It may be the Consumer Confidence Survey. I worked at the ISR (institute for social research) while in undergrad and the University does the monthly goverment survey that you hear about on the news. This is how they find out if the Consumer Confidence has gone up or down. They have to do 500 surveys per month and the phone numbers are generated by a computer so they don't know who or where they are are calling.
But like someone said earlier, it could be anyone on campus calling. This number shows up for all lines if dialing off campus.

Yeap its U of M! I wish they stopped calling me everyday, claiming the number was randomly picked for a survey regarding our nation's economy. Oh and they'll send me $10 for participating. Last thing I meed to do is give these bugaboos more info about me! Go away!

I have tried - told them on the first three calls to stop calling and again today they called!

4th time they have called - I told them to remove me from their call list - states they are from University of Michigan wanted to do a survey on the economy. Very pushy when I tried to tell them NO!

This is the return number for anyone who calls from UM. It could be a random digit number for one of the research projects.

It is a University of Michigan LSA fund call. Just call back and tell them to stop.

I'm a Michigan grad and this number has been trying me ditto above for the last 5 years. They probably want more money. I live in Vegas.

I am at a federal installation in South Mississippi, and someone called me from this number. I've never stepped foot in Michigan. Strange.

This number started calling our land-line, and now it's has called one of our cell phone's. We have no connections to the University of Michigan.
| Jason 2011-06-06 20:56:10 Unknown |
I live in southern Mississippi as well, attend the University of Southern Mississippi - but that does not justify another college calling my cell phone. I've never applied or had dealings with that university.

This is THE U Mich #. Any call that goes out from main campus will have THIS return #. If you call you will get an automated response "This is the U Mich Number" yata yata yata.
There is no way to figure out WHO from U Mich called you, unless you check your messages.

They want an email address.
