Chris Walker calls stating my son who is mentally disabled signed a contract for merchandise & hasn't paid. I informed him my son cannot legally sign a contract per court guardianship papers. Didn't matter, he became rude, vulgar, disrespectful. Said if my son didn't pay they'd get him one way or another. Has my son in fear of leaving the house now. Oh & for your information the guy having the contract signed has been thrown in jail!

The only reason collection agencies are in existence is because people don't pay the bills they owe!  They skirt the original creditor (thus the reason for the high prices we all have to end up paying - worse than shoplifting in my opinion) and then try everything they can to evade the debt until they feel either the statute of limitations is up or it has been long enough to drop off of their credit report.

A novel idea "PAY YOUR BILLS"!!!!!!!!  Don't finance more than you can afford and if you do get in some sort of financial trouble, be honest with your creditor and/or the collection agency.  Many will work with you.

The "SCAMMERS" as you so eloquently put it are the people who aren't paying bills.  Creditors either hire agencies or sell their charged off accounts to try to recoup some of their losses.

Or, let's reinstate debtor prisons.  Then you won't have to worry about anyone calling to collect because a vast majority of the population will be locked up.

We all get mistaken calls.  Grow up and be professional.  Explain they have gotten the wrong # and ask to be removed from their system.  I have had to do this on numerous occassions and have not had one issue.

It's 3+1/2 yrs. after all these posts and this company is STILL operating with "business as usual" !!
The call we got is IDENTICAL to some written here, only the name is different.
So my question is: WHY HASN'T THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION OR SOME OTHER AGENCY SHUT THESE SCAMMERS DOWN?  The only reason I can think of is that these gov. agencies are paid off by these wealthy collectiion agencies.  "Money talks".  How are they ANY different than those famous Nigerian Scam outfits?  The only difference is that they are located here instead of Nigeria.  So you'd think that, under the laws of this country, they would be majorly fined or shut down?  APPARENTLY NOT!!

Quit using your name as a reference for people who don't pay their bills!

I received a call today from a man claiming his name was "Cassandra" calling from Imperial Credit Systems.  I asked to speak with a supervisors because "Cassandra" was extremely rude.  A "manager" named Steve Hill called looking for my roommate, who has been out of work for almost two years.  I asked why his company was calling on a Sunday and who HIS supervisor was; he told me "good luck" finding out who HIS supervisor was and to have my roommate stop putting my phone number down as a reference.

How can I get these rude people to stop calling me?

I received a call from ICS a man named Ray Anthony... He left me a message at my work that he had some good news and good figures for me??? He left a call back number 888-240-3954. What a joke do you really think I am not going to look up your company before calling you back. I don't have any collections out there that I know of so I don't know why he is calling me.

I received a call like I do several times a week from 719-884-4688.  Usually there is never a message left.  I have called the number back many times to see who called.  The phone number is never answered. The phone will just ring forever.  The other day, October 22, 2007, I finally got a message from the caller.  It was a woman's voice.  She said, "It must suck to be scared to answer your phone", and then she hung up. Today, October 25, 2007, I received a call from this 719-884-4688 number.  The same voice left a message again. This time she stated her name as Teresa Ramsey.  She did not mention what company she was with or what she wanted. Her message said to call 888-240-3954, "if I dare".  I called it and the person on the phone was very rude. I aske what company it was and was told that it was ICS (Imperial Credit Systems). I asked what this was in regards to and was told, "just to dial the extension #". The person then hung up on me. I have been unemployed for over a year now and have had no income what so ever. I have been trying to find a job and would take anything at this point. All of my life I have paid my bills. I just do not have the capacity to do that now. My main goal is to keep my wife, daughter and 5 month old grandson from having to live on the street. I wish that I could pay my back bills. Being in this situation is much tougher when you have people like ICS calling everyday to harass you and belittle you for not having any income. I pray that some day these people might be in the same situation as me to learn a bit of compassion.

Today, at 1:44 PM Central Time (as recorded by my caller ID) I received a call from this number (719-884-0364).  I was in the bathroom, and my 8 year old Nephew answered the phone - which he isn't supposed to do yet.  As I tried to hurry out of the bathroom, I heard my Nephew say "she's not here now".  A few moments later I took the phone from him, and put my ear to it.  Here's what I heard this creep saying to my Nephew: "...that's too bad, because I'm supposed to go out with her for Ice Cream later..."  Clearly this man calling the midwest from New York was trying to take advantage of the trusting, naive nature of a child, and try to excite the child (by lying about an ice cream outing) into telling him things he has no business asking a child!!

When there was no excited reply from the child that he was expecting, he changed gears, sensing that the child was no longer the one on the phone.  "(Name removed for privacy)?  I hope so, because I have good news for (Name removed for privacy)!"

"Who is this," I asked.

"This is Tony Galiano," he replied, "I have good news for (Name removed for privacy)."  He then asked if I was the person he was looking for, a female name, which is hilarious since I am a male with a baritone voice.

"You have the wrong number, fella," I replied angrily - incensed that he'd tried to take advantage of a child.

I know who this guy is, I've heard the name "Tony Galiano" before.  He's a bill collector working for Imperial Credit Systems, Inc. 49 Winter Street, Weymouth, MA, 02188 - known as one of the worst collection agencies in the US, with a reputation for violations of the FDCPA including harrassmet.  I know because I've gotten voicemails from this person before (that time he was calling from 888-240-3954) where he didn't identify himself meaningfully - only "Tony Galiano" calling with "good news".  Yeah, right!

But as bad as their reputation is, I never would have thought they'd have stooped as low as to promise ice cream to a child from thousands of miles away, in a low life attempt to wheedle information from a kid!
