I keep getting these calls. I report them to the government that is supposed to take care of this crap. They DO NOT.  I have reverted to "push one", getting a live person on the line, then giving them a good cussing. If they don't like it, they can report me to the FCC................. THEN we can have a conversation about these types of calls !

This is a robo message that starts off:  "Due to the recent amount of burglaries in your area"  for some security system.  Really, I'm supposed to have an unlisted number.

This message is great.

my wife who is pushing 55 went to see the cherry blossoms in DC and was starting back home at only 2:00 PM, "too tired".

I played her this message on her voice mail so she would listen to it.

Robo call offering free "Medic Alert System for Seniors" from (724) 364-4111

Here is the text of the robocall:

"If you are a senior citizen, listen closely to the following information. Each year there's been a significant rise in the number of senior citizens suffering death and serious life threatening injuries from a delay in response time for medical emergencies, fires, burglaries, or even a simple fall. The American Heart Association and the American Diabetic Association are urging all seniors to get a personal life saving emergency medical alert system for their home. For the first time the senior medical advisory is providing senior citizens with this life saving emergency medical alert equipment at no charge to seniors. Press 1 now, to find out how with just one push of a button, you can have a live, certified emergency medical technician on the line to help you in just seconds. Again, press 1 now and you'll never have to feel helpless, worried, or by yourself in an emergency situation. Press 5 now to be removed from our senior medical advisory calling list."

We agree about how annoying and obnoxious the robo - pest- callers are, but I disagree that the Do Not Call list is useless. Now that we are signed up to it, we have proof positive that any cold call from an unidentified number *is* by definition a pest call, and not answer it. As you say, it only encourages them..they say "Aha! We have a live one with this number." Then they probably program the robocaller to call you four times a day.

I AGREE WITH CATE AS I ALSO GOT CALLS LOTS OF TIMES FROM THE NUMBERS SHE GAVE. WHAT PESTS AND I JUST LET IT RING. THEY SAY IF YOU ANSWER THEY KNOW IT IS A WORKING NUMBER.  DO NOT CALL LIST IS A BUNCH OF CRAP. MOST LIKELY THEY SELL YOUR NUMBER AS I DO NOT TRUST ANYONE AND THEY SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO STOP THESE AWFUL ANNOYING ROBO CALLS. IF I WANT SOMETHING I WILL CALL A RELIABLE PLACE.

This is the same exact robo message that 215-687-4824 used yesterday (4-5-13), twice on Thursday, and once the day before that. Prior to that, beginning on Wed. 3-27-13, they called every single day from 412-307-3889. They are pushing some sort of "free" medic-alert-type equipment for seniors (HA! just wait till you see the monthly charges.) They claim to be Senior Medical Advisors. It could be a pest caller working to push this equipment for more than one business. So far, all three pest numbers used have Pennsylvania area codes. I am wondering whether Geisinger could be behind this...I get automated pest calls from them, demanding I talk to the robot and tell it whether they have my real name, etc. Very annoying, and not very helpful to anyone. If you want a medical alert system, deal with a local vendor, and never give out any info to these sorts of pests.
