I received a call this morning from the Energy Conservation Alliance. The new number is 720-634-7115. I called the number and got a recording informing them to remove me from their call list and informed them I am registering a complaint with the FCC, which I did.

Started working for a certain co . just started out here in Las vegas. This Co. Sounds familar to the co. that ripped one of my friends 2 years ago. I am looking for a new job , because i have had over 30 window deals in the last 3 weeks sence i have been there many cash deals and not received a dime as of yet. anad to top it off my friend told me to be very careful with companys like this, thata when he told 2 years ago Energy Conservation Alliance ripped him and about 30ers, him for over 3500 dollars alone . i need to know if you know anything about a Tony Applehans, please let me know if you do and any info on this company thanks Jeff My email is jeffjenterprises@yahoo.com

In tucson they go door to door. If you take the hook they call the scheduler on an iphone for an appt. They want all home owners present. They're vague about who they are and what services they provide. Sure smelled shady  though I can't say anything illegal.

OMG- Shut down because it was not profitable? What part of "non profit" escapes you. What type of honest employer,intentionally misleads its employees by telling them everything is fine,show up as usual on Monday,when they knew they were planning to strip the equipment and hit the road.

If you were not stealing the resources of the organization (the equipment,computers,coffee makers, even some personal affects of other employees,etc..), then why did you leave in the middle of the night, after misleading so many? Why is there a police report filed if you  you were acting under the direction of the "board"?  Remember the "non-profit" organization, the one with a "board"...it was not your equipment to take you dumb s****!! It belongs to the non profit, which , by the way ,has specific objectives and criteria that are subject to scrutiny in order to receive and keep its 501C designation .

Businesses and organizations in both the private and public sector have trouble and fail all the time, It is a sad reality,which may require a regrettable  delivery of the unfortunate facts to all of those involved,,and a professional manger would do just that. People that are straight forward,forthright and that have any integrity don't pack up after hours,leave through the side door under the cloak of darkness,stuffing computers in their personal vehicles,parked in the rear lot ,not visible from the road, and then without a word to those that had showed up 6 days a week for months ,drive away with their phones shut off. ....but thieves would,

I sold windows for many years in the 90's and I am tired of these guys calling me and flat out trying to scam me.

Tom Martino is also a scam. All you have to do is pay him to get on the list, just because he is on TV does not make him good. My company has paid him $6000 so far to be on his list and he has never checked us out.

ERG is a huge scam, I sell the same window from Allside for half the price and it is my low end cheap window

Then why are you looking up the number on here? Site like this make it hard for scamemrs to trick people out of money on the phone, that's when they send shills like you to make posts like this.

The company in fact has changed their name many times and throw ownership back and forth amongst Larry, Gene and Greg. Larry is Genes father by the way. And the BBB.....come on now. Any company with that amount of complaints, no doubt, is a scam. Alyssa, Genes personal assistant, who was married to Genes brother, is another to be wary of. ALL THESE PEOPLE are con artist, money hungry individuals that even stab each other in the back to get what one wants. How these people are not in prison is just beyond me! Gene has often boasted about the amount of employees he has. 200 in the field! But there are rarely more than 6 around his office on any given day. and most of those are all his family members. there are desks and chairs, but no paper work. People just sitting there, waiting for victims to call in and render their hard earned money, believing it will save them in the long run. How many businesses do you know that have an IN HOUSE attorney? he sits in his corner, just waiting with the rest of them! Must be doing some pretty bad SH%! to have an attorney sleeping on site. There is some embezzlement issues as well. Hiding money from each other and wondering why you cant trust one another is.......well.......self explanatory. Gene is a gambler. Professionally and in real life. He has a girlfriend/wife.....but definately no 18 year old girl you speak of in previous post. He mostly brags but never produces. About like promises he makes and never keeps, the money we make and he will take! He has several kids with a couple women and is very much a "PLAYER" amongst women, business deals and family life. A 'player' in general. He has stolen money from employees by not paying them and is very self centered, money hungry, greedy individual. After serving time in prison, you would think he would of learned a heavy lesson. I think as the near months evolve, and with customer/employee assistance,  THEY ALL may find themselves a new place to hang out besides westminster, colorado. A room in Colorado State prison will suit them much better.

