I've been getting calls from the National Locating Corporation. I reverse phoned it to Denver Colorado. It says they use a Ymax landline but I have no idea what that means. Whenever I try to call back I get the message that all their operators are busy and their voicemail is full. I know it's a different phone number than yours but think it's suspicious?

Got the same call last night for my husbands exwife last night. No way was I going to take responsibility for anything on her end anyway. I told them that. The woman spoke really fast saying they had already served her twice and they were proceeding to court regardless, I gave them her home number as I didn't know it was a scam last night. I called the number back today and got the name "national locating corporation" on the recording however. The number they called me from was (213)533-6220

I got a call from the same guy as Sarah and the same thing with call being dropped or hung up on.  The number used though was 214 628-6924

Same claim of legal action for someone, then wouldn't answer the return call.

Just got a call from "Jason Thomson" from the National locating corp. saying a legal complaint has been filed against my husband . The call came from 702-347-3246 and the name came up L Levien, but Jason's number is 844-232-9473. they change their numbers.

Some really drunk/dumb sounding, gum-chewing character called asking for somebody whose name he could not pronounce and who did not live with us. Seems our phone number must be on every mens room wall in the country. Ring ring ring ring, all day long, with nuisance calls.

Got a call this number.  The man ask if i was so and so and I said yes.  Then he proceeded to tell me he had some papers that needed to be delivered , that I had been accused of falsifing legal doccuments.  I ask who is this and he said Jason.  He then told me he had a number to call .  He asked if I would like to have it and I said no. Then I ask who are you representing and he said you didnt want the number and you will be served and hung up on me. He called me from this number 720-271-3833.  I live in Tennessee and he was calling from Colorado.  

100% scam.  Here is how it works.  They get a the phone number of a parent, probably from public records or they might be hacking your online backups for your cell phone.  Next they contact "mom" or "dad", and here come the threats of legal action, whatever.  You're supposed to bend to them and offer to pay to get little Johnny or Suzie off. If you are savvy but cautious maybe you pass the info on to the kid, who, thinking that mom or dad has cleared the way, calls up to see what this is all about and the first question they ask is for your DOB and last 4 SSN.  Now with that info an ID thief can have a field day.  Here are the names and numbers involved in the scam.  There is this one 720-271-3833 that comes back to "J Robertson" the caller we dealt with identified self as "Jason Thompson" but that is an alias I'm sure. Yes the inbound caller says they are from "National Locating Service" or something like that.  They give the victim a different phone number 844-643-6615 with some BS case number.  Callers to that number are greeted by "LTS associates."  If you refuse to play the game at any stage the "we'll see you in court" threat tumbles out.  SCAM SCAM SCAM, warn anyone in contact with them.

Got a call from this number.  Did not recognize it so I did not answer.  Check the number and found this message board.  Wanted to say thanks to everyone who posted.  Now I know not to answer if they call back.

Got a call just now, first time from this number, saying the same thing - the bit about calling to serve legal documents, but then the call dropped or the guy hung up on me, guy sounded white, young.  

Second call from these people. Same speech as the first.

I got a call from the same number. They were looking for my daughter and said that she has given my number out as a contact number and falsifying legal documents. I gave no information but my daughter has given my number out in the past as a contact number. I ask them to remove my number. They said they were going to remove my number . So I have no idea whether they are a scam or not. I also tried calling back and left my number for them to call me back.

A confused sounding man with a high voice said he was verifying if anybody was home to receive legal documents. I told him he had the wrong number, to which he answered "somebody filed a legal complaint against [an unfamiliar first name]".  What a fruitcake.

Got a call saying they wanted to deliver legal documents to one of my parents. I kinda assumed it was a scam and irritatedly asked "who is this????" It got completely quiet on the other end. They hung up. Don't give them any information!!!!!

I just got a call from them then called an 800 to figure out what was going on they wouldn't send me any proof and when I said I am not paying them they said good luck in court and hung up.

Received a similar call to Al's and talked to an attorney, who said this is almost certainly a scam, as this doesn't follow the legal process of serving documents.

I believe they are a legal service i got a call from them on 1/16/2014 and asking for someone i didnt know so they could deliver legal documents and they called me twice within half an hour but i could be completely wrong and it could be a scam cause it is a cell phone number from sprint.
