Caller ID says unknown number, doesn't leave message.  Annoying!

I have a silver king vacuumn cleaner. They have the same motor that is in the vacuums at a car wash. They are extremely good. I bought a used one for $25 at a yard sale. The replacement motor is like 30.00 and is easy to replace. They have a life time warranty.

It can suck the nails out of floors.

Telemarketer
We received a call from "C & K Research" a month or two ago doing a "survey" and one of the questions asked was what vacuum we owned.  That set off a red flag and I asked if they were a Vacuum company.  The representative said no.  Last week, I received a call from the company stating that I had won a prize ($300 gift certificate to an "online retailer") and they would like to send a rep to deliver it along with a demo on a product to get our opinion.  I asked if they were bringing a vacuum to try and sell me.  The rep said no, they just wanted an opinion on a product.

They were supposed to arrive on Thursday, Feb 2, 2012.  No one showed.  They had written down the day as Friday the 2nd.  When they called me Friday evening to confirm, I said they were supposed to come on Thursday the 2nd and we needed to reschedule.  The representative arrived on time at the rescheduled time and date (Feb 6, 2012) with several large boxes.  I asked if he was trying to sell a vacuum.  He said "you caught me. Yes, I'm a vacuum salesman."   He had a SIlver King Blue Max vacuum with him.

We let him in and he did the demo.  I'll admit that the demo was impressive.  However, the canister is large and ugly.  It looks like it belongs in an industrial setting.  It's also very expensive at $3275.00.

I checked out the "gift certificate," which I assumed would be for junk products, but wanted to see for sure.  They gave me two certificates of $500 for selectyourgifts.com.  All the products look like cheaply-made junk.  You pay a shipping & handling fee, plus a $5.00 order fee.  The S&H fee pretty much reflects the value of the products.

I feel that it's very deceptive to state that you are doing a "survey," when you are really trying to sell vacuum cleaners.  It's also deceptive to state that you "won" a certificate that they give to everybody.  I prefer to deal with companies that are upfront and honest.  I will not do business with this company.

The actual company is C & K Distributing of Colorado Springs, CO.  They have a BBB listing (A rated) and a different phone number: (719) 574-1516.

got the same scam going here.  I even asked the caller if they would be demonstarting a vacuum, recognizing this scam and she told no.  They set an appointment for 10 am this morning - no one showed.  I was finally able to reach someone at 11 and she told me the driver had been in a car accident and could they come at 12:30 - no show again.  I finally got ahold of someone and she said well, he had a flat and someone would be here at the LATEST at 2 - it's 2:30 and I have yet to see anyone.  I have wasted an entire day waiting on these guys.  I will absolutely be reporting this company to everyone that I can think of.

Survey
Had a teenage girl come around the neighborhood asking for phone and address for a "$200 Grocery Giveaway". Been receiving calls about a survey asking what type of car I have and vacuum I use. Asked to set up an appointment to view a product-air purifier- and answer marketing questions about the product. Was told I get a 2/3 night vacation and I had won a $300 grocery giveaway- only valid online at http://www.certificatesavings.com, which I hear you pay more in shipping than you do for the item. Don't waste your time. Rated by BBB but clearly not a valid rating. Rip off. The company goes by KMAX and CKResearch depending on who you talk with. No company website.

Scam.

KMAX market research firm does a survey and calls back a week later with a "prize". You need to view a product at your door to claim the prize and answer another survey.

They are scam artists.
