I just called got a call from Solar Wavs, I got some info. Said the dispatcher and supervisor was named Maya and could be reached at 719-574-8085. I also got offered a $300 gift to go shopping to so many top stores online, etc; or a vacation package for 3 days and nights paid for a those top hotels. I kept asking questions and she kept going over, I wana see if this is real or what's up. It is an AirMax2000 as most have mentioned. I think this is funny and wish they try something on me. Well, we'll see what happens tomorrow. Haha.

Same deal as others on this thread. Took a "survey" several weeks ago re smokers, pets and allergies in the house. Today got a call saying I had won a $400 gift card but had to watch a demonstration of a new device called the Air2000. They wanted my opinion before I could get the gift card. I was suspicious when the caller could/would not describe the device. When she tried to set up an appointment, I told her I was skeptical and needed to check on her company, She would not give me her phone number but she agreed to call back.
Thanks to all the comments on this thread, I will refuse the gift card and not schedule an appointment. At our age, we do not need $3700 vacuum cleaner unless it makes beds.

Got a call from them a few days ago for a quick survey.  Answered their questions and I was put into a drawing...you guessed it...I Won!  $500 GC or a 3 day trip.  I just had to listen to a 30 minute presentation at my home. Whatever...this has SCAM written all over it.  I told the CSR that if this was a true sweepstakes, then I should get my prize with no strings attached.  She said there are no strings attached, you just have to listen to a presentation and we are not trying to sell you anything.  Fine, then send me my prize in the mail.  Sorry we can't do that, you have to sign for it.  No thanks, if you can't just send it to me then this is a SCAM.

I got a call from C&K, 719-258-1710 (SOLAR WAVS) and was asked to do a 60 second survey, which I did.  When I satarted asking questions, the gentleman was very quick to tell me that they do research for other companies and then did say that I might get a call back telling me that I had won something.  At that point I asked him to not put me on that list and I told him that I was on the do not call list and he quickly said I would be taken off.  So we'll see if I get additional calls.

I just got a call from C&K, and the number they gave me was 719-574-8085. They said I had won a $300 online gift certificate. I asked her point blank if this was a scam, and she started coughing her head off before she said no. She wants me to schedule a meeting to see a demonstration of the Air 2000. She said she would call next week to schedule it. My phone ID said private caller. I believe this is a scam and I will forfeit my $300 gift certificate. I could hear a lot of other people in the background on the phone around this caller saying C&K. I think  it is a boiler room of callers setting up scams.

Kmax, Solar Wavs, C & K Distro / Research, Silverking International they are all the same, calling from the same phone numbers. beware hold on to your pocket books. You are going to go the hard sell if you pay more then $700 for the Blue Max Air 2000 you have been taken to the cleaner... There are better Vac's out there for under a $1000.

Just look at their "LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY FOR DOMESTIC USE ONLY"
"After three years from the date of purchase. Silver King International will replace any motor or fan assembly for a maximum charge of $90.00 plus labor with proof of purchase, a copy of this warranty and return of the defective part."

So after three years you $90 for the motor and have to pay labor on top of that. not much of a warranty for $3000 vaccum cleaner.

Look at the some other vendors who's top of the line vacs have a 7 year warranty with no labor or part charges for the motor and it cost less than $500 so you can buy a new vac every 7yrs after warranty runs out (if neeeded) and be good for the next 42yrs. Don't be a sucker

Who are the people who get the hard sell for a vacuum cleaner that is worth less than $700 and they are selling for $3700. They call people who are on the NDNCR, and are scammers. If there Vac's were so great they would be in the stores, but you need a high pressure con man to get people to spend $3700. When they walk away they say there is a sucker born every second...

and the saga continues......  About a week ago a young lady came to my door asking if I would take a quick survey and my name would be put into a drawing for a $200.00 grocery giveaway. Curious if it was the same company I complied. The card she gave me said "$200.00 grocery giveaway ...keep by your phone....C&K research".  A few days later I get a call from....you guessed it....C&K research. They had not yet drawn for the groceries....but my name had been entered into another drawing and "I had won a gift certificate". To receive it I just had to set an appointment when their driver could bring it by ...but first he had to demonstrate a product and get our "opinion on it".  I wanted to see how far this thing would go but was unable to talk at the time so I said as much and hung up. I have not heard anything back as of this writing. It's one thing to try to sell a product and its another to be misleading and deceitful. I am considering filing a complaint with the better business bureau about their business practices.

