I haven't checked my phone for quiet some time and when I noticed this message I started to panic. I had no idea what was going on, until I did a bit of research and found out it was a scam. Thank you all for posting here so I know I was not the only one who received this text.

I feel really stupid, but i fell for this scam and i need help. I called bank of america and cancelled my card but does anyone remember them asking for your social security number? I can remember if i gave it out.

I had just signed up for a paypal hours before and I thought that was the suspicious activity they were talking about

got a email text message at 3:36 am saying my accout has been locked please call security @ 727-861-7280 you fool's ar trippi I aint calling you so you can steal my info thats b***s***! GET A JOB!

Got a text saying that my account is locked so i need to call them WHAT THE HECK....stupid people!!!

Thats is funny. I got text  saying that my account is blocked so i need to call back wich i did and its tells me that number is not exist,
what the heck..

I received a text message saying that  "my account is now locked and needs to be updated. Please call security staff at 727-861-7280." said it was from notlce@boa.com.

Got the following text message @3:04am =

I do have BOA accounts & thought this was legit at first. (Except for the little tip off w/the use of an exlamation point. A legitimate message from a bank wouldn't be so dramatic.) So instead of calling, I tried the website they noted. It doesn't exist. Further researching this message brought me to here. THANKS, guys. You saved me from any further harrassment over this scam.

I just recv'd the same text as well. I called the bank per the number on website. they said myt account was fine. I tried to let the bank know about this scam but something got lost in translation.

received a text from this number at 7:23a, from notIce@boa.com. See how the I in notice is capitalized? A good indication that this is fraud.

Same here, 3:15 am pacific time.Stated my account was locked. Please call to update info! Haven't had anything to do with Bank Of America in 4 years!

I got this message.  Obvious scam.

i got the same message at 3:04 am pacific time.i called MY bank. my account was just fine. I warned my son and daughter about this and reported it to fraud line of the real Bank of America.

Recieved same message via text so i googled it funny it came in at 3:03 am! Obvious scam

scam- did the look-up here when it came in. Same message- debit card locked

Plus, I havent had a BOA acct in way over 10yrs...no affiliation w BOA.

Me, too. Called BOA. Phone rep said that's not one of their numbers.

I just called that number up. There's a message that tells that my mastercard has been locked and I need to input my card number. I don't have a mastercard so I made up a 16 digit number. Then they ask for the experation date. I put April 2015. Then they hung up. Obvious scam.

got text message saying BOA debit card was blocked. I don't have a Bank of America debit card.  Asked me to call 727-861-7280.

Yep, scam - I received the same text, don't have a BofA account.

I received the same SMS as S.D. reported above at 6:55am PST Sunday Apr 28, 2013

I got a text message saying my debt crd was locked due to suspicious activity and to call the phone number. The company was for bank if America- I have another bank. It's a scam.

MAKE $1 MILLION!!! Just wire me $10,000 to my Nigerian account...

people still fall for this???
