i just got the something. the number that called me was773 273 6422. im in the 602 area code.

This also happened with me but from the number (435)363-1207 that is in Logan Utah leased out to LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS, LLC - UT. The phone is a voip phone, and I assume they are running a wide scan of the internet n sites like facebook and yahoo to get first names and phone numbers. These Voip phones have an IP address, so it's really just hiding where the texts are originally coming from. Not sure how they would scam you, and who would fall for it, but apparently it hasn't been happening for that long, I recommend everyone report it to the local police that the number comes from, though really this type of thing might be in FBI jurisdiction as it is in several states.

Also dude, that totally sucks that this happened right at that time, sorry for your loss, if you want to you can find more online about this scam and try to get involved with your local police department so that you can get some justice out of it.

i got a message on my phone saying add me to your yahoo if you want to know whow i am. i told them i dont add people i dont know and they havent text back. their id is textieflirter276 and their # is 1-760-206-4178. it is kind of creepy they know all of our info.

i've been getting txt from some one I don't know too, tonight it was from this number, I've just been ignoring the text messages because I don't know who it is....  I replied who is this and I'm waiting to see what kind of junk reply I get.  I logged onto to search this number before I even replied.  I'm thinking this is definitely a spamming, scamming thing... it DOES FREAK ME THAT THIS TXT'R HAS MY FIRST NAME AND MY NUMBER.

Mother F-ers I will find out who they are if it takes me the rest of my life.... Excuse my language fellow victims but,.... you A***ole Moth******ers ought to be shot down where you stand .... I am so livid they can do this crap..

It happened to me too. Kind of scary that they have your name and phone number.

I got the same thing with my own name inside 317 area code

my area code is 530. i got that exact txt

I am in area code 562 this is totally Spam I am a woman and got this with a note to add txtiegirl68 to Y!ahoo messenger.

Received a message from this number:

"hi Garry you there?? Have not heard from u in a while."

Same thing for me, also in 215.

I just got something similar from the same number.  Different screen name but everything else the same.  I'm also in the 215 area code

I received two texts from this number.

The first: "hi Jason you there? Have not heard from you in a while."

My first reply: "Hello. I'm fine. Who is this? I don't have your name & number programmed..."

Their second text: "haha if you want to know who this is you got to addd [sic] me on Y!ahoo [sic] messenger. my name is txtwoman806"

My second reply: "Haha. Not going to happen. Have a nice weekend."

Not sure who this person is, what they're up to, or how they got my first name and cell number.

- I got the first text at 3:08 P.M. on Oct 19, 2012
- I have a 215 area code.
