you guys are so glad you didnt answer i did and stated that was my account info and they stated that i would only be billed 1.99 for shipping no hidden cost so i got it ciz im getting married aug 4th and going on a honey moon so i need the airline tickets....but because of my blindness over the past 3 weeks thay have taken 400hundred dollars out my account and when my bank calls them they state they they have me recorded stating they can do it so they used my voice and just made it seem like i agreed to let them debit my account so please dont say anything to them and dont answer...and they also debit my account wife a different name on each check so what should i do can anyone tell me please>>>>

Wow, glad I checked it, they have called my cell 4-5 times a day for over a week now.  They don't leave a message.  As i have been applying for jobs I wanted to look it up to be sure it wasnt one of the companies I had applied to.  I would never take a job like this lol tho i doubt they were calling to hire me, I bet it was to scam me.  I will report them to the address listed above, thanks for that input!

RECIEVED CALL BECAUSE OF MY CURRENT CHECKING ACCOUNT AND THANKING ME FOR MY RECENT PURCHASE AND WANTED TO VERIFY MY ADDRESS TO SEND ME $100.00 GAS CARD AND $400.00 VACATION VOUCHERS. THE CALLER IMMEDIATELY STARTED VERIFYING MY ADDRESS SPELLING MY LAST NAME AND STREET NAME INCORRECTLY I THEN ASKED WHERE SHE WAS CALLING FROM AGAIN AND SHE IGNORED ME ONLY TO TRY TO GET ME TO VERIFY MY BANK NAME FOR SECURITY PURPOSES I THEN TOLD HER THAT SHE DID NOT NEED MY BANK NAME BECAUSE IF SHE WAS CALLING ON MY CHECKING ACCOUNT SHE SHOULD ALREADY HAVE THAT SHE KEPT INSISTING ON THE VERIFICATION. I REFUSED TO GIVE HER ANY INFO AND THE SHE HUNG UP ON ME

They call here once a day or more lately. I'm just gonna answer and tell them to go to infowars.com, they wanna sell me something, let me sell them seomthing for a change. I used to be a telemarketer... I'll just keep saying "go to infowars.com" over and over until they hangup... I do it all the time to telemarketers.... either that or I tell them about some band I am promoting, such as Solefald or whatever other band I am heavily listening to at any given time.

Caller stated they were from a company called Variety and wanted to send me $400 in airline vouchers. They said they got my info from one of their affiliates. They verified my name and address and then wanted me to verify my banking routing number. When I didn't do so the woman got very snotty and rude.

I have been receiving phone calls from this number for about a month now.  They always call my cell phone, and they never leave a message.  Somtimes they call once a day, and other times they call three of four times a day.  I have never answered the phone when they call, but it is getting pretty annoying that they call so often.  I was thinking of asking them to stop calling, but it sounds like from the other entries that it would not do any good.  Does anyone know where they are based?  Thanks for all of the input, I am glad I googled it and found this site.

These people called me today. He started by thanking me for being a valued checking account customer. I asked him from what company he was calling from, he stated Variety. I said, I do not have an account with Variety. He said, No No, you have used your account with one of our affiliates, and wanted to offer me $100 in gas vouchers. When I said I was not interested, he replied, "I don't give a D*mn if you are not interested. Rather shocked I replied that I did not want him calling my again. His next reply was, "Then don't answer your F**king phone. When I tried to respond to his vulgar language he started yelling into the phone like a child does to not hear you. Very childish, very unprofessional.....what a bunch of IDIOTS

Called very early every day for roommate but wouldn't say who they were or why they were calling.  Also refused to leave any messages.  Finally looked up their number online and found this listing.  I'm glad we never took their calls!

I didn't answer. They've called about 3 times a day for the last couple of days. Thank goodness I researched this first.

Should I answer, or call them and asked to be taken off their list? Or just ignore them?

These people are calling me at WORK even after I asked them not to. Said since I recently opened a bank account, I was due some "prize". I didn't buy it for one minute. Not to mention, This bank account was opened MONTHS ago, too - not "recently." When I see the number on the caller ID at work I just release the call and it never gets answered.