Not enough space above so I continue here.   The free gift card they offered..... All I had to do was pay shipping for the items I wanted. When I went to the online store to see what was available I found it was mostly a bunch of junk. The cost to "ship the item" was more than I could go to the store to buy the thing for in the first place. I have sold and shipped many items myself I know it did not cost any ware close to what they were asking. What you would actually be doing is paying for the item and shipping ...the gift certificate is just a gimmick. I believe the reason they use these tactics....which I think are deceiving...is to get them in the door. If they called you and said they wanted come to your house to demonstrate an over priced vacuum cleaner they would not get any appointments. The "driver" who came said he usually sells about 14 of them a month....so it seems to be working for them. It does seem to be a good vacuum cleaner and my wife is happy with it. I tried to find things about C&K on line ..a web site or something...but nothing...I believe they are part of the company selling the vacuums and the C&K is just a ploy.

I received a call from CNK (C&K) research asking me to do a survey which I did. A week later I received a call stating I have received a $500 gift certificate for an online store and in order to get it a "driver" had to stop by and do a demonstration, then he would give me the gift certificate The caller emphasized that both myself and my wife had to be present. I knew from having been in sales that when ever a big sale was to made it was necessary to have both decision makers present. I asked specifically about them trying to sell me something and they assured me that was not the case and that the item being demonstrated was only in the research stage...not yet in production. When the guy showed up ....you guessed it...he had a vacuum cleaner ... which he proceeded to demonstrate. My wife had been against the guy coming in the first place and said she would not buy anything... and his coming was a waste of time but when he showed her what it could do she could not whip out her credit card fast enough. It is a good vacuum but way over priced.... $3700.00. My wife wanted it and I was able to talk the guy down to $2500.

These people keep calling me!  I don't know if it's the vacuum cleaner people because I never answer and turn off the answering machine when I see them on caller id.  They call usually in the evenings, but sometimes around 1-2 pm.  Even when I'm away from home and the answering machine picks up, they never leave a message.  The name on the caller id is CNK.  That's all, just the letters CNK, plus the number.  On reverse lookup sites, it just says they are from Colorado Springs.  Most of the google results for CNK show results for Cinemark Holdings, the movie theaters.  So, I don't know what this is about.
Oh, yeah, I'm on the do not call list as well.  Fat lot of good it does.

i dont understand why everyone is so afraid to veiw a vacuum cleaner obviously they are a legit business for five with the bbb they just called me and i did their short presentation for some lame gifts, but who cares they never tried to kill me or rape my wife, its not like they are going to rob you and tie you up and steal your money . all you have to do is pay $50 refundable deposit for the vacation but i plan on using it.
i did the research the 500 gift certificate is a buch of crap tho. but only if you really would use any of they seem like a harmless vacuum sales company just trying to pay you back for your time. very generic

I received a call from a Randy who works for Kmax Research.  He stated that I took a surve on 6/17/09 and my name was chosen to receive $500.00 gift certificate or a FREE vacation for 2 nights/3days.  In order to receive these gifts we were to preview a demonstration of a product.  Sounds like the same deal that the aforementioned individuals received. Has ANYONE received these free gifts after an appointment with a Kmax representative?  Just wondering.  It DOES sound to good to be true.  SO MANY SCAMS OUT THERE!

I use to work for a company like this telemarketing, they had pretty much the same scams with the exception that the people that called you told you that they would be comming to your home to give a free demo of the vac and clean a room for free - which they did. This vac did every type of floor hardwood, carpet, tile etc. and there was always a answer to every question you asked. Of course they tried to sell the vac in the process but regardless of buying or not you still got the original promise that you got a floor cleaned for free.

Also you wonder why they ask you questions like:

Kids or Pets - if you ask why they give you an answer something like they don't want to send someone who is allergic to animals or someone that doesnt like children..the real reason is bc if you have kids or pets chances are your floors are stained, and if your children have allergies its even better for the sales rep. The company i worked for would run the vac over your mattress and all this dust would come up which they would explain to you are "dust mites" (which do exsist if you google or you tube) and they would say this is the cause of your childs allergies.

They might ask if you work days or nights?..if you ask why they will tell you its just a simple question to see what slots/times are available compared to telling you all of them for day & night. The truth.. this is to make sure that work so if you do decide that you want to buy this vac (which was 2000.00 at the company i worked at) that you have a job to be able to afford it. Real good telemarketers might ask you what kind of work you do..if you get angry or annoyed they simply apoligize for being so personal and explain that they are just outgoing people..then usually youu feel bad and end up telling them anyways.

