I have had more than 45 calls in one hour from this person David Lewis and not just from this number.  He is using another number 718-971-5897.  Abusive and harrassing is a crime.  I have requested for him to mail me documentation that I owe money.  I never receive anything in the mail and today he states he is having me arrested.  Sometimes you don't know who your threatening.  I am calling my cousin that is a REAL policeman and contacting the California District Attorney's Office to have these people arrested for falsly representing their office.  GE Collections won't be in business much longer with this illegal behavior!

I received a call from "Kevin Foster" a Caucasian name however he sounded middle eastern and threatened me if I didn't call him and pay him for a lawsuit he said he had against me and if I didn't pay him he was going to have me arrested.

Why on Earth would you want a C&D from a South Asian fraud factory? That or a debt validation demand is what *you* would send *them*. As already discussed in this thread, that cannot happen unless the faux collectors are within your own nation's borders.

I just received this call from a Karen Foster also, barely understood the vm. called her and she answered the phone personally. most law firms I know you get a receptionist not the lawyer themselves. told me that they would be serving me with court papers at my work and home for a loan I supposedly took out on the internet. said that it was with cash advance a website that deals with four hundred companies. I repeatedly asked her which company it was suing me and she kept saying that it was the website. that right there told me it was a scam, because she never would tell me which one of the four hundred it was. asked about documentation and she said it was an online loan and there was no paperwork on it. then preceded to tell me that the officer serving me had all the paperwork. Why would he have it????? told them I need proof before I sent money and she said I would not be able to get that until I paid and then they would email that to me. told her that she would just have to take me to court. She had a real heavy accent and tried to read me all this legal stuff about collaterol and junk I told her whatever send me paperwork or take me to court. she then said I better get a lawyer because if I lost it could cost me up to $7000 without one. just did a search on yellowpages.com and the number doesn't exist. also no name for law firm just that she was from one. be careful everyone. she did know my phone number name and last four of my social but that is it. has called me twice now in the last two weeks, and both times shows unknown number on my phone.

I just received a call from this number saying there's a lawsuit out on  me for something...he calls all the time. I have a prepaid phone, not sure if I can block this number, if its a scam, they need to try some where else.....

I also received a call from a so called John- Hancock letting me know that they are beginning to start legal actions against me and I will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Did not respond back to them next message was even more urgent and longer, will have to block these folks from calling me it is shame what people will do and said and it is simply not right, how can we turn the tables on them, and we will be the ones prosecuting them to the full extent of the law.

Karen Foster from the Law Firm couldn't understand whose name she rambled through saying.. But she pretty much threaten whom ever she was asking for by saying it was a lawsuit fil

Just got a voice msg from this number...said her name is Karen foster and there is a law suit against me and Ibbetter call her back NOW or else I'm in serious trouble.  She said she has my name and social security number but she never even said my name in the message. I wonder if this is some kind of identity  theft  ploy.  Like you call them back and have to verify your name and social and then they have your info.  Idk but she left me like a 3 minute message and it was pretty threatening and some of it was hard to understand because of the accent. I'm gonna block this number but maybe I should have some fun with these people and have my attorney call them. Lol

This caller who is Indian says his name is John Myers. A lawsuit supposedly filed for crimes I know nothing about nor am even familiar with who they are claiming to represent. How can these people be stopped from harassing people and continuing such a scam?! They are doing something illegal and should be stopped!

keep getting calls saying a legal matter against you in court filings..says name is John Hancock he has an foreign accent,...calls every month or so.

There is no merit or foundation for this to be true.  It has to be a scam!!

I got the same call on my cell phone.  I didn't call him back.  I will call sprint to block the number.

I have received calls like this before and am told that there is a lawsuit against me.

The person calling from 718 971 5897 referred to himself as 'John Hancock'.  I thought 'how witty'.  He was deffinately of Indian nationality.  I have bocked this number and encourage others to do the same.

I am sick and tired of these threats from people who don't even live here in America and can barely speak English.  Don't threaten me or my family or you will be sorry.  I have already reported this to police!!

They are calling a business.  How do they get removed?

I got a call from this same number at 7am this morning and it woke me up.  I let them leave a vm message and when I got up I called them back to see what they wanted.  When they told me that they were from some law office and that I owed $400 on an online debt, I interrupted them and said, "Well, I am sorry, but you called me at 7am and woke up my entire household and under federal law my debt is now paid in full, because YOU broke a federal law, sorry about your bad luck." Then I hung up. I started the day fuming.  Then I get a vm about an hour ago from the notorious Kathy Martin, saying that I must not disregard the call as it is of a legal nature.  Of course, I called back, but no one would let me speak to this Kathy Martin, just a supervisor who told me what I already knew.  I got on my computer as he was rambling off my criminal charges and googled this number.  When he was done, I politely asked him if I could ask him a simple question.He stopped and so I said, "I just googled this phone number that you are calling me from and why is it that so many people are saying you are a scammer?  Oh by the way, this call is being recorded, because when we hang up I am taking this recording to my local police department and I won't be the one that they will arrest."  He hung up.

I keep getting calls fromm this number saying that they are from a law office and that they are regarding a cash loan. I told them that I called my local police dept about them. They are terrible.They expect to pay something without receiving any [paper work.

I got a threatening call from a gentleman whom I could hardly understand saying I was going to get arrested at home or work and that if I settled they could take care of the debt immediately...when I started asking questions I was told not to speak and he became very rude and hung up...so I called him back multiple times BC he kept hanging up on me and advised what they were doing was illegal and I was going to turn them in...he then yelled at me to shut up and hung up the phone...what a waste of my morning

Kathy Martin says she's from law firm but no name of firm & this regards a legal case & my lawyer & I better call her back and before she hung up she said best of luck.
she left this message on my answering machine-number came up under private caller & I don't answer numbers I don't know. But they call 3-4 times a day.

I got the same phone calls about 4 months ago then I started calling them back and asking for things like the name of the law firm, their bar number, and where they were located. I also ask them when I took this loan out, how much, and when I was supposed to pay it back. They got tired of me and told me to quit calling them and I said I would if they quit calling me, it worked till today. Same guy called me, I told him I remembered him and asked if he wanted to play this game, he said yes. I asked for his law firm he told me Mother f....... mother f..... mother and hung up. I called back and the number was no longer in service. I have way too much fun.

Total Scam " Kath Martin" some law firm Baker and McKinzie out of the Bronks total scam and then start to make threats to you they have called from several numbers always the same thing getting tired of the garbage I try to call back and get a busy sig. Pains in the A@@

These people are paper tigers with their fake threats, and acts. The kids that play on their streets have more balls than them.

I just got this same call and the guy said that Advance America had given me an online loan and why didnt I pay it back. I told him I had never asked for an online loan. He then proceeded to to read me my rights and told me I was officially under arrest and to wait for an officer of the law to come get me. I laughed and hung up. I then called him back (blocking my number) and he called me every bad name he could think of, including some he obviously made up. I have had these calls before and the way I got them to stop is I would call them 50 times in one day and just say stupid things to them. Eventually they gave up.