Called my 13 year old daughters cell phone and I answered the phone they asked me if I was her I told them I was her mother she said she need to talk with her. I told them that I was her mother and what did they want with a 13 year old she immediatly said I will remove her from the list and hung up. Said she was calling from veridian.

They keep calling me.  It says Variety on caller ID.  I do not answer anyone that I do not know. So I guess they will keep calling.

Wow mine has to be the weirdest.  They called my cell phone and asked for my best friend's name.  And they knew all of his information.  I pretended to be him and they wanted his bank name and promised $400 dollar plane ticket vouchers and $100 gas voucher.

omg, i just had the same call today asking me to "verify" my checking info so i can get free gas vouchers & airline vouchers they even put on a
"floor supervisor" who was very persistant saying he was doing me a favor i said he can keep his gas, i dont need them that bad he said thank u have a blessed day [the nerve] and hu, i was just too hardcore for them lol!! oh and i called the company who they say they were with and they stated they do not share information with anyone and to not not give my info out...

I get this number in my caller id everyday for the last 1 week, twice a day..I never was there to pick up..how do we report and end this annoyance

I received a call on my cell phone on Thu 06/14/07 at 1944 hours from an unidentified male who stated he was sending to me a $100.00 gas card certificate to my residence, which he identified.He identified himself as something to the affect of Variety Discount Club, He asked questions as to the name of my bank and when I told him the conversation ended , he became loud.I provided no information to him. I show missed calls from hin on 06/12/07 and 06/13/07. If I do not recognize the caller, I will not accept the incoming cell call.I noticed this number from before. After several calls I did not accept, I wanted to know who was calling

They call me again and again, 2 to 3 times everyday for the last 5 days.  I have not answered one call - and I NEVER WILL!!!  However, I want them to stop calling me!!!!

These a***oles all of a sudden are calling me almost every day for almost 2 weeks now. I decided to answer the phone. It was some lady named Stephanie who told me I won some kind of vacation including roundtrip airfare. I told her I am not interested and asked that she please stop calling this number. She kept cutting me off and I finally hung up on her. Don't ya know she called me back and left a message asking if I'm still interested in this offer.

Number comes up as variety ( Tampa, FL )on my land line phone.  They call twice a day.  I don't answer calls from strangers.

Some lady called saying shes from a company called Variety, that I had written a check somewhere and because of that She is going to give me a $100.00 gas voucher and $400.00 in airline ticket vouchers. I asked where I had written the check to and she said she didnt have that information in front of her .. and I said well thats funny because I dont write checks, and she said well you may have used your debit card and so on and so forth. Then she asked where I bank at and I told her I dont give out that information, her then sweet tone turned to a bit of an attitude and said theres millions of banks in America .. that I shouldnt worry .. and again asked where I banked .. I told her its none of her business then she hung up.

i would call your bank and make sure they are aware of the situation...its from myvarietyclub.com and i have no clue yet how they got my number but i am kind of tenacious they have a websight and a couple toll free numkbers but the supposed manager i talked too was a real piece of work

they started calling me yesterday ..so heres what i tracked so far...they have a web sight http://myvarietyclub.com also a couple toll free numbers 1-877-2709 and 1-800-442-9679 someone you purchesed something through gave them your name and number i gave them no information and told them take me off their lists ...i was told that could take forty five days i am now going too call my cell phone company and see if i can block them...good luck

PEOPLE COME ONE.... GOOGLE THE SITE FOR THE TASK FORCE THAT IS LISTED AND YOU WILL GET  A  PHONE NUMBER THAN GOOGLE THAT NUMBER AND GIVE IT A CALL THAT NUMBER IS FAKE AS WELL.  I DID YOU CAN TOO.  
IF YOU PUT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IN OTHER SCAMMERS WILL GET IT.  I TRIED TO GET THESE IDIOTS FROM VARIETY TO GIVE ME A STREET ADDRESS AND THE GUY COULDNT DO IT.  GOT LOTS OF PROMISES INCLUDING A PROMISE THAT MY BANK WOULD BE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MISSING MONEY SHOULD ANY COME UP MISSING. HOW INTERESTING. PEOPLE WISE UP STOP POSTING STUFF HERE AND CALL YOUR LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT OR CONTACT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DIRECTLY.