I was contacted by the Energy Conservation Alliance and they were very helpful to me. I have reviewed their website and found it to be very informing. They are a non profit that seeks to help homeowners like myself.

Becasue of their call, I was able to replace my windows and my siding and I'm delighted with the results too! So there is more than one side of the story here folks!

You people are all but liars yourselves. I worked for ECA and wa always treated fairly and was paid for every hour I worked.

Yes they shut down their call center in Las Vegas due to it not being profitable. They only too the equipment owned by the non profit and nothing more that I'm aware of. I would ask Sonja and Thejester if you were not paid for every hour that you worked for them? BECAUSE YOU WERE!  Every employee including myself were paid and I was never out one dime for the hours that I worked for them. They mailed me a check within one week of their leaving and I was very thankful for that.

You people are just "Sour Grapes" because you no longer have a job! ECA has helped many homeowners and continue to do so as I understand it.

I know both Patrick and Jessica and they have always been strait up and forthright.

Apparently you two babies have nothing better to do with your time and energy! Move on and quit sniveling like big babies. I know for a fact that you were all paid for every hour that you worked as I was.

I notice people doing some research and putting a few things together however, there are definitely some gaps that I can bridge.

First of all is the Energy Research Group a scam? Yes it is. You dont get much more crooked than Gene Applehanz. Greg Gallert is a joke of a project Manager and that is why they have sooo many complaints on the production side. Answering his phone calls and keeping an eye on his subcontractors(Installers) would be a great start.

Ill give you an overview from information I have gathered from former employees and you can be the judge. Some of the other names being mentioned are employees and former employees and this is also part of the problem. Gene has ripped off so many of his employees, you have now former employees stealing from him(Equipment,leads) etc and the remaining employees and the customers are the ones unfortunately being hurt.

Gene dangles the carrot to people who are living paycheck to paycheck and gets these guys really motivated to make their dream(financial) come true. He pays them a low to no base salary and makes these promises of thousands of dollars to be made in commissions to be made from their efforts. In the meantime he is having a real good time with his various expensive cars and from what a former employee told me, his 18 year old girlfriend that he has no shame about bragging about.

He pops in to work (sometimes) promises great income and wealth to his marketing people and then dissapears into the sunset to spend their bonus money.....you see he never pays these people their bonuses.

I have been told Cole Reese (The former General Manager) is no longer there as he has had someone invest money to start up his own company in Texas (Same business Windows & Siding)
From what I have been told, Cole is just guilty of being a jerk and lying to his employees to increase his own financial bottom line...but that is the extent of it.

What gets me is I have heard the same complaints over and over about these people "running" this company. They arent around enough to see what is going on around the office however, they are quick to gossip and complain about the people that are making them all of this money.

From what I have seen and have been told numerous times, this is a very slimy industry. It doesnt take much to get going and the people involved are pretty dishonest.

While every window and siding contractor isnt dishonest, PLEASE do your homework. I have heard to many stories of scams and employees being ripped off to think otherwise. If they are going to rip off their own employees, what do you think they will do to you?

They have been known to also hire some of the slimiest sales people in the business. Dont let them off the hook either. They have been selling you scams and knowing its dishonest while making a nice six figure plus income. Find out who worked for companies like this and avoid them like the plague. They will just work for someone else or start up their own business and do the same thing.  Knowing who theses reps are and not doing business with them REGARDLESS of where they have went is the only was to get this garbage out of the industry.

