different numbers. If they were legitimate, there would be no need to be undercover, changing ID and telephone numbers, sometimes even within the space of a few hours. Whether or not they really represent any company at all, they are operating like con artists.

SCAM calls!

Receive several scam calls on Mondays and Tuesdays every week. This number is one of them. Rang 3 times and stopped.

The prices START better... Then get much worse.

They call meal the time. I told them that I live in NYCHA project and I did not pay electric and gas. They continued to call.  I am keeping names and number so I will know if they call before. I then lookup the number.

Getting these callers as well never answer them, although they call all day! I do not plan to answer them, however i wanted to give you all a heads up in case you haven't encountered this issue, there are several NYC #'s calling our home and its the same thing with everyone, You answer and they hang up.......914-294-2277, don't answer!

energy companies call A LOT because they can offer alternative supply to your regular company...and, franly, the prices are often better

This number just called us, and left a message. Noisy talking in the background, caller repeatedly said "Hello. Hello. Hello." We are also Verizon customers. I dont know a single company that wont sell your information. :-/

They called me claiming to be ConEd, and wanted in cut my bills in half.  My suggestion to them was to make sure they know who they are calling before they dial, as we aren't NYC residents, even remotely!  They asked where I live as I could still be ConEd.  I told them it would be news to our utility suppliers!  I hung up.  Stupid people don't deserve courtesies like a good-bye.

If Verizon is selling information, then it's time my husband and I do what we plan to in the future:  switch to TracFone.  That way they can't really do much damage!  We can always buy a new phone, but can't replace the money and time if the scammers get hold of our personal information.

We've just received a phone call from this number and have been receiving lots of similar phone calls from different numbers, and the most shocking it's how they know our surname. As we do NOT give our phone number ever, there's ONLY one explanation: Verizon, our phone company is selling our data. What a shame!!! Guys, be careful!!!

Got one call past two days - trying to pretend they were Central Hudson (utility company), making sure I got my "refund"... except I'm not a Central Hudson customer.

This number is a scam.  They are calling from different locations.  They said they are IDT energy co. and will cut your con ed. bills after Sandi.

Got 2 calls today--Caller ID said Queens (meaning Queens, NY). No message left, so I came here to this site.  I don't pick up on calls I don't recognize, and now I see I don't need to. Thank you Jay & Holly for posting. I now plan to block this number through my phone company.

Same thing no one there.

This number has called me multiple times over the past month or more.  No one is ever on the other end of the line when I answer.  I just called the number back and it immediately went to the answering machine of an energy company.
