I got a call from this number the other day caller I.D.  said T MOBILE I answered thinking it might be someone I knew calling from a cellphone. A recorded message started to play it said  as a con ed customer I was entitled to a discount do to the new deregulation laws if I was not interested press 3. which I did and the call was terminated. I have received about a half dozen of these calls lately all with different numbers using the 718 area code and some upstate NY area codes, most or all are from non working numbers. These calls are not from con ed or have anything to do with con ed but there are a few local esco companies that are trying to get new customers using this telemarketing scam. The only way to find out who is responsible for the calls to to find out what company wants you to switch service. I personally do not deal with con ed so there is no reason for me to be getting these calls. I had one company call my cellphone a while back a company called Sparks Energy they used the same type of scam. Once I found out who they were I contacted them via email and notified them not to contact my phone again I mentioned that they and there telemarketing service were violating the law and I would seek legal action against them if they continued. They responded to my email with an apology and stopped calling.

Received a call today and the caller ID displayed: Reece James. They didn't leave a mesage.

rec'd a call today but they hung up as soon as I answered.

I got the same EXACT thing. Same call, same voicemail when i call back..

Called and said they were representing Con Ed and if I wanted a discount on my bill because of the recent settlement I should supply my account number.  I hung up redialed and got a voice mail to a Middle eastern sounding female name- no company id
