Someone from the number 7572285495 when I call it does not ring even though phine says it is connecting. Please help.

I got this call as well. Returning the call got nothing. Just a dead zone; no voice mail; nor busy signal! Puzzling to say the least. Who are you?

Received a call at 4:08 pm  today from 757-228-5495.  I know the person that called who works with the Norfolk Community Service Board.  When I attempted to call back I jest kept getting a busy signal. At this number a citizen can only receive a call and not able to dial this number to receive any results..  It is a one way number, out only, no call back.  Best of luck.

IF she called from the jail it would have been a COLLECT call.  That's all inmates are allowed to make.

This is an outbound only line from the City of Norfolk.  Anyone from a General District Court clerk to the tax assessor's office may be calling, the city is assigned a range of outbound lines so they aren't always going to be from the same person or department, but someone who works for the city of Norfolk is trying to reach you.

This is definately someone calling from inside the norfolk city jail.  When you dial in to speak with them it's a completely different number with an exchange of 664 as prior individuals have stated..  The number comes up as 228-5495. I know this because I work with a specific individual at the jail and when she calls me it comes up as the 228-5495# but when I call her it using a completely different telephone#.

i received a call around 610 pm from this number it tied my phone up and could not make a call had to turn off my phone several time and when i tried to call back no ring no answer this is crazy and serous needs more attention from the proper authorities

For me it was from the Risk Assessment Mgr for the City of Norfolk. I had a claim that they were handling. You're not going to get anybody if you call, because I think this is a default number for all outgoing City of Norfolk calls, no matter what phone # they're actually calling from. The hospitals in my area are the same...all outgoing calls are from 388-3000 from one hospital and 507-1000 from another, regardless of the actual number they're calling from.

caller called hung up from this number. When I called back it doesnt ring and their no answer and a dead tone.

I got a call I was on the phone so I couldn't answer the caller did not leave a message. Why would a professional call and not leave message? Since 228 is a scrabble for City of Norfolk

The 228 number is a scrambled City of Norfolk number to prevent returned calls.  Calls received from these numbers could be coming from anywhere within the City's telephone system.

Got call and no one answered

Got a call from this number from a friend that was in jail. She was arrested the night before having a medical problem (they thought she was drunk) and the d****head cops wouldn't give her access to insulin that she needed. The morons could have killed her. Anyway she called me to pick her up from the jail from this number.

I received a call from someone @ this ph # and the phone did not have a ring tone, there's no way to return a call. I thought it was my phone but it wasn't. Check your service unless the no. is a number that doesn't receive return calls.

I got a call from this number, it was notifying me that I won a raffle in a city-sponsored dog festival. It goes to dead air when I called back to see exactly who they were to report it here, but they're not a salesperson or anything.

Received a call from this number at 9:30a, two days after I sent the Commissioner of the Revenue a check for state taxes.  The guy on the other line said he is with the Commissioner of the Revenue and based on the fact my earnings were below a certain amount, I owe nothing in state taxes.  He said he would just void the check I sent him.  I was relieved at that, but I would think this transaction would be handled formally... in writing, that is.

I work for a company in Virginia Beach that sells office electronics (copiers, printers, postage equipment, etc.).  I just got a call from a woman who wanted to know her postage account balance and the caller ID showed this telephone #.  I advised her she needed to contact Neopost/Hasler because we don't maintain postage accounts - we're just an equipment dealer for them.  I asked her to hold while I looked up their # but I accidentally disconnected her instead.  I immediately called the # back to see if I could get her back on the line and apologize but, like everyone else, I got nothing but dead air.  I even tried dialing the area code and the A/C and a 1, just in case it was just outside our local calling area, but I had no luck.  

What I also find strange is that she didn't call right back, but she may have found the correct # to call in her files and didn't need my help any further.  

I did not think the call was malicious in any way - I get that question all the time from customers and it's right in line with what we do.  Someone linked the # to the City of Norfolk's jail and it's possible that the same phone # shows up on caller ID no matter who calls out from that building and no matter what phone is used.

some guy claiming to be a detective and asked me if i own a certain car and I said no.  then recited a plate number and wasn't mine.  He then asked me my plate number.  He knew my first and last name but the middle name was incorrect ( I didn't give it to him).  Ask was a date my birth,  the first was not but the second one was (I didn't tell him).  He said my records and someone elses were mixed up.

I got a call from the Norfolk Commissioner of the Revenue concerning my business taxes, and this is the number that showed up on my caller ID. For some reason though you can't use this number to call them. It does nothing, not even a ring.

If it is someone from the city of Norfolk calling...why is no message left? I have a police report out on a stolen wallet, and I'm wondering if they would be calling about that.  However, it makes no sense to not leave a message if it is about that.

Someone at this number called my agency issued phone which has no association with me personally.

Some1 called me from this number and when I answered it ...they said ..."f*** u mothafucker"....lol then hung up....idk who it was becuz when I called back it was no ring