Do you own or rent your house? Why you ask?..they will tell you that it is for insurance purposes or something of that nature that you might not fully understand nor do you care for a long explantion which they will be sure to have. The reason is bc if you own your house you obviously could afford the vac in most cases..compared to people who are renting apartments that are most likely more interested in purchasing a house than a 2000.00 vac.

What kind of car will be in the driveway when they arrive so they know it is the correct house? (A lot of the time they will also throw in what color is the house or is there any land marks in the yard to make this question look normal)What they are doing is seeing what kind of car you drive!! If its new, old, nice. If you have a house, kids, and nice car this is becomming very positve for them.

Last question..This may/may not be asked it all depends on your answers to the other questions..Do you carry an american express, visa, mastercard or discover? You say WHAT why do these people need this info?..They might tell you this is survey all they are doing is simply checking boxes, they are not taking any numbers/info..they work hand in hand with credit card companies and if you do not wish to answer thats okay or something similar..a lot of the time after they explain that they dont need info people will tell them what the have. This is really just to see what kind/how many credit cards (or options) that you have - to purchase this product.

The DO NOT CALL LIST - there are so many ways around this.
Where i worked the reps that came to your house (if you went thru the full demo) would tell you they needed minimum 15 names/numbers of friends/family to get full credit for their demos which most people provide if they are impressed and like the person who just cleaned their house for free..and also this would entitle them to the same service by the same person who cleaned for them and it would provide the worker with future prospects. This also gives the telemarketers people to call regardless of whether they are on the do not call list bc your friend/family is the one who gave the number..not a company. The companies that print random numbers for the telemarketers to call is the same companies you call to be on the do not call list so it is impossible to recieve phone calls if you are on this list..unless you have not renewed..which you need to do every 3 months otherwise you go back into the data base of numbers to call.

I'm sure this company works the same way or very similar. The best thing to do is just not answer the phone. Chances are if your getting calls numerous times a day that its someone you know that gave the phone number out. Telemarketers dont call the same "cold call sheet" over and over again, since they are so easy to get and tons of them. Hope this helps!

I received a phone call from this company asking to take a survey, did the same things as stated above. Said I won a certificate for $500.00. Driver showed up as I was reading the below paragraph. I told him if I would have done the research on Kmax, I would have not had you come over.  He was confused and said what research? I then read the paragraph to him and it was exactly the same as below.  My wife was not home so he mentioned he could not do it. But the lady on the phone never said my wife had to be home. He wanted to reschedule, but I told him no thanks.  I mentioned that the prize says on the internet that you pay more in shipping and it's not really worth it.  HE ACTUALLY AGREED!  Said it was crap prizes and I would be better off going with a vacation package, but even those cost $50.00 non refundable.  At least he was honest I guess.  Seemed like a cool guy, but definitely a pitch to sell you that vacuum by Blue Max

"After taking the survey and receiving the call stating that I had "won" the $500 gift cert., I was told that a "driver" would need to show me a product and it did not matter whether we liked it or not.  First, the product is a vacuum, but they don't say that so that they can entrap consumers.  Second, the reason that the "driver" comes to the home is deceptive.  In fact, the "driver" is there to sell the vacuum.  It is not a company that does marketing research, it is a company that sells a product - the Bluemax vacuum made by Silver King.  Third, once the presentation is complete, they give you the $500 gift certificate and it is worthless!  The website you have to go to is www.freegiftsamerica.com  Then you have to type in a passcode to access it.  Once you enter the website you learn that you have to pay shipping and handling per product purchased with a minimum S&H of $16.95.  So, in electronics, you can purchase a Coby DVD 209 for just the S&H costs of $43.54.  If you go to e-bay or amazon, you can buy the same exact product for less, in fact $25 with free S&H from Amazon.  Now, the vacuum is actually a really great product that does a great job cleaning, but the deception necessary to sell this great product is so disturbing that I had to let everyone know!"

Survey
About a week ago, a gentleman called and said he was doing a consumer survey. Very short, wanted to know if we were smokers, had pets, and what line of work my husband and I were in. This evening, I got another call saying my name had been entered in a drawing for taking that survey and I won. My prize is a $500 gift certificate to some mail-order company and a 2 night stay at several locations throughout the U.S. The man said there was no obligation, I would just be asked to take another survey. He wanted to schedule a time when both my husband and I could be home, a delivery driver from a company on Colo. Springs would come to our house and show us a new, revolutionary air purifier being made in that city. After using it for a few minutes, we would take a 10-question survey, the driver would give us our prize package and he'd be on his way. The man who called tonight said that 50 prize packages were awarded out of 2000 surveys, all done within the state of Colo. I tend to go along with the old adage: If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!
