The BBB is ran  by the m.o.b and they require companies to sell their client information. And if u look up the BBB like u did select financial you will see they have numorous lawsuits because they allow companies to get  a highrr rating then what they deserve. Select financial services are licensecd with the office of financial regulations

This number shows up on caller I'd as Select Financial Services.  When you answer the phone, they automatically hang up.  Probably another scam.

I keep getting the same call from someone named  Albert Finan. He calls himself a sales specialist. He lives in California somewhere. Report him to the BBB.

How do I stop this  I fell for it

This is bogus!!!!!  I tried callin the number back to take me off the list and I was put on hold FOREVER!

This company is a complete fraud. Went into vulgar insult mode when I questioned them. Story doesn't make sense.

I assume the above poster works for them.

What a class act.

I did not take the call.  I called them back!  I pressed the appropriate number to reach customer service.  A man answered and I asked to be removed from their call list and they hung up.  This happened a few minutes ago.  I will be calling back.  FOR SURE.

WE have good credit too! and they just called - I answered, no-one responded...then they hung up! What a waste of time! Dont appreciate these silly interruptions

Thank you Steven.  I almost fell for this scam.  I received a package from them the other day.  I read the info and took it to my son-in-law who is an attorney.  He read it and said it is another scam.  They prey upon desperate people and the elderly.  I am a window in my 70's and my husband didn't leave me with much money, so, down the road I will probably have to live with my daughter and husband.  My son-in-law told me to pay what I can because I didn't own that much.  This company called me early one morning when I was still in bed.  I asked them how they got my name and they said from the card card company.  They are smooth talkers and it is hard to get off the phone with them.  They are not listed with the BB.

I also received a call from  Albert from this company by the number 888-321-2311. I heard the sales talk but wanted to check them out. Here is what I found:

I also received a call from this company. His name was Albert and he gave his call back number as 888-321-2311. I heard the  talk and decided I wanted to check them out with the BBB. Here is what I found out:

This company did not provide requested information to BBB.
There have been 8 complaints in the last 3 years (and they have been closed in the last 12 months).

You need to looking at the marketing policy for the credit reporting agencies and I think you will be suprised at what they share for marketing puposes.

i got a call from somebody name sharon and i say im not giving you my information she got very angry and hung up.

I used this company to settle my credit card debt of apx. 20k. They were very helpfull and had my debt paid off in 6 months. I just wanted to post because one bad apple does not spoil the tree. If you have debt give them a try.

I just got a call from this number, the script was this:
me: "Hello?"
them: "Hello is Matt there?"
m: "Is this a marketing call?"
t: "What?"
m: "Is this a marketing call?"
t: "Heh, NO.  Is Matt there?"
m: "Who is this?"
t: "Is Matt there?"
m: "Who is calling?"

And then they hung up.  Very professional.

The correct # is 888-321-2311. I called it and got right thru, told them to take me off their auto dial list or I would sue them as I am on the NO CALL LIST. the fella said I would be removed and tole me to have a nice day.

I received a call from this number at 10:05AM Eastern on 17 February 2011. The gentleman on the other end did not introduce himself and immediately went into his sales pitch about receiving my information from "the credit reporting agencies" and that he was able to help me out of credit card debt. "Are your credit card balances at least $10,000.00?" As soon as I said no, and said that I didn't like this phone call, he hung up. Calling the number back gets you a recorded message that I have contacted them "outside their normal business hours."

Just giving you a heads up that I posted the company information so that you may contact them to have your number removed.  Best of luck!  I hope we can both get them to stop calling us!

I answered and they said nothing, so I know it was a recorded message or a telemarketer.

I received a phone call from Pat Donahue of Select Financial on February 28th. These guys are REALLY smooth. They try to convince you to stop paying your credit card bills once you have signed with them. You then put a payment each month into a savings account that after six months, is used by them to lower your interest rate and consolidate your payments into one low monthly payment.
Remember that this "company" has only been in existence since last summer.
     No high pressure, no pushing. As subtle as you can possibly be. I was assured that I would be the ONLY one with access to this "savings, bargaining account".
     They almost had me. Almost. Be forewarned, they are REALLY good. Their number is 888-321-2311.

Just recieved a call from them asking for my husband-when I told them he was not available and asked if I could take a message, I was immediatly hung up on-no name was ever given and no company was ever identified.  Got the number from caller ID and tried to call back to complain about the rudeness and only get a busy signal each time.

Just went to the websight that stoppingharrassment listed and it is the correct one for this number.  I called the 800 number on the websight and had my number removed.  It is not a debt collection agency but a debt consolidation agency.

They have called us many time over the last few weeks (according to our missed call log).  Today I was home and picked up.  They asked for my husband (used his name).  When I told them he was not here, could I take a message, she said she could talk to me.  Asked "do you have over 7K in debt".  I said "yes" (shoudl have realized then that had they actually had our info they would have known how much debt we have).  Eventually I asked how they got our information and she said TransUnion gave them our info.  Which, I believe, woudl be illegal for TransUnion to do, but I didn't think about it at the time.  
 She asked how much our payments were and I said I wasn't sure since hubby pays the bills.  She said "well I can't help you right now if you can't tell me".  I said "OK, why don't you tell my about this program?".  "Well I can't tell you much unless I know how much you are paying" was her response.  So I started asking questions.  Eventually I asked "Will this affect our credit" and she said "you're credit is already messed up, that's why we are calling you."  We actually have very good credit, so I knew then this wasn't quite legit.  I told her our credit was good and she tried arguing with me.  I said "We're not interested and please don't call again" and hung up.
 I have a feeling they will call again at which point I will be sure to get a name and report it to BBB.  On top of that we are on the "do not call list" but when she said they got our info from someone else I thought perhaps we had a "relationship" and so they could call.  (I'm pregnant so it takes me awhile to figure thigns out sometimes lol).
 I did try calling back to find out some more info to report the company and all I got was a busy signal.

Just like one of the posts here I answered after days of seeing this number come up.  They asked for my wife by name and when I asked why they said the credit bureau sent her name to them.  I said that's against the law and she went into a speech about trying to help us.  When I asked which agency sent the info she got an attitude saying "We're just trying to help you and you question our motives".  I told her it was a scam and she started screaming at me.  I hung up.  They're crooked.  None of the credit reporting agencies give out any info like that.  If you find out they did SUE them.

they called and claimed we have 10000$ debts !!!!!and they knew our asdress. and want to help us and when I told them probably is a wrong number. they said I am wife and doesn't know a thing so they will call back just talked my husband!!!!!!
