I have gotten the same thing from the "Anderson Law Firm" number they were using is 786-220-3387. I asked for documentation of the debt to be sent to me by certified mail or by email. They said they had emailed me countless times (which of course they had not) and that if I could not pay $100 today via a 'greendot' pay transfer at a walmart that they would sue me for over $7000, went on and on about having the cops come to my work or home and drag me to court. I told them they could send me documentation by certified mail or I wasn't going to pay a dime.  The name he was using was "andrew johnson" and had a heavy Indian accent. He told me he hopes I have $7000 because they are processing the paperwork to sue me tomorow. We'll see but I'm pretty sure this is a scam, I am a soldier and will be calling my local JAG officer to give them a call as well as reporting them to my state Attorney General.

They have been calling me since oct 2011 telling me that i owe 300 and if i didnt pay that they were going to have me arrested and put in jail. But I paid 100 today  we could settle out of court. They call with several different numbers 727-386-9962, 413-566-6013, 321-482-5007.fax#561-828-2221. And when they call they state that this is an urgent matter or legal matter and use the names neil johnson or anndrew.  And if i tried to call before 8am of after 5pm i words get a message saying that the number i dialed was not a correct number.

Got a call saying she was Arin Johnson from the Anderson Law Office and if I or my attorney did not call back they would proceed with an application against me.  I tried calling back and the circuits were always busy per my local phone operator.  I am so glad that didn't get anybody, I make the big mistake of soliciting a pay day loan on the internet and now I am getting all the emails and telephone calls from these kind of people.  Should I be concern about my bank accounts and other accounts?

This number called me telling me that his name is John Smith, claiming to be from Anderson Law Firm, stating they have a legal application against me and that if he or the attorney dont hear from me then I will be in big trouble.  I tried to call this number back and all I got was dead silence.  This guy had a strong accent so clearly his name isnt John Smith.

The bogus law firm is "Anderson Law Firm"; the caller said his name was "James", and the return phone number he left was 727-386-9962, which shows up as a mobile (cell) phone out of Florida.

As another reporter here stated, no legitimate law firm, debt collector, etc. would contact you from a cell phone; plus, they would more than likely be writing to you via regular mail, not calling you.  And if it were legit, they wouldn't need info from you over the phone and would/should (legally) provide you proof of your debt when asked.  These people won't/don't.

Most of these loan companies are getting applicant's information for such as PayDay Loans, Online Loans, and some of the small auto dealerships, FYI.

They threaten lawsuits and all sorts of things and will not give you any proof or documentation of your "owing" the money.

If they continue to call and/or harass you, in a loud voice state "OPERATOR, TRACE THE CALL", or let them know you've provided their name and number to the FCC and FBI (they really don't give a hoot about being report to BBB, because they are not legit businesses in the first place).  Although, reporting them to the BBB certainly can not hurt.  ;-)

I got a second call on my cell phone.  Turns out that the information they got was from an application a friend of mine had filled out for a loan and had listed me as a reference on.

Seems the people who you are filling the application out for take your application and it gets run through several companies (to see who will accept the applicant's loan), and one (or more) of those companies is not legitimate - they obtain your information (SSN, DoB, Address, etc. as well as your creditors, bank accounts, friends/relatives/references) and then call you to try and get more info out of you to get you to "pay" for something that they make up (like to bail someone out of jail, to pay a fine,  ticket/warrant, or some past-due whatever, etc., it's all a CON).

If you have applied for a loan (auto, cash advance, quick cash, home loan, etc.), then watch your accounts and credit cards CAREFULLY as they can access these!  And then report the company that took your application, as they are potentially in on the scam!

Never give anyone personal or credit information over the phone unless you absolutely *know* who they are (and only if you have called them, don't give it if they call you).  These people are scammers - do NOT return their calls!

Prank Call
Caller left message on my voice mail (unlisted, unpublished number).  He said this message was for a name that slightly resembled mine (last name was horribly mis-pronounced).  He indentified himself as James from Anderson Law Firm and stated that "a person" (unnamed) used my name and contact number on a legal form, and he (the unnamed person) was under investigation for "financial fraud" and that I had to call immediately if I wanted to protect him.

"James" was extremely hard to understand, and spoke with a very heavy either Indian (as in, from India, not a native-american) or Asian accent.

First, nobody I know would use this number and/or spelled/pronounced my name the way he did.  Secondly, after researching the Anderson Law Firm and the number he left, I found it was all BOGUS.

This is apparently a SCAM to get your money and/or personal information, and to use scare tactics or threats to do so.  DO NOT RETURN THEIR CALL, or else they know they will "have" you and continue to call you at all hours of the day/night.

I just had a voice mail left on my cell phone, saying he was Paralegal James Smith from Anderson law firm, and that my SSN is under investigation, and if they don't hear from me or my attorney we'll be in lots of trouble.  Other than how annoying it is to have them pester you on your phone, you have to give the little lame-a** freaky retards some credit for their creative attempt at a pathetic money making scam.  Their unemployment must've run out.

I received a call from them as well the 2 mens names are
Andrew Johnson and Neil Johnson. They told me they were from the Anderson Law firm in Miami Florida. On the home phone it comes up on the caller id as Skype and when I tried to call it before 8 a.m. and after 5 p.m. it says that the Cspire wireless number you are calling is not available to take your call. They say I am being sued for a $300 cash loan and that if I dont take care of this out of court they will send me a copy of a warrant for my arrest and also a copy of my subpoena. They wanted me to pay them $100 upfront with my credit or debit card to show good faith that I wanted to take care of this out of court and then they also wanted me to fax them a copy of my photo id and my address and my social security number. They want me to send this but they already know the last 4 of my social security and they know my address. The 712 number is in Clearwater Florida and the Fax number is in  West Palm Beach Florida. I looked up the law office by the address and the phone numbers are totally different but the address is the same....I did not get a loan online and the money they are wanting was never deposited into my account like they say. They tell me that I will be handcuffed and taken to Texas to go court to try and prove myself innocent. When I ask them a question they keep asking me if I understand English and guess what they are not from here they are indians or foreigners and not American. They also get very upset when I ask them a question and they hang up on me. I have never heard of a law firm using a cell phone for business and hanging up on a customer and when I have ever talked to someone from a lawyers office, there has never been any background noise and other people talking in the background either. This is a scam and it has been on the BBB webpage about this type of scam.