Received a call from a woman representing this group. I told her I had my own program, I was a big boy and did not need her help and hung up. The phone number on my caller id was 303-353-1865. Different from the 720 number cited in this post, but the same group. I would like their address so I too can make a visit.

Since I did not fall for their scam, I am not sure if a call/email to the Attorney General would be of value but will let them rant on next time they call me.

Why are these guys listed on the Tom Martino referral list?  Will you please email him with this inco so they are dropped from the Good list?  I am looking for window replacement firms and the referrals for these guys are very good....but it could be all fake based on what you are writing about them!B

I would suggest that you check with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department-Northwest command and get the event numberand they will be able to point you in the right direction.

Energy research group is a classic example of why the system to hold companys and there owners accountable does not work. The owner Eugene Applehans has owned several companys and has been fined several times for false advertising and decieving homeowners. He is indorsed by Tom Martino because he pays his fees and has been revoked by the bbb with an f rating. This guy has been ducking and dodging for years. He has paid the attorney general several hundreds of thousands of dollars and is why they continue to allow him to victimize the public. As far as Tom Martino who happens to be the only refrence base that Energy Research Group has left, HAS SOLD OUT FOR THE MIGHTY DOLLAR. WHO IS THE BIGGER CROOK? Very curious to see what response this might pull. How many employees of Energy Research Group and Gene Applehans will respond as they have on most of the positive reviews on this site

This is nothing but a SCAM!! They had a call center in Las Vegas Nevada that was ran by Patrick Smith and Jessica Cranson. There is also a call center in Denver, Colorado. What they will do is call you up and tell you that you will be compensated for documenting energy savings in your home. THIS IS NOTHING BUT A PLOY, to get you transferred over to ENERGY RESEARCH GROUP, which is the other part of this scam. PATTY, DARREL, SHELLY, BARBARA, NATASHA and others will then attempt to set up an appointment with you to sell you windows or siding. These people are not NON-PROFIT! They are running nothing but a SCAM--PLEASE HANG UP THE TELEPHONE as soon as they start in with their pitch. PATRCIK SMITH and JESSICA CRANSON STOLE ALL OF THE EQUIPMENT from the LAS VEGAS Office while not paying 14 employees and are now running the same Operation for ACCENT WINDOWS AND MORE. Also, there is an active CRIMINIAL COMPLAINT that has been filed in CLARK COUNTY NEVADA against PATRICK SMITH AND JESSICA CRANSON for THEFT.

You are so exposed now. The Energy Conservation Alliance had an office in Las Vegas, hired alot of people for their phone room, professed their commitment to helping the public,and reassured these employees that their jobs were not in jeopardy and to hang in there when they reduced hours the last two weeks for "system upgrades". All of this and more rhetoric(b***s***),has proven to be light years from the truth,and once again a disheartening example of the abuse of a non profit  designation,in the hands of conscienciousless cons.
Jessica Cranson a manager, recently engaged to Patrick S. Smith (still married),the executive director of the ECA, and protoge of Cole Reese,added insult to injury, by asking everyone to at least be professional and give proper notice if they were going to look for and pick up another job to augment a barely livable wage.Last Saturday,in the last hour of the shift,announced that full time hours would resume on the following Monday...good news for all that were truly committed to the job and what we were lead to believe to be a good cause.
Monday arrives, and a phone call says that we would start a few hours late to get  the system ready,so to please show up at 3:30 pm. So we did, to find all the computers gone, personal effects gone, and obviously screwed out of paychecks. These are truly shameless , heartless people,who boldfaced lied to hard working people, have stolen the property of a non profit organization,(according to the ERG, who claims they knew nothing of all this, and were as in shock as the rest of us), and have used the important issue of energy conservation as a platform for their dirty scam.
We , the ones who are committed to this cause, will get to the bottom of this, assist any and all the agencies involved in the investigations, that will undoubtedly commence, and most of all request that all of you remain on the lookout for these fraudsters....FAIR ENOUGH!!!
