Called our company talking very fast about wanting to verify our address and send us rebates to use on our utilities and such - I advised that we weren't interested and she immediately switched to her rebuttal script stating that many people are concerned about conducting business over the phone - I hung up at that point - we NEVER authorize ANYONE calling on the phone to send us ANYTHING - too many scams out there

They call and want to verify our address (reading very fast from a script) regarding giving us rebates/discounts on utility bills. Blah Blah Blah........We hung up on them

they called me from sbts for business advisors, some lady named trish wanted to confirm my address and send this out so i checked the number a bit and bam SCAMMERS i got thier num for you

I make these calls and I'm very sorry to all of you because I know its a pain in the a** but as of right now i'm a single mother and in this great economy we have it's the only job I could find quick and that pays decent. So unless you want to hire me at one of your fortunately family owned businesses then understand where I'm coming from too. Not everyone is fortunate with that. I understand it's frustrating but all you have to say is PUT ME ON YOUR DO NOT CALL LIST. And we CAN NOT call you again. If you people would just cut us off, say that and hang up it would all be done in stead of trying to make us feel like dirt or just being plain nasty and rude. Were just doing our jobs too. =]

My daugherty worked at a salon ...sounds like the same bs they gave her ...they asked for her own personal info... she ended up having to add a fraud alert to her credit bureau acct..the women afford a $300 rebate and needed the last four digits of her social...shes young and fell for it.. only having work there 1 week...

A woman called this morning from this number and said she was from "SBTS Advisors." It was noisy in the background as if she was at a conference or convention or something. I asked her to repeat where and she talked really quickly and sounded annoyed when she repeated "SBTS" as if it was GE or a recognizable name brand. I said I didn't know what "SBTS was" and hung up. I am on the "Do Not Call List" but am going to re-register. Totally annoying.

well, we got called from them today and the same ole story..talk fast, double talk, get $300 back "just confirm your address".
like my dad used to day, there is NOTHING FREE! hang up on them! if you have a fog horn or anything like that blast it in their ear!

They've called several times.  They claim they are sending a $300 rebate check (free money from total strangers -- it must be a legitimate call!!!).

these people called my business. right off you know that it's a scam because they talk fast and keep saying that you will get $300 they just need to verify your address. if you just keep saying "not interested. put me on the do not call list" they will get angry and then hang up on you.

A woman called, talking very fast.  Said she wanted to offer $300 rebates on Utilities bills.  When I asked if they were charging anything then she finally admitted they would be charging $49.95.  Never before I asked did they say they would be charging our company.

Thanks for the advise, we have activated THIRD PARTY BILLING BLOCK on all of our business lines. They claim to be calling from Small Business Services ..... and they have a utility credit offer and need authorization to send their financial and tax services to us. My next question was: What is the relationship between a utility credit and their financial services? They passed me to another person to verify the address. I regret that I was too polite to them.

Caller want to send something FREE, however to do this they have to record the conversation.  I told this b***h, if it were free you would not be trying to record a response or trick me into saying yes.  GOOD BYE!

Got called this morning from the same number, missed the call.  Called it back and guess what? It is a disconnected number.  A quick call to the service provider from this number revealed that some one is faking their caller ID to show this number - but they are really calling from another number.  Trying to slam your phone service with a third party charge!  Don't give out the info they want or you could get hit with some hefty unauthorized charges on your bill later on.   Best thing to do is to call your phone company and tell them that you want a THIRD PARTY BILLING BLOCK.  This will prevent anyone from charging anything to your phone bill unless you or your authorized party grants permission to do so. Best of all - it's FREE from most service providers.  Just ask for it.

These people called two days ago.  A woman.  Wanting to send something. Identified herself as SBC, I think.  I said no and said to remove me.  Evidently she flipped the pages on her little 'guide' and started another speech.  I said "Not Interested.  Remove me now." and hung up.  This morning, from same number, this time a man.  Saying he wanted to send something and also identifying himself as SBC. I informed him they'd already been told not to call me again.  He started the 'but it's free' spiel and I hung up.  GAWD I hate telemarketers wasting my time!

Just received phone call from a man who said he represented SBTS - Small Businesses T-something Services, and wanted to send info and verify my address to send rebate for utilities. I told him the boss had to speak with him and that he would have to call back. I was glad to see this page of info here and will be happy to find out more info if and when he calls to warn people about and tell him we're not interested.

Reading these comments are identical to what happened to us today. I notified AT&T, and put a third party billing block on our account. They recorded my son saying the word "Yes". Be careful!!!!!

Same thing just happen to me.  When he wanted to verify my address I hung up... this makes the 4th call in a month.

They called today 08/17/2009 asking to verify my address for rebate on our utility bill, after my polite answers, that I am not going to verify anything until I found out who they are and research in to their company they wont give up and start going in to routine adding stuff to my phone bill, I believe that there was a recording going on and I have to in rude manner say that I don't want anything add to my phone bill they left me alone.

When I told them, "No thank you, this is taking longer than 30 seconds" and hung up they CALLED ME BACK on a private line and yelled bi*** into the phone 5 or 6 times. Wow. Professional.

They called me and we get calls all the time because I work at a psychotherapist's office and so I was stupid enough to verify the info >.<.

Called work # but left no message. I work with utilities but have no idea how they got any info on me.

They want to send me $300 and free business and legal services !  Hey, go on and send me the $300 then leave me the H@!! alone !  I too hung up when they wanted to put the supervisor on the phone for verification of address and my permission to send me FREE MATERIAL !!

Called home number this morning. No one on the other end. We are on state and federal DNC.

Just called me.  The woman spoke quickly and before I knew anything, she switched me to a very fast talking, attitude laden woman.  I stopped her and asked what this was about and that I was a bit confused.  She then proceeded to get an attitude and keep going, so I stopped her again. And, she said, "You are able to make decisions about your phone and are over 18, right?"  I said "Yes, I am..." and tried to continue and she CUT ME OFF and said, "So, what are you confused about?"  I responded with "ARE YOU SERIOUS?  You are going to call me on Monday morning and get an attitude?  You've just tried to scam me into something that I don't know.  You talk fast and are trying to get money from me, and you are getting a f-ing attitude with me?  I've got you on caller id, and I'm reporting you.  Have a great week.  And, get a resume ready."
That's when I found this.

Got a call today, from "SBTS"...asked what that is, was told "Small business technical solutions". The caller went into his spheel about the $300 in utility rebate coupons if I would talk to a "verifier". Caller seemed confused when I asked what a "verifier" is.

This is an old scam-they used to try to sell copier supplies by getting a secretary on tape "verifying" an order.

Don't even play games-they are recording you. Just hang up.

I keep getting the same telephone call on weekly basis.  I already told them we are not interested.  Something about getting a rebate of $300.00 for utilities service.  Who in the world is giving away money nowadays?  This is a SCAM!!
