Exactly! You have to take the time to report them. This is the Do Not call Registry: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx, and this is the FCC: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm?id=d1e37. They both will investigate if enough people file a complaint.

Don't know what caller wanted.  But will be reporting to do not call.

Got call from this number and guy says he is with General Electric Security and is giving away a wireless system to get into the neighborhood as free advertising...  doubt it very seriously.

I think this number is related to the crooks @ 1-201-858-2987  and 1-845-442-6245

Someone wanted to give me a $1,200 security system so I can tell my neighbors all about how AWESOME this company is.

Did not let them finish their sales pitch.

Told them I am on the DNC list & to remove me from their calling list.

What do mean don't put our numbers in for things WE ELECT to purchase or what have you??? Hello, we pay for our phone service and this is America!!
We can choose what and who and when we want to use our own information & who we don't want to have our information.
That is why the laws were put into effect was to keep those out that we don't want......1st. register on the national do not call list.
2nd--WE ALL need to report ALL calls, so they are in the registry and complaint departments.

That's not correct. In 2009 I reported a number that called me several times despite being told I was on the Do Not Call List. In December 2010 I received a letter from the Do Not Call Registry thanking be for reporting them and informing me the owner was fined $210,000, the company was shut down and he was barred from the being involved with any telemarketing company as an owner, consultant or employee. If he gets caught he faces 3 years in jail.

You got to report them. They will not act on one call, or 10 calls. In fact I don't know how many calls it takes to have them investigated, but your report might be the straw that breaks the camels back. Go to the site, use the form to report the number and follow it up with a short email telling them how annoying they are and how glad you are you can come to them for help. Then copy the email to your Representative to Congress, your state Attorney General's Office, the Attorney General Office of the state they are calling from and your U.S. State Senator.

Want a little revenge? Forward incoming calls from a pre-selected telephone number to another telephone number..*63 to activate. Listen to the announcement on how to add a certain number to ring at another specific number. I have it set for clearwater security service calling allied interstate collections. I'll never know if it works but it makes me smile thinking it does. PS when they change numbers I update the numbers calling each other.

Most of the calls my number got were for people who gave it out as theirs (deliberate misleading info) or over 13 years ago they actually had it (preachers private number). I have told them until blue in the face I didn't know the person, never did business with their client or the preacher had a new number; in a couple of cases I actually looked it up for them. Still got 3 - 4 calls per day.
I refused to change my number and let them win. Finally one day my telephone service provider told me about SELECTIVE CALL ACCEPTANCE (*64) to activate if you have the additional service package. I love it! If your number isn't on my list you don't ring through! No solicitors, no politicians, no wrong numbers and no debt collectors on a bounty hunt. Since my family can call my cell number as a back-up if they have to call from a non-list approved number it is perfect. Phone service for my convenience not theirs.Blessed peace at last!!!

Might as well just disconnect your phone. What's the point of having a phone if no one can call you because they don't have your number?

The national "DO NOT CALL" list means NOTHING. PERIOD. The telemarketing companies gave all those legal bribes called campaign donations to congress so they'd make the DNC law toothless.

I trust you have seen the error of your ways and no lounger work for those scumbags.

Called Saturday morning -- number on caller ID was from Clearwater, FL -- "Steve" asking to speak with person who handles my electric bill.  I asked him to repeat what he said and he said he was calling to speak with the person who handles the Atlantic Electric bill.  I asked "Steve, why are you calling me from Clearwater FL about an electric bill in Atlantic City, NJ?"  He hung up.

called several time...a few times a week for a few weeks. Then today the number called and it rang 40 times!!! I picked up the phone and said "WHO IS THIS" and they hung up. I called the number back and got voice mail and told the voice mail that I am turning the number into the attorney general's office.

Caller trying to sell home security system...listened to spill...was very polite...when told I wasn't interested, he continued his spill...then asked, "Still not interested?  I thought so."  and hung up!!!!!

I worked for several telemarketing companies. If you don't want calls, all you have to do is keep your number to yourself. Never enter it for purchases via catalog, phone, or internet. By giving your number awa, you put it on a caller list. The national "DO NOT CALL" list means NOTHING if you GIVE your number away....
